    Idk how I feel about ChatGPT-generated lyrics in a language you don't speak...it might have been better to consult with a Japanese speaker from the get-go
    As a native Hungarian I know that tools like Google translate and AI are actually very clumsy with translating phrases and sentences accurately. Perhaps it's better with Japanese since it's a more common language and there's more training data, but I still feel uneasy about the idea of writing lyrics this way

    You've got absolutely fabulous episodes. As an idea, what if you left spoken parts in the music where you speak about sounds.. you already kind have done that many times when you do live, it is nice addition to music when keep talk parts in final recording, as kind of talk over remix version of the song.

    Thank you for sharing your musical journey with us. As an old person whose musical journey has left him behind, I still love making music that I would love to hear, even if only for my friends and family. Started my producing journey in 2004, self-taught from deejaying to producing. Had so many hurdles and challenges along the way, gave up on it due to so many other things 😢. But my daughters got me back into it again and am so happy to get back to the groove. 😊

    Well, in defence of Rachel, of course she used ChatGPT, she doesnt know how to speak Japanese and project was: release 5 songs in different language. Awesome, keep making music. ☮🎶

    There is another answer.... I couldn't believe that this song just reached over 60 million streams worldwide and became the Eurovision 2024 entry representing Italy. This is due to the fusion of Latin and EDM rhythms with the Italian language, along with its unique arrangement and instrumentation.

    Creativity should have no boundaries and that includes the language you choose to use. You are the creator so you make the decisions. Listening to the tracks you have produced over the last few years tells my ears you're making good decisions. Never listen to the detractors because nine times out of ten they don't actually know what they're talking about anyway. Great tune.

    Honestly, I've thought about using AI for lyrics before, but I was scared of the backlash I'd get for doing so, and that was a long time ago. I feel like using AI for lyrics is not worth it, even if it's just a backdrop. What are your thoughts about AI in art and the implications, both ethical and other? I feel like you just dropped it in there without elaborating.

    It’s very cool to ear other languages than English. Being a French Canadian, most of the music we are earring is English and some local French, but earring a Japanese song like yours is really refreshing. And so, you are: refreshing. Thanks Rachel for the excellent work you are doing! ❤

    Thank you for sharing this track and this process with us. I don't think there should be a restraint on using any language. I enjoy Spanish or even Japanese songs and I don't understand the language. I enjoy many songs in English when I can't understand all of the words.
    I personally have been experimenting with using syllables that are not anchored to any language. Like a rap song that has all of the complexity of a language but is actually not one. It's just totally improvised syllables. It is extremely easy and fun to hit the meter and even rhyme when you are completely free from trying to convey linguistic meaning.

  • @alanredversangel
    @alanredversangel 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Did you just say 132 tracks?! How do you justify it? Not that it needs justifying,but how do you allow yourself to add that many without thinking youre overcooking it?

    • @mrclaytron
      @mrclaytron 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      132 tracks doesn't mean there are 132 tracks playing at once!
      Also, if you start looking into multi tracking your instruments and vocals, tracks can add up quickly (look up Phil Spector's"Wall of Sound" technique). I personally multi track all my guitars, and most vocals. I usually easily hit 80+ tracks in my own songs.
      132 is a lot, but nothing out of the ordinary - Rachel sounds like she does a lot of stacked vocal tracking in many of her songs, so that will account for a lot of tracks, although I am just speculating.

    1:05 Thanks for saying that aloud. I'm not a musician, but on the occasions life requires me to be a creative and decisive, I always err on what I would want as the solution. It seems so narcissistic, and perhaps it is, but if it's not good enough for me, who's it good enough for...? I certainly wouldn't want to deliver something to a client that I wouldn't accept in their situation.

    Fantastic video, just what i needed to get inspired again after a dip following a pretty intense period with a project. Lots of great advice here! I think the song is great, fun to have something different and the production quality and sonics are recognisable RKC even though it’s a bit of a different vibe. Love Sally’s vocals on this! I think you were right going ahead and publishing this, it adds to the variety of songs in your catalogue, it shows us that you can go with the flow and do what feels fun for you and now its there for the future. Suddenly someone over in Japan is going to pick up on you and find this song and then you’ve hit the ground running. In short - love it, continue following your instincts! ❤
