- I visit with Buell Motorcycle during bike week to evaluate their concept Super Cruiser Motorcycle, get a feel for the ergonomics, its technology and view the overall fit and finish of the bike before a conducting an interview with Buell's Chris Probanz on how Buell plans to bring this concept to life, the ordering process and production logistics. Buell performance cruisers is what's needed . The feathers from all companies need to be ruffled
If it comes to market in any appreciable numbers like 5000+ units, it will.

The owner of Buell had his feet held to the fire during this interview and still managed to nail the it. I hope he sells a ton of these bikes. Seems like they are hitting the market running.
Enthusiasm is high, let’s hope they can get the parts they need manufactured in the quantity they need them!
I would surely like to see updated tech for sure, but beautiful bike indeed. Absolutely ballsy to flat out ask about the dealer fees bro, and your exactly right, consumers just want to be treated fairly, I buy and sell several bikes annually, I wouldn't buy anything new from Harley for the simple fact of all the unreasonable fees, if you treat customers honorably, that's a lifetime customer, or you can screw em 1 time, and they'll never buy another anything from you. This build/bike is going to take off! Leaving HD behind in the companies old ways! Buell has 2 yrs to really work on the fine details that and really get the marketing out there for this fine specimen! I'm digging it so far! And I dont need a clothing store to sell me hats and t shirts, I'll let the bike do my talking! And let the haters stare at me as im crusing! Lets gooo Buell!

I agree, reserved spot is for banks, marketing, and advertising as everyone talks about the bike their gonna buy lol. Smart. Curious how servicing/ networking works out before I get to excited. With out service you’ll have a 20,000 dollar paper weight in about 5 years. That all said, I love the bike. Have had a performance fxr, currently own a built dyna (my dyna is better….sorry). Hope to see this Buell in production. Thank you for video.👍🏻

I agree. I hope they update that plastic box to something more appealing. The ECM has programmable track modes with diagnostics suitable for a legit race bike, so there will be a smart display of some sort. If they choose to only offer preset modes then it’s possible there will be a analog gauge with a small lcd window to toggle through and select the modes but after meeting them in person I feel they are so bent on proving themselves to the world they’ll go in a fully digital direction. But we’ll see.

I agree. We don’t know how much investment capital is involved, we know the assets were acquired in liquidation, so cost of goods sold will be initially very low compared to other manufacturers bringing a bike to market. Maybe Polaris or HD invests if the cruiser and tourer concept bikes take off.

Pretty much. You could buy a FXR style frame from Paul Yaffee and build it up using S&S.
Not really the engine isn't even close nether is the suspension and they can't make a 450 pound bike.

It’s a pandemic in itself. Consumers need to stand their ground and when dealers realize we’re not buying the problem will temporality resolve, unless we tell everyone when msrp is breached just say no thank you and walk away.

I think Bombardier owns Rotax thus they make engines for Skidoo and Can Am ect.
Correct! The parent company is Canadian Bombardier Recreation Products 🇨🇦
The rotax motor is bulletproof, a lot of flat trackers use them also KTM used them for awhile
@@jamespolucha8790 There are many Models of Rotax engines including many for small airplanes. KTM used Rotax engines before Bombardier bought them I am guessing.. Also the Can Am Motorcycles built by Bombardier used Rotax engines.. as do the 4 stroke Skidoos , the Can Am Spyder and Can-Am side by sides. Bombardier also bought Evinrude Outboards and got their Direct Injection two stroke technology from there .

Buell calls it the super tourer, it’s their other concept bike. I’m told it’s 18 months behind the super cruiser.

I did. A moto GP track in Jennings, Florida. Though it’s not Hallet Motor Racing Circuit in Colorado.

I’m really hoping for this myself but I’m still skeptical seems that they still aren’t talking production timeline as far as when they think they’ll be starting at least. I know 2025 is the goal but I feel like it’s so far away when they don’t have anything ready except the motor. I’m also wanting to know, exactly how close do they expect the actual production model to be to this prototype??? I know emissions will have a field day on basics like exhaust n so on but do they plan on having it basically be THIS bike? They’re also still securing their network so if this becomes a 2026, 2027 model, hype could be gone n people won’t care anymore. I wonder about that too. Or what if Harley decides to get their act together, and produce something similar since they already have the infrastructure and resources to go to market say in 2024. A lot of stuff…… I guess we’ll just have to see what plays out. Harley must be so butt hurt by letting another brand basically swoop this cuz it’s on-brand for Harley yet they’re letting this happen.
These are my concerns too. In these conservative times for HD I feel they’ll wait to see if the super cruiser comes to market in any real volume, 3000-5000+ units sold then expect Buell to be reclaimed by HD In a cash purchase or release an ICON FXR tribute bike

Tesla did the same thing with the Cyber Truck with a 500 dollar deposit. I honestly believe it's more of a gauge of public interest, but it may be for loan purposes. I've not looked into Tesla's finances.
At $50 it’s a good way to gauge interest. It’s estimated they collected over 14k slot deposits the last time I checked

Hi MoTremor. For all accounts Erik has not publicly disclosed his opinion on the Super Cruiser. I believe he, like us are waiting to see it reach production and on the streets. Erik recently released a statement reaffirming that he is not associated with Buell but rather associated with his new company Fuell. They make electric bikes.

