    Thank you! I am in my mid 60's and I had my first major surgery, hip replacement, about 10 weeks ago. Now I'm seeing a urogynecologist for prolapse that was discovered shortly before the hip surgery. When I left the urogynecologist's office, I was set on surgery being the best option for me. But, I'm really not fully recovered from the hip replacement and definitely not excited about having another surgery.. You two provided more information and confidence in the pessary as a viable option. Back to the 'drawing board' for me.

    The doctor was very thorough and articulate however, shouldn't she have held up a pessary?
    Someone who has no idea what they look like are going to listen to this and have no idea what a pessary actually is.

    I have a stage 3 bladder prolapse it’s been very painful and very uncomfortable when sitting, when walking I feel it all the way down I had to go out of work for a while so for me I don’t feel comfortable putting the ring and better having surgery, but I’m scared to go through it.

    How often does prolapse fail? Excellent video. Thank you very much. Does a rectal prolapse double every pelvic floor prolapse? I remember the hollow items. They were drying for sure easier when I was younger.

    I live in Upstate New York and my obgyn just jammed it in told me to walk & squat. I had no clue what to expect or feel. So I felt it & told him. He yanked it out & jammed the next size up in.. I said it was better & he said ok & left. No instruction other than use lube & rinse it. I've haven't been able to move my bowels properly & today I pushed so hard to poo that the pessary came down to my vagina opening. I want to come Orlando to see a doctor who can explain & actually help me.

    Is there a ban on actually showing a pessary? A video with pessary in the title and we don't get to see one or see a demonstration of its insertion using a model.

    Mine kept slipping to the side and then I would be bleeding I would have to go back to the doctor, happened several times. At first I got one that was bigger, then I went to the urogynocologist she gave me a smaller one and that one slipped too. It was very painful., sometimes I could not walk for a day. I am considering surgery, but I am afraid of the mesh deteriorating some 10 or 15 years from now and have to live with a deteriorating mesh on my Uretha and have it affect it and be in a lot of pain. Help

    I've had prolapse bladder for 4 years, and was just fitted for one, but it was too big, (size 4) as it hurt right away in the office, but this dingbat nurse ignored me. Then I came right back, then she put in a cube pessary and told me not to take it out for two weeks. The next evening, I took it out, because it was causing light brown discharge, and I was nervous because evey where I read it said to take the cube out every night, but this nurse told me differently. I did not like her, and have lost any trust in returning to her, yet I need a pessary.

    I'm having a brutal experience 1yr 5 after a total hysterectomy May 2021.. Sever constipation. I had not had sex since Jan 2022 then had a lumbar fusion. So this month October I had sex and it was the worse pain I've felt during sex. The vaginal entry is where all the pain is. We used lubricant it did not help. I am going to PCP.

      Pessaries alter vaginal flora, often producing a thin, watery and physiologic discharge.
      This discharge does not need to be treated unless there is itching burning or odor

    Will running with a pessary prevent a prolaspe from getting worse?

    • @myPelvicFloorMuscles
      @myPelvicFloorMuscles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sarah Shaw In theory yes- the Pessary is helping to support the organs, connective tissue, and providing stability for the pelvic floor. However to my knowledge, there has not been any research that has studied this. And because prolapse symptoms and presentation can vary so much, it would be a difficult thing to study! Have you see my video on internal support options?

    Can a pessary reverse a mild vaginal prolapse?

    • @LynneWright
      @LynneWright 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only surgery can reverse prolapse. You can only support with pessary. There might be slight improvement. Unless you want children, if your prolapse goes past the hymen, I would have a hysterectomy for uterine prolapse.
