@@KennyQuestShow I’ve had that happen on my channel too…a comment with no reason to be held was in the “hold” box…now I make a point to check there every couple days. 😊
What they are going to be selling is a hand built to order bike this isn’t going to be cheap so $25 to $30k is pretty good. The original concept bike was never going to be able to go into production so the changes are understandable . I just hope they start selling them sooner rather than later but I don’t see them selling 5000 a year without dealership backup .
Good point, early adopters will risk it, but the mainstream buyer wants dealer support. If there is no dealer near you, Buell will ask you upon purchase which three dealers in your area do you trust and Buell will then attempt to onboard one of them as your area dealer
Five thousand to six thousand is less than one hundred fifty per state. Of those, how many are going to be "out in the wild", and not just garage trophies? Who knows, they may put a small dent in the market.
The prototype was THE ONE. This revised version is just another awkward looking Buell that's incredibly over priced. They even tuned it down! You never go down in power, at least not for a finalized version. The prototype RIPPED and had a design nod to Dyna's, which made it really atheistically pleasing. WTF is going with the wheel base? Why was that shortened? WTF is that Grom front tire doing in those horrendous forks??? They screwed it all up and this new version is just hot garbage, especially for the price. For less than 25k, you can build a SIKK powerful Dyna with some great bells and whistles that'll blow this "frankengrom" off the road. What a freaking disappointment. Sux too, because the prototype was looking REALLY good. Oh well, back to my Super glide I suppose, and back to the drawing board for Buell. Idiots.
That price point is as expected for a175hp cruiser. I know there's carryover party's from other bikes, but that's all accessory stuff most people want to replace anyways. The heart of the bike is still a very performance oriented cruiser, with a lot of opportunity for customizing and tailoring it to personal taste. While the price is out of my personal range, I don't think it's unreasonable. This was never going to be a bike for the people, it was always going to be for the collectors and enthusiasts. And the exhaust is of course not as cool as the custom bike, it has to have a catalytic converter. Thankfully I live in Idaho and there's no emissions laws for motorcycles. I can put whatever straight pipe exhaust on it i want.
Buell is also a made in America motorcycle, and the performance specs off a showroom floor beat out almost every other motorcycle on the market. Those points are pretty sweet to those who are interested
Excellent points. Spec wise it’s on par with a Diavel S and Rocket III BUT with those offerings they come with premium accessories. Outside of the Harley world owners of bikes typically (due to lack of third party support) run what comes with bike or choose accessories offered from the manufacturer for grips and seats, etc. Third party exhaust withstanding I feel for 28-30k Ohlins or WP suspension, quick shifter up and down and adjustable powder coated levers should be standard.
Wow! My balloon just got deflated.🧐 I’ve always loved Buell products. When I saw this concept I immediately jumped on the wagon depositing my $50 ticket for the future production bike. The production price was never a concern and for most of the customers who are intrigued by that concept would probably agree with me that the hardcore grip and rip was the motivation for the interest. We knew early on that putting it into production would require the use of existing parts. Again not a huge concern knowing it was to keep the cost down a bit. Now we’re seeing a bike that’s been euthanized and certainly not the sick ass looking hooligan bike that our hopes rested on. I guess we will never see the days again where real inspirational enthusiasts like Roland and Eric will be allowed to produce the pure awesomeness that people look for. We gotta love that good ole California influence stepping on everyone’s necks. Super Disappointed!!! 😤
Basically the concept bike is the price of an Arch brand motorcycle. If you can spend that money you’ll get the Ohlins and all the RSD parts. So yeah we were hood winked but our $50 contributed to potentially an American comeback story
Oooff $45,000AUD is quite a lot for a bike with limited/dated tech. Of course it's performance (and looks) oriented but, come on, for that price tag you need the complete package! Not to mention a lot of the parts are from _existing_ Buell bikes. God, I want it, I want it so bad, but I think right now I'll be going with a Sport Chief for ~$10,000 less, with up-to-date tech, and (probably) better aftermarket support.