I hope this is a thing and it’s a great bike and great seller…..but I’m extremely skeptical. The 1190 engine is pretty maintenance intense with the valves needing to be at least checked and possibly shimmed every 6k miles and chains eating swingarms if you aren’t diligent. That much horsepower, being a v-twin and reliability/user friendliness do not go hand in hand
Interesting! This warrants a deeper dive on my part, no one wants a garage queen bike, the goal here is a high performance riding machine, not a spec sheet winner. Thank you for sharing this info!
Looks amazing, but don't get your hopes up. Next to nothing on this bike will resemble it after the EPA gets to it. That antiquated screen has to go.
Roland will have a field day selling everyone his hard parts to make the bike look like this concept version.

Fair assessment, but there’s some context that’s absent with some pre and post interview conversations and what not. They wanted to drive home the point that Buell is different and very pro consumer. I really appreciate you Eric, you’ve watched a few of my videos and have commented, I really appreciate that. I’m feeling my way through this, my personality is in everything I do, and I’m not just one or two things, I can be a ham and I can be introverted, I can be very blunt and sometimes snarky if the situation tolerates it. But it’s all me, I won’t put on a facade, act or pretend there’s too many others out there who do that. However I realize I can be wrong and misjudge a situation just like a corner and ride off the road, so if I do you let me know.

Elon said its easy to make a prototype.... its hard to actually build a car. There seems to be a lot of questions. I wonder if the cash to build these bikes exists and where the intend to manufacture these bikes. 2025 may be super long shot for this to be a production bike.
Agreed, that’s why I filled both barrels with some tough questions and in my vlog alluded that slot deposits are for securing bank financing. It wouldn’t surprise me if the bike isn’t available until 2027, I do believe it won’t include many of the prototype parts supplied by RSD, too costly and unique and probably patented by RSD and require a licensing agreement to use for a production bike. Buell can secure a third party to manufacture at a less cost at a similar build quality. We’ll have to wait and see.

I think they're being kind of sloppy in the way they're presenting the bike. Like, the FAQ on the deposit (which I've made) even contains contradictory info, like them first saying it's refundable and then that it's not. Also, the motorcycle was basically built by some custom workshop, not really Buell. I don't know, that is weird to me. And why the hell would they wait sooo long to start production? I don't know, I guess we'll just have to blind follow them, but I hope they can step up their game when it comes to basic info and marketing of the bike.
Listening to Throttle Blip he was interviewing the Ceo under the tent and he stated he had the idea 18 months ago and presented it to Roland Sands and Sands presented 2 sketches.
I’m totally going on faith at this point.
@Kenny Quest Show In my opinion it is the right product at the right time. Hopefully the timeliness doesn't expand and it becomes dated. The tease of the Bronx is a dated memory. Hopefully Buell doesn't follow suit.
@@carlbruhn1772 some say the Bronx could be released if HD wanted to do that. In either case only time will tell.
@Kenny Quest Show The Bronx was designed years prior to the rev max engine. What I'm trying to say is technology is moving forward plus EPA regs here in the states and Euro 6 in Europe if you drag your feet in production with a budgeted goal you lose the intended affect. The Bronx with a sportster Evo motor would flop. Added cost to engineer the Bronx is a must. Contending with advanced electronics that sport riders demand is costly. I would consider the Buell in a second for ownership. The Bronx with a 5 year lag needs reworking to compete.

Why not buy a sport bike? About the same price,difference is a European or Japanese sport bikes have much more usable technology.
I test a rode a KTM Duke 890, video coming soon, and rode an Indian FTR (video posted). So I’m exploring that. But this sport cruiser checks all the boxes for me, comfort, performance, looks, and that “bad ass” feeling. 🤷🏼♂️
Surprised this bike has chain drive rather than belt or shaft.
Also, you spent some time talking about the lack of touch screen. Touch screens are unreliable and useless when you're wearing gloves. Frankly I would rather have big buttons that work when I'm wearing heavy gloves.
The final drive is based on their super bikes, also it’s typical for fxr and dyna performance builds to feature chain conversions due to the increased performance.
@@KennyQuestShow How much does a chain improve performance over a belt, really? IMO, the added reliability (for a street bike, maybe not so much for a track bike) and zero maintenance is well worth sacrificing a tiny bit of power.
@@redin575 efficiency. chain drives gives the advantage of more power compared to belts. It can be used for both small and large center distances. Chain drives have lower maintenance cost, albeit more frequent. They give a transmissions efficiency of up to 98 percent of its useable range.
owned an RSs still have an broken XB, all that electronic shite you can garbage in the bin, including abs, im 60 and I dont want it, yah yah yah.
Good thing is you can run it without any abs or traction control enabled.

There was a “sure” in there to start it off, so dealers have a pass to do what they do, it’s up to us to not reward them with our money. Find a dealer who doesn’t play games, reward them.
