Wow! He turned a soldering iron into…… well, a soldering iron!
If you didn’t grasp the concept of what he did then please do everyone a favour and stay far far away from tools before you hurt someone
Soldering iron companies are discouraging electronics in USA.I learned professional soldering on gov projects using alloy tips and good solder no pitting on tips and little crud copper tips disinaagrate, and look at the suppliers they're making money with junk!!!Names like Unger were good and antex
@@samspade4050 What he did is stupid. He should learn how to solder properly instead of showing such ridiculous nonsense.
@@GettingNervous To look at this in a slightly different light, he has 387k views in 6 months. That' will bring in some of that sweet youtube money!
@@clarencegreen3071 And 3,120 likes prove that there are at least 3,120 stupid people.
Turn the iron on and tighten the tip.
Smooth ceramic will not sharpen anything.
589K subs....much better than 2...
Thank you for watching
No, but rough ceramic sure will.
I guess I don't see the point of spending that much effort to remove the center electrode to hack a soldering tip when you can make one with something like copper wires.
I used this part of spark plug because it has high thermal conductivity.

This explains the term "full circle". From a perfectly able soldering iron to waddaya know a working soldering iron, by simply changing the tip.
Thank you! Cheers!

Boas ideias

I always used an old ceramic saucer for sharpening scissors, your idea looks more efficient, thank you. Never cut toward yourself when using a knife, it could lead to some serious lacerations, an easier method of cutting notches would be to use a bench grinder, an angle grinder, or even a file. Instead of trying to tie a knot into your cotton, simply wind it stiffly around the wood and then apply some super glue whilst still holding the end of the cotton in your free hand, once the glue has been set, cut the loose strand off.

For the soldering iron, I recommend to you, to use flux, there should be no problem of cold soldering with it.
Hello! thanks for your comment. Wish you all the best!

What type of steel /metal-- has he extracted from that spark plug ?---is it copper or high carbon steel --he is using as a replacement soldering tip on the iron ?
Platinum, Nickel and Iridium alloys.
the heating element will not last ,not anof surface for the eat to transfer to the tip,,,,

Hello! thanks for your comment. Wish you all the best!
4:02 lol , why not cut down the pop rivet as it was and use that rather than wasting all that time with the spark plug 🤦🏻♀️ that’s what I have been doing for years , and it so just fine . If you want too be really fussy - you could use stainless steel poprivits 🤷 .
I used this part of spark plug because it has high thermal conductivity.
@@creationholic101 I understand that is true - however I believe the overall result was more likely a coincidence , considering how thin the spark plug tip was , by the time you had Finished the modification - I think a side bye side test would show - That the same result would have come from using the cut dawn poprivit . 🤔
just use a soldering tip, they are cheap. and put solder on it next time. what a stupid waste of time.
Hello! thanks for your comment. Wish you all the best!
take a piece of that ceramic ,throw it at a door car window,,watch what will hapene,,n,b,better do this on a scrap one,🤣
Awesomeness

I’ve learned that you can’t cut spark plugs with scissors, you need an angle grinder.

The spark plug tip conducts heat quite well
I expected how to renew old spark plug...
Thank you for your feedback. I will think about a solution to this problem

Your soldering trick didn't work because of the changes you made to the iron but rather because you acctually tried to solder it correctly after the changes.
Hello! thanks for your comment. Wish you all the best!
Have l missed something here ?
1:14 unless I see the scissors in the same frame = with out the unnecessary offscreen Segway to the plastic bag . I’m calling bullshit on this one The ceramic of the spark plug is not only rounded But also has a tuff glazed surface that is unlikely to be capable of sharpening anything as is . I am going to try this tomorrow . If I’m wrong I’ll be back to apologise . If I’m Wright ….I will be back tomorrow too confirm my suspicions. Crazy Ozzie OUT 👣. I WAS / AM WRONG IT WORKED 🤦🏻♀️ my apologies for my negative comment .🙏
I had done it and it has real sharpening effect. I would love to hear your feedback after you try it out.

Rarely have I seen such incredible nonsense.
It's very good, try it and feel it
Poor soldering technique. People who don't know how to solder bring the solder to iron, let it melt and then bring it to the point where the soldering needs to happen. That burns the flux away. Solder without flux will not give a good permanent soldering connection. Just saying.

The original problem of the soldering iron was the screw was loose to begin with.
Hahaha you realise you wrote that and everyone can see just how daft of a person you are no offence intended to you but you did write it.
Then he nearly burnt the other wire in half next to it.
Actually the problem was the iron was cold. Also didn't tin the iron with solder like he did with the new "Tip".
Problem is people removing your comments because they can’t take getting told they’re a bit dull!!! I wonder how long this one will stay up for before it gets removed 5 or 10 minutes.
The screw does absolutely nothing apart from stop the soldering tip from falling out and has absolutely nothing to do with heat transferring from the iron to the tip! What are we actually going to do if we have a global disaster with the sort of people and knowledge that they have got in their heads!! Humanity as a species is doomed with geniuses like the original poster of this reply left to replenish our species
👉🏼🤤💨🧠
it's really effective you can try it
On the 2nd one it would have been easier and quicker to just TIGHTEN the screw holding the tip in instead of making a makeshift tip from the spark-plug. YES Everyone that watched saw the soldering tip was LOOSE so it wouldn't work.
Hello! thanks for your comment. Wish you all the best!
KGB its better
