Look up UK physiotherapist Anna Crowle whose research is based on the concept that relaxation is required; her belief is that kegels cause more tension around scar tissue in the pelvic floor, which makes prolapse feel worse.

I had a pessary for a day, and it was very uncomfortable--to the point where it hurt to walk. When I went back, my doctor said everything looked fine. Do you have any idea why it might have been so irritating to me?

Go back to your Dr and try a different size or a different type of pessary. You shouldn’t feel it if it fits correctly. Sometimes it take several trips to Dr or fittings . Don’t get discouraged. It happens to many women.

Prolapse can happen with age too and lifting heavy boxes. It is a muscle weakness.

Hi Julie - it's incredibly hard to be told that you can't do something again. In my experience, a good clinician should help you get back to doing the things you love. I was told not to lift weights again and I do that three times a week alongside walking and climbing mountains - but it was a process to get to this point. Most drs suggest weight loss, which takes downward pressure off internal lower organs.

I’m 26 now and started having it at 24. I also had a chronic cough which I feel caused it because I have not had kids yet. It’s very possible. Mine is about grade 3 now

Hey is your pblm is still there . Menstrual cups can cause prolapse if u pull it harder without removing the suction effect. Watch you tube videos how to remove mensural cup properly without getting prolapse. If ur pblm is still there start kegel exercises , stop using mensural cups , weight control. I can't guarantee you but it might help u. Note that mensural cuo do cause prolapse if u are not removing it properly.
