Tarpon Toad

Great fly for fishing tarpon in the keys. Also very good for fishing for redfish snook and other flats species.

Materials
Hook - Gamakatsu SL12 S Short
Eyes - Large mono eyes
Tail - Magnum Bunny strip
Collar - Cross cut rabbit, Schlappen
Body - Baitfish hair
Foul guard - 40lb Mason hard mono

Why would you tie it in upside down ? That would make it try to flip over and possible fowl.

It’s debated if it’s a crab or shrimp. Just call it a suspending crustacean that tarpon see as an easy meal.
