Ang Lee is a master filmmaker. He puts so much compassion and love in his projects and that really shows with Brokeback. His films are incredible.

I feel them goosebumps when I saw him walking into the studio, that's astounding. I LOVE HIM.

well, those who rejected the role play in Broke must have been taken by surprised when they see how success the film is. Ang Less is an Exceptional Director, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is one of the best martial art films ever.

It's significant to us Taiwanese though. Most great Asians were originated from Taiwan, and that's not a coincidence.

    Bravo, Lorette:
Those who claimed "Taiwan was not China" actually tried to blocking Ang Lee shooting Pi in Taiwan. Those who claim "Taiwan was not China" actually are the most corrupt ever in Taiwan.

why does every video of Ang Lee has to filled with cockroaches arguing about politics. I ask you to please stop. It really does not project a positive image of the people from either nation. It's just incredibly saddening.

I'm not judging your political beliefs. What I find annoying is that in your first comment you state "I'm proud of Taiwan", as if Taiwan has a claim to his success. Yes, the specific people in Taiwan who helped with the filming DID contribute to the film. Other than that, I don't see why Ang Lee's success directly relates to ALL of Taiwan's success. It's as ridiculous as if I commented "I am proud of the USA" b/c Steven Spielberg is a famous director.

I see no problem of saying that being proud of Taiwan because Ang Lee is great. With your logic, let's then not have world cup or whatever national teams there are all together. Just because a team of Italians won doesn't mean general Italians should be happy and proud of Italy. Plus Ang Lee repeatedly mentioned Taiwan in his speeches. He has no obligation to, but he still does. Surely that action gives one the impression that he would be offended if his fellow Taiwanese says they are proud of Taiwan.

Ang Lee's movies were not filmed by Taiwan, China, India, America, or any other country, they were filmed by Ang Lee, the cast, crew, etc. "That is totally different!!!"
no one cares that you're proud of Taiwan...this is about ANG LEE, not about Taiwan
