Girl, Im a straight natural again! Doing it for 2024.I used to be a straight natural as a teen and my hair was waist length. Since I've been heat free, so many single steand knots and reduced growth. Im going back to heat styling. I have three kids, and a husband with locs. I do everyone's hair. Im tired.

I’m a straight hair natural now too. I kept it straight for the winter since I live in the south. Now that it’s getting warm I will be doing flat twist and leaving them in for 2 weeks. I haven’t done a twist off or rod set in almost a year and my hair is thicker and more manageable.

Listen. I’m not a straight natural per se…but I’m a straight and mini twist natural and i don’t regret it AT ALL. I am retaining sooooo much more length and thickness bc neither of those styles result in tangles, or tension on my edges (which is how i lose density).
Only issue is i don’t need any hair products anymore so i got a bunch of ish i don’t use.

how do you all manage humidity? i’m a high porosity natural. Hair straightens really well but when i leave the house at 7 am it’s always humid in NYC. Humidity tends to decrease around 9-10 a.m. but the damage is done by then 🤦🏾♀️