The Sport Chief and a low rider S, preowned or new, in comparison are bargains. A rocket III is the most comparable specification wise and price wise, which is better…to be continued
It will for sure. But will anyone care? The old Buell’s, the Triunph Rocket III and later the Ducati Diavel have been smoking ‘em since the mid 2000’s. Harley’s feel a certain way, sound a certain way and respond a certain way that the other brands don’t capture. Speed is part of the experience, but once you hit 100mph most Harley riders don’t care they roll back, hoot and resume cruising
Its a small company offering a brand new model with high quality fit and finish with premium componets. Its gonna be expensive. 450 lbs, 170 hp, sportbike level suspension and handling, compare that to say the harley low rider cruiser and you get 600 lb bike with garbage suspension, crap brakes, and 70 less horse power.
There’s still some unreleased information. Suspension. Today I rode a $7k Royal Enfield super meteor with Showa emblazoned on the top of the fork tubes. I was impressed. But for $30k I expect Buell to have a premium solution similar to what Ducati and Triumph offer at the same price. I’d rather them include it and be over $30k than not include it. However the engineer said in the video “people just will change them to what they want” when discussing BOM reuse parts like controls and indicators. Well that can apply to many of the parts on any bike at $15-$20k but should not at $30k for a mid size cruiser.
It’s likely they could have, but with higher volume comes increased opportunity for more of everything, warranty issues, dealer support, more parts. I’m sure they ran the numbers and feel they can sell the magic number of bikes at $27k to support the company’s efforts.
@@myleshopkins2529 yes I agree, but heard me out.. just with a few mods the FTR is fast very fast… and if being a hooligan is what you want the FTR is perfect for that, and also comes with TC and ABS standard… and in my opinion and this is matter of taste the FTR looks better
@@davincho1111 oh I totally agree the ftr is the better bang for the buck, but this bike is able to achieve something that other "cruiser" type bikes can't achieve. Unfortunately this price tag reflects that for now where this is such a small named company. I hope this bike succeeds in its own right even though I'll never be able to afford one to achieve slightly better performance than my current bike. It's an amazing machine with phenomenal numbers with an extremely low weight, that's what that price tag pays for. This bike isn't for everybody, it's for that niche group of riders. But like I say, I hope they succeed if for no other reason than to bring more competition to Harley and Indian inside the cruiser market.
Man, I really can’t see this thing making it anywhere other than in the hands of collectors. They’ve really had to cut some corners to get it to market. And with a potential $30k price tag? Without even basic rider modes or any racing electronics. It’s gonna be a niche sel for sure. Also I’m sorry, did you say $700 for that shorty exhaust? I could make that with a pipe saw and the stock pipe in 10 minutes
That’s what was told $700. The software has road and track modes already it will be the same software that is currently in their other road bikes that are currently shipping.
It’s already going to be close to 30K, those who forked over the down payment gonna be pissed. I would be. Considering the dealer support and parts are non existing. Those who remember what happens to Buell the last 2 iterations , I am sure may remember., For the Money a HD or Indian, that’s what Buell will be facing. Personally even If I was in the Market I would not do it. I expect Buell short lived attempt. I hope I am wrong would like to see another option. Time will tell. Wish them luck
Idk those mirrors are ugly and that gauge needs to be round maybe a duel round would be cool! It’s really more of a naked than I originally thought! I don’t feel it compares to the low rider s. More the MT 08 or Kawasaki.
Might as well buy a Harley with a dealer supply system. I will wait and see how it develops but 30 k is way to much to pay to be a ginny-pig for a once failed project and possibly get stuck with a one off lemon. If it works out a used one will be available in a couple years. Meanwhile I will stick with the ol reaud glide.
My neighbor owns a new Harley and I've seen the electrical design and it looks pretty cheaply made..As soon as you pay 30 thousands bucks and drive it of the lot, cut ✂️ the price in half or more..
