One of my favorite movies of all time, and it bears repeated viewings like a champ.

I LOVE this film. You are not alone. My family has an Ice Storm viewing every Thanksgiving and then mom and dad (as old as they are now) go to a key party. Love the old ways.

I saw this movie during my first and only visit to the US! It was in October 1996. My visit lasted for 3 weeks. I stayed only in Manhattan, except for one day tour to a village in upper state NY, that I reached by train with remarkable views outside the train windows of the trees in red, yellow and orange.
I watched the movie in a movie theater in the upper east side I think. I could only find tickets in the first row and was in an awkward position trying to see what's on the screen. The movie made a great impact on me, I think partly because the movie is so local, about American life, filmed in an area not far from Manhattan and there I was in Manhattan watching it, surrounded by Americans, by English. It was an awesome experience.

Family is the genesis of film noir and horror. Just ask Oedipus.
