  • Don't have an extra spare donut tire laying around? Don't wanna buy another from the junkyard, then here is the way to always have any rim to match your car.

    May want to break the beads on the tires before torching or welding. The heat and compressed air dont mix they can make a big BOOM and severely hurt someone

      highly unlikely.

      You make a good point, i have seen videos on this with fullsize tires, but I'm not sure how much welding would be needed to get enough heat long enough. I will test this sometime with a psi gauge on a donut tire while welding sometime.

    Back in the 90's on my dad's first derby car, He took 16" truck and tractor rims I believe, and cut those wheel centers out, and put the 5 lug chrysler wheel centers in. I believe that was back in 95, or 96? Now you can go and get aftermarket wheel centers with multiple bolt patterns which i like. Found out old Chrysler and new chrysler bolt patterns are the same. Lol He did this on a fullsize 1977 Chrysler Town and Country station wagon by the way.

      I recently found out Chevy lumina and Ford crown vic match bolt patterns too.

    does it make the rim weak versus using a non welded rim

    • @DemolitionMissions
      @DemolitionMissions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not any weaker, unless you are bad at welding, then it might break.

    How do u plug your back brake lines?

    • @DemolitionMissions
      @DemolitionMissions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on where the lines all run and what material they are made from. The easiest way is to cut them near under the drivers floor and smash them flat with a hammer, fold it over ontop of itself and smash flat again...this will pinch off the metal line. But i have sometimes come across copper brake lines and these tend to leak easier or crack when smashed. So I had to unscrew the fitting at the brake master and screw in a plug fitting with the same threads.

    Don’t weld rims with a tire on it! They can explode