This is awsome but painful. The struggle for return sucks. I will never forgive Harley for what they did to this company and honestly themselves. If the company and that new CEO pulled the stick out of their butt and looked at the big picture with more forsight both companies would be in such a better place. How dare they get them to where they were at, making some great stuff all with a fight. Buell established themselves fighting in spite of Harley endlessly yanking the reigns back the entire time just to kill them. Its like they were scared Buell would grow to surpass them with bikes people wanted and were to scared to build themselves. Both were stronger together covering the entire market. Now HD is building the same kind of things now that Buell was already doing 17 years ago and they arnt even as good. Just dumbasses. As a Buell owner since 03 and lover since the begining I wish them all the best, but damn HD sucks and will never buy anything they sell because I just dont trust their wishy washy stay in the 1930s attitude.
Good points. Unfortunately it costs big bucks to produce a motorcycle for sale to the public that meets regulations and we are seeing how a concept becomes a reality on a shoestring budget in comparison to what Harley can do in these modern times.
They pulled an Elon Musk.....price went way up and some of the promised aspects/aesthetics went away. To many options including building a totally custom FXR when you are creeping up on 30k.
Harley won’t compete, especially w the numbers Buell is claiming. Harley is too concerned with catering to the old heads still. I just hope Buell releases AM accessories/performance parts like the SC Project exhaust. That’s the only way I’ll keep my reserve on one.
The SC Project exhaust exists so that’s a third party option for sure. According to Buell you’ll have one factory option and one dealer offered option at launch.
@@KennyQuestShow Didn’t see it on SC website, figured it was an RSD custom part. Would be nice though. Great interview. Wish you got to ride it for a more in-depth review. You seem like a straight shooter, say it how it is type of guy.
You’re right, there’s allot of value and fun factor in a , for example 1987 FXR with a 110ci S&S for $10k than this super cruiser. Perhaps a 2010 speed triple for $4k has as much fun value. Strange times we are in
@@KennyQuestShow don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one of them, but I'm more partial to the old stuff anyway, and my budget is never going to equate to 20k+ for something I can use regularly, maybe 8 months of the year.

Please riddle me this batman. Way less techy pieces than a hammerhead yet it costs more. Kinda feel like Buell is putting the screws to the consumer. Get less, pay more
This Buell bike is getting dumbed down by the minute. Start up boutique niche bikes in relative small numbers aren’t cheap to make. The Norton brand has a billionaire behind it unlike Buell so it’s more workable. At least this channel tells it like it it and is not getting bogged down by all the hype. Anyway I like this Sands designed concept. But yes only worth the price if’s it top of the line components. Cheers NZ.
Thanks for your comments. I believe your correct, Buell needs profits now, whereas a better funded start up would be okay not making a profit for 5 years, which provides flexibility to offer a bike such as what this will be for $20k. But no as you heard they want units in the market which translates as we need cash flow. To be successful in any launch your needs and the public’s interest have to be complimentary.
i understand the concept of the whole thing but the ugly ass radiator is a killer for me i was really looking forward to that beautifal original radiator the exhaust i understand but the rad and the display going cheap cheap is a killer for me
don't know what suspension they are putting on it there will be no software adjustments till they sell enough of them. sonde to me like people need to wait a couple of years before they start to purchase. the first couple of years potentially will be substandard. Over priced as much as I like it. that would be a no for me. They are trying to sell an incomplete design for way to much. Shouldn't be over $20k at this point.
It’s truly a 2014 era tech package. Parts bin accessories and a non Ohlins or WP suspension puts the value right at 20k. But they are going to ask $27k. Then when they don’t sell 3k in the first year, the price will drop to $24, then 3 years will pass and they will have not hit their numbers and whatever inventory is left will be sold at $20-$22k
Utter crap...they want to sell this in a market dominated by the Ducati Diavel...even to compete with the X-Diavel. This Buell (as with all Buells) is ugly to an offensive extent. It's engineering is suspect, especially that ridiculous perimeter brake (give it up Buell, perimeter brakes have failed in every application, dual discs with radial mount calipers is where its at). Draping pseudo Harley "styling" over a high performance motor and running gear has never worked and never will. Nobody... wants this. The "super cruiser" is doomed, and it'll take what is left of Buell with it. Sad, because Buell had some good ideas but they've been wasted through an utter bone-headed insistence on being different. A half-way talented product designer could have made Buell motorcycles something that could have competed with Bimota, but that isn't going to happen. Just my opinion and I could be wrong...but I'm not.
