I think it’s important to not part and comb kinky/coily strands too aggressively. I’ve lost so much hair at salons from just the wash and blow dry process alone. My stylist now is so gentle and she checks and clears all tangles and sections my hair before washing.
I’ll say this I never seen a professional hairstylist use leave in for a silk press, they usually always rinse everything out so I don’t know why people debating about what you said. That’s why peoples silk presses at home don’t EVER look at good!
When silk pressing…many don’t use leave in, perhaps it weighs hair down, less on the hair gives it that swing, but leave ins maybe beneficial to other styles
There are leave-ins whether they are liquids or creams that double as health protectants. My stylist uses them on me regularly. My hair isn't weighed down and has lots of movement.
I use a great leave in when I blow dry my teen daughter’s hair and it leaves her hair silky and straight and moisturized. Everyone’s hair journey is different & certain products that works on your hair, may not work effectively on my hair. Regardless of the hair type. The key is using what works best for you to maintain & retain healthy beautiful hair. 🤷🏾♀️

This was a very wondeful video.. verrrry informative. I had already had the paddle brush part down but not with the ends. So am going to try your technique from now on.
I do not use leave in conditioners when I straighten my hair. We don’t want heavy products on our hair when we put a flat iron to it. We need products specifically for heat styling. But I use it with natural hairstyles.
Knowing your hair type helps understand the way your hair behaves which can in turn contribute to length retention. Understanding that my hair type is protein sensitive allowed for me to understand why certain products didn't agree with my hair even though so many others see success with it. Also, leave in conditioners are beneficial if you're using the right one for you. It shouldn't be causing damage. Most benefit from it.
@@DK-qj7crhair is primarily (85-95%) keratin, a protein, and the rest is lipids, water, minerals and pigments. Protein is necessary but too much of a good thing can be harmful. Overuse of hair products with protein can cause “protein overload”, an excessive accumulation of protein on the outer layer (cuticle) of the hair resulting in stiffness, loss of elasticity and breakage. I hope that answers your question.😊

Looks awesome 👏🏾👏🏾 I don’t think it’s proper for professionals to be using comb attachments and stuff like the rev air and what not either. If I can use a blow dryer and brush at home, I expect the professional so be able to do that too. I find all that other stuff to be lazy and I honestly saw damage to my curls from using a comb attachment, I don’t have those problems any more since switching to using a paddle brush and the concentrator nozzle 😊
Stretching the hair is just to see the length. As a natural, I do not use heat, period. I just stick with regular regular wash, conditioning and wash n go or twist/braid out!!! Great job!
@stephaniepink9060 She's getting a silk press. In order to accomplish this you have to have blown out hair and finish with a flat iron or pressing comb. Beautiful! You have such blessed hands. Did you say you use a heat protectant and then rinse it out before blow drying the hair? Does the heat protectant continue protecting the hair even after it’s rinsed out?
