  • Bobcat L28 mini loader flips on its side where it laid for 12 hours. We flip it over and check for engine oil on top of pistons which can hydro lock and damage an engine if not properly repaired.

    Dude I love your videos. I own a concrete construction company and have 6 bobcat skid loaders. Oldest is a 95 up to only a couple years old. I love to work on them and fix most stuff myself. I really appreciate the time, trial and error, and money you have helped me save keeping these things running great. Keep up the cool videos!

    On that jobsite, I would rather have a tracked machine with a skeleton grapple bucket with heat/ac. Then you can fix the grade when necessary and clear the logs / sticks. I think that articulating loader is better suited for a golf course where you are worried about tearing up the turf.

    If that operator near the end was the same fellow that rolled that machine, I can see why.

    • @Average_D
      @Average_D ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely operator error. He had the grapple curled all the way forward and the boom high. If he curled back and lowered the boom once the log was secured, it would be a lot more stable.

    • @jasono2139
      @jasono2139 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Average_D that's not a very stable machine to begin with... and it's only worse with operators who don't pay attention to this fact.

    I'm surprised with all that large heavy equipment in the background they needed to call someone with a crane to lift up the machine? Don't get me wrong I'm glad they called you. Just thinking of what I would have done in that situation.

    • @tetradgroup
      @tetradgroup  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, I think what happened is the machine rolled late Saturday afternoon and no one else on site to operate the other equipment (different company) so I went Sunday morning.

    • @kylesmith2110
      @kylesmith2110 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Only thing that is sketchy is an operator not operating safely that attachment is heavy, and should not be lifted that high during travel.

    • @jonesfarm6501
      @jonesfarm6501 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kylesmith2110 it’s not that heavy

    • @kylesmith2110
      @kylesmith2110 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@jonesfarm6501 it doesn't have to be super heavy, think of it in a forklift aspect the higher you lift the forks the less center of gravity you have and equipment becomes top heavy. That concept applies to all heavy equipment with a boom or over head capability. I've operated Forklifts of all kinds, skidsteers, dozers, excavators, telehandlers, manlifts, scissor lifts, backhoes, articulated front loaders. I have 12 years of operating experience. I can operate anything with a motor. Plus have an OSHA 100 certification. I'm telling you it is heavy. By physics even if that thing only weighs 300 lbs when you lift it above your cab it's like having 1500 lbs on the end of the boom not to mention this guy had the telescopic boom extended losing even more center of gravity.

    • @jasono2139
      @jasono2139 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kylesmith2110... good lord... 🤦
      Hearing someone use the phrase "less center of gravity" and "losing even more center of gravity" just makes me want to 🤦.
      "Center of gravity" is a position... not a quantity.
      ...and in case you need my credentials (since nobody asked for yours), I'm an engineer... and I've operated heavy machinery for 25+ years (since I was 10).

  • @kylesmith2110
    @kylesmith2110 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm going to assume whoever was operating this equipment had the boom up while traveling hit rut and tipped because there was no center of gravity on the tires

    • @jasono2139
      @jasono2139 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not even... just the inertia from turning alone would be enough if the boom was up (as it was) and it wasn't on level ground.
      I nearly flipping over a 12 ton front end loader while SLOWLY maneuvering on a hill side with the boom up... luckily there was a post nearby it rested against so all I had to do was lower the boom.