It’s a daunting task to take on the establishment. I applaud them for fighting for a slice of the pie. That said, I expect allot for a $20-$30k performance street bike. Let’s see if they deliver the goods.
30k for a non touring bike is a joke lol 😂 it’s not Harley lmao Harleys are overpriced…. Buell has failed many times. Old buells have no value I had one. No ohlins either, what a joke. 😂😂 gonna fail again if they keep up with the bs and high price
Oh dear, what an awful looking bike. I’ve had two Buells, an S1 Lightning and an 1125CR, would class myself a Buell fan, but they missed the boat here, perhaps it’s what Americans have been waiting for but not my cup of tea.
The price is a no go for me personally. 30K for a naked bike with limited features. I just can't justify the price tag. Great video Kenny.
I agree. I’d still want it but maybe a used one in the future.
I’m sure you felt my concern about price, it’s starting to creep up and I want to see what we’re left with for the asking price.
And i believe the Hammerhead is cheaper.

Just get a old v2 Tuono or any 990 KTM for that matter and throw on some other panels and a different headlight. Boom! super cruiser for the normal people
That’s a budget buster idea!

Need a cover to the shot, nice cover that say buell
Are you referring to the video thumbnail?
What they are going to be selling is a hand built to order bike this isn’t going to be cheap so $25 to $30k is pretty good. The original concept bike was never going to be able to go into production so the changes are understandable . I just hope they start selling them sooner rather than later but I don’t see them selling 5000 a year without dealership backup .
Good point, early adopters will risk it, but the mainstream buyer wants dealer support. If there is no dealer near you, Buell will ask you upon purchase which three dealers in your area do you trust and Buell will then attempt to onboard one of them as your area dealer
Why is the front wheel so small or rear so large looks odd
Buell states both wheels are 17”, the cast rims are of a different design from the rear to the front citing weight distribution advantages.
Five thousand to six thousand is less than one hundred fifty per state. Of those, how many are going to be "out in the wild", and not just garage trophies? Who knows, they may put a small dent in the market.
It’s possible, those numbers do exceed that of some Harley models.
Looks like a moped wheel on the front and two urinalysis cups on the handle bars with a power vision display slapped on for 30k 😂
Yeah even with the concept bike I didn’t like the urinal cups on the bars. They need to be carbon or at least tinted. ☺️
lol'd hard at price tag lmao. FTRs are selling under msrp at $14k.
That they are. Is the additional horse power worth over twice the price more?
Idiots.
Its design is moving toward something else, a super moto bike maybe? Since Buell is a sport bike company I get some of it.
Went from 200 hp to 175. While the price went up. You're better of with a Ducati diavel. At least it has nice detailing.
Or a Rocket III. Though the Buell has a styling cue that leans more toward a traditional cruiser from the 80s and 90s, IMO
❤yuh❤ awesome bike
Noted!
30k lmfao... It will not sale at all. You could ride a road glide for that money. Mark my words this will be the next v rod.
The vrod lasted for 17 years as a model.
Kenny that price he said for that bike 30k I buy a Harley cruiser
I hear ya. It’s even pricier than a new touring model. it’s a legit $20k bike, that’s all.
So yeah we were hood winked but our $50 contributed to potentially an American comeback story
cough cough INDIAN FTR cough
😝
Interviewee very dry compared to Bill Melvin last year. That, along with the price hike, makes me a little less enthusiastic
In the end Buell is being transparent, it’s facts time, the hype up period is over. I appreciate that.
This thing is gonna smoke the harleys in my opinion
It will for sure. But will anyone care? The old Buell’s, the Triunph Rocket III and later the Ducati Diavel have been smoking ‘em since the mid 2000’s. Harley’s feel a certain way, sound a certain way and respond a certain way that the other brands don’t capture. Speed is part of the experience, but once you hit 100mph most Harley riders don’t care they roll back, hoot and resume cruising
Prototype looked awesome. The real deal not so much.
I don’t think that it will really take off. That shock exposed looks really bad.
