The World Islands. A collection of 300 man-made islands built off the coast of Dubai to resemble an outline of the EARTH FROM THE SKY… Yet, after $13 billion was spent to complete them they’ve mostly been sitting there empty... I couldn’t believe this place actually existed.
So as a first stop on my trip I flew to Dubai to understand what happened and what their future holds… What are your thoughts? Amazing or too crazy of an idea?
Thank you to @MyDubai and @VisitDubai for helping us get in touch with the creators of these islands and for letting us go out to see the restricted areas.

I have so many questions though. Ecological and economic concerns. Did the construction of the islands drive away marine life? Where did the brought-in sand come from and what methods did they use to make sure that the original place of the sand didn’t suffer any ecological disaster? Have they lost any money due to the slow buying process of the islands? etc. etc.
No to be a downer but to answer your questions:
"Did the construction of the islands drive away marine life?"
Yes
"Where did the brought-in sand come from"
The bottom of the ocean, destroying numerous marine habitats in the process.
"what methods did they use to make sure that the original place of the sand didn’t suffer any ecological disaster?"
Essentially none as far as I can tell.
They dredge the sand to create the island. Aka they take it from the sea floor and essentially pile it up into an island. The ship at 3:22 is doing this. It’s definitely bad for marine life
And stupid.
Shut up
I was very disapointed to not see any of those questions adressed

The building of these islands has a big impact on marine life. The sand is taken from ocean floor, wich gets destroyed in the process, losing countless coral reefs and marine flora. All for what?

You can typically intuitively (and visually) detect how a person feels about his/herself. With the money and assets that chairman has, it's highly probably he knows he is very powerful. The Chairman also knows which buttons to push on that interview for the youtube community. pretty big advertising for your islands. I guess his hole trip was payed by them. Nevertheless cool video and beatiful sceneries.
PS: the merchandise advertisement in the beginning looks kinda weird with what is shown after that: pure unncessary luxury & waste of recourses.
I think this video is sponsored as well tbh! btw, if you’re interested I also have a channel with vlogs from London. Feel free to check it out ❤️🙌🏻
I see nothing wrong with what they do. Dubai is way ahead of most first world countries.
Loved this video. Dubai really is a risk taker and it shows. Love living in the UAE 🇦🇪
I second you on that bro, right here in Dubai. 🤲🏽🤲🏽

I hope UAE disappears from existence.
Yh Dubai's slave labour do be hitting tho.
Probably because they have so much oil money they can waste
Love the ECO / Sustainability / Organic company moves!!!! Great news!!!

Nice sunset view 🙂☀️

RIP all the sea life that used to be there.
I saw some video that claimed it actually increased in the palm island or new sea life came
Yes, because they couldn't just swim a few yards to the left...
@@dumptruckintruthduke seems like you know much about sea life, props to you...

Great content!
So impressive! Absolutely beautiful!❤
This is cool. Love how Thomas is STILL making content even though he's not with the guys.
What happened?
That is one of the reasons he made that decision - for the YES Theory!
@@carljenkinson4300 His visa expired, so he temporarily moved back to Sweden or France, not sure which one, but he took a detour via Dubai.

Gotta do what you gotta do right?💪🏼
I definitely think you should watch the documentary “Sand Wars” and how detrimental this whole project was to indigenous islands.
Greeting to you and may thy lord be your strength, I'm Ruth Anderson. A converted born again Christian suffering from coronavirus disease in New York City Hospital, an aging widow and childless to late Anderson who died 2years ago.I inherited all his business and wealth which is too much for me. but my doctors has advised me that i may not live for more than few weeks due to the symptoms of the disease. So i now decided to divide part of this wealth to the development of the church and poor ones,or to any good person who can use the money for the good work of God ! Consider it a divine wish and accept it with a deep sense of humility. May thy lord safe us from this Covid-19 pandemic happening in this world! Surely goodness, mercy and divine favour shall envelope you today and always. God is with you. 😢😢 ❤️✝️🙏 Email: anderru9@aol.com

You did good By interviewing the chairman. Seems like a humble man even though he has been so successful in the past. Wish them all the success! This was honest man
