July & August are best months -- like more rain & more greenary -- We had vacations only in Sep, so we visited in that month. But U can see the beauty and lush green mountains same like July & August

Officially there is no permission to fly Drone in Salalah -- But ask local police / Security before flying in Salalah -- They are bery helping & cooperative

Yess its true -- Patrol pumps are far away on road -- If u have less mileage -- Keep extra Patrol cane with you -- 10 / 20 litr whatever -- keep 500 Km in your mind from 1 fuel station to another one -- where ever you find patrol pump on your side , refill tank -- Dont take any risk in Desert -- Good luck

For communication and navigation have you bought SIM card in oman. It is better to book hotel or furnished flat.