Underwhelming. I think I can make my IRON 883 just as fast for less.
If buell made it affordable they would have cornered the market
It’s likely they could have, but with higher volume comes increased opportunity for more of everything, warranty issues, dealer support, more parts. I’m sure they ran the numbers and feel they can sell the magic number of bikes at $27k to support the company’s efforts.
No longer enthusiastic at or close to 30K
Indian FTR carbon similar bike around 18k 🤨
I’m curious to see who they award for the suspension contract, too bad it’s not Ohlins, but Racetech and Legends would be good alternates.
An Indian FTR similar? Those are cool bikes, but I don’t see the resemblance in looks or performance
Not a similar bike at all. Completely different power numbers.
That’s Harley roadglide cvo money
I dunno about CVO money but it’s definitely touring chassis money
Good God get rid of that info screen. By the time they decide on a final final final, won’t be anything like the RS bike.
And by the time you’ve customized the bike with parts similar to or exactly like Roland Sands you’ll have spent $35-$40k, is it worth it?
It’s already going to be close to 30K, those who forked over the down payment gonna be pissed. I would be.
Considering the dealer support and parts are non existing. Those who remember what happens to Buell the last 2 iterations , I am sure may remember.,
For the Money a HD or Indian, that’s what Buell will be facing.
Dual analog gauges would be nice, but they are leveraging all existing parts for this bike, thus the LED display,
@@KennyQuestShow no I get it just hope they see this and know what the customer wants! I don’t think that would cost to much! Those mirrors man.
Originally I could of swore 20-22k
You’re correct. They upped it.
That is the popular opinion in this comment section for sure.
My neighbor owns a new Harley and I've seen the electrical design and it looks pretty cheaply made..As soon as you pay 30 thousands bucks and drive it of the lot, cut ✂️ the price in half or more..
This is true.
Good points!
25k maybe. 30k to rich for me.
Right? It’s a tipping point.
For 30k you can have a fully customized Lowrider S with a 117 upgrade and custom exhaust. This shit is so overrated now.
And in the new tabacoo fade color way
IMO, there isnt a bike out there worth over $20k. Im not even too keen on spending more than $5k on a bike.
@@davidvaughn7778 I'm with you. If I had it to spend, I'd probably get three different types of bikes to enjoy that just the one.
A nice Harley can be bought for that price. 100 pounds of torque? Thats nothing.
Indeed it can.
even a 143ci HD can't touch it's power to weight, heck I'd even square up a turbo one in the 1/4mi
@@backroadbeetle4781it’s weight, horsepower and looks are its strengths over a comparable Harley.
@@Truthdosentexist69 you're completely disregarding the fact that it makes 175 horsepower lol 100lb-ft and 175 horsepower is insane. Some of the most powerful motorcycles in the world are in the 175hp+ range and even they dont make 100lb-ft of torque
@NicePantsLance watch Hildos Harley vs cbr 1000rr fireblade. The 65 hp Harley has torque, the fireblade dosent.

Backlight and Exust sucks so hard, looks like a kawasaki Vulkan, the rest is awsome
Yeah.. I really liked the frenched tail light Roland Sands made.
Way to much money for that bike crazy expensive
That is the popular opinion!
Please riddle me this batman. Way less techy pieces than a hammerhead yet it costs more. Kinda feel like Buell is putting the screws to the consumer. Get less, pay more
It’s the way of the Penguin, Robin. Funny though I found no other media or TH-cam folk discussing this change in value for the consumer.
Too much money, regards Richard London UK 🇬🇧

i understand the concept of the whole thing but the ugly ass radiator is a killer for me i was really looking forward to that beautifal original radiator the exhaust i understand but the rad and the display going cheap cheap is a killer for me
I agree the radiator is a design issue, they painted it on this round. But still..thanks for commenting!
Exhaust looks crude.
But it’s EPA and CARB compliant
don't know what suspension they are putting on it there will be no software adjustments till they sell enough of them. sonde to me like people need to wait a couple of years before they start to purchase. the first couple of years potentially will be substandard.
Too much $$$
