"Goof Troop (グーフィーとマックス - 海賊島の大冒険 Gūfii to Makkusu - Kaizoku Shima no Daibouken, lit. "Goofy and Max: The Adventures of Pirate Island") is an action-adventure video game, developed and released by Capcom in 1993 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (known as the Super Famicom in Japan), and based on the television series of the same name. The game can be played in multiplayer mode, wherein one player controls Goofy and the other Max.
This video game would become the first to have actually been designed by Shinji Mikami; who would later be known as the father of the survival horror video game genre. The Nostalgia, me and my friend completed this game every day for about 4 years. Because it was my Snes i got to be Max every time haha. my only complaint is how you guys dug those holes on the castle level. my OCD was all over the place. Great Game!!!

Oh man what a great game I remember playing the game non stop with my cousins back when we were far too young to understand how it worked I don’t think we ever got off that first island but damn the fun we used to have playing it 😂

Why is this masterpiece not in the Disney collection?
The girl that lived above me rented this game. We were so happy how fun and the puzzles made team work more fun. It's one memory I will never forget I shared with her so I get really mad when I hear people bashing video-games. They bring people together and create forever lasting memories.

@@SaitoGaming I was shocked and happy to find out tons of other people experienced this game too. I remembered her renting it and I wasn't thrilled but she said the person at Blockbuster said it's a popular game and it was.
I first played this game back in the 90s and never made it past the first stage.
Played it again only yesterday, but this time with my best friend. We are both in our 30s now and had a hell of a time. We made it to the final stage and now we can't wait to get back together and beat the rest.

That's crazy! Sounds about right, though. It's a lot of fun! Some of the puzzles may take you a while, but that's part of it.
Last level is by far the hardest! The puzzles are harder than the enemies/boss!
This game looks like they had programmers who worked on Link to the Past to make this game.
Not sure about that, but, yeah, they look similar.
I remember playing this as a kid! We always struggled with that fire boss. I think we gave up on the game for a couple of years and came back to it and finally beat the whole thing. Great memories!

I remember renting this game from a place called #1 Video back in the day on Christmas Eve. I believe I beat it in one sitting. Awesome memories.
It gets tricky on the first try, but it's a good thing that there's no time limit.
Love this game, great co op adventure game with teamwork and puzzles to solve. Wish there were more games like this today.
You could try "Biped" or "It Takes Two". They seem pretty good, imo. "Trine" and "Portal 2" are a few worth your while, especially the latter.

I also found one I want to try called 'Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos', looks like a link to the past the zelda snes game but has multiplayer, could be fun with the action & puzzle aspect of zelda games
They need to bring this game back on the switch.
I really don't know why they haven't done that yet.
I really loved this game, it's paced suited me, was never as good as my brothers in the Super Mario games.

Not a big fan of puzzle games, but it was very cool, I've never managed to beat the game tho, I'm trying now again :)

Ahh nostalgia! This was one of my favorites besides top gear 2. My first SNES game was The Legend of Zelda An Link To The Past. Another I did that was probably less known is Super Smash Tv. In the mountains there’s a few secrets there like shortcuts secret rooms etc. Also Mickey had some games for the SNES.

1h 25m, actually (1:33:31). And we were messing around most of the time, anyway. 🤣 I'm pretty sure the game can be beat in less than 1 hour, though.
When you think about it this is basically Zelda
A (way) shorter 2P Zelda game.
This helped me get through the more difficult puzzle sequences. The game is difficult but at the same time just the right amount of ease to keep you wanting to play. So many times I'm like "ok, I can figure this stupid puzzle out, just think!"
Indeed. The first time I played it, I even drew puzzle sketches on paper at one point. This time, we paused the game to figure some out, but those parts were cut out of the video. 🤣 I believe it was just on the last one, though.

The character names were not great at all. Fire Bug reminds more of TMNT's bad guys.

Hace 25 años jugaba este juego con mi hermano mayor y nunca lo terminamos juntos, el juego se perdió y mi SNES se descompuso, pasados cuatro años, hace 24 años mi mamá me regaló este juego el día de reyes y por fin pude jugarlo otra vez y por fin terminarlo, solo que ya jugaba solo. Mis padres se separaron y mi hermano se fue con mi papa. Ahora cuando lo veo, recuerdo muchas horas de diversión al compás de sus bellas melodías.
Lástima lo de tus padres, pero que bueno que rescates los buenos recuerdos. Yo también lo jugué y terminé con mi hermano menor, de pequeños. Lo anecdótico es que a él se le acabaron las vidas en el jefe final y "juré vengarlo" con mis 2 vidas restantes y así lo hice. Muy bonitos recuerdos.

Such a nostalgic feeling. The music, the colors, the sounds... I have vivid images of all of that in my mind like I just played it for the first time.
I'm 35 and my childhood best friend, who introduced me to SNES and this game, passed away 3 days ago.
This may have not been our favorite game ever, but we spent a lot of afternoons after school being a team in Goof Troop, one of the most enjoyable coop experience we had during the SNES era.
