This one is up there, but I think Everything Dies may be my favorite overall. I'm glad you enjoyed this one and think you're going to find quite a few more tracks that you're going to love. From the "two girls" album, "Christian Woman" is probably a better track for you than "Black No. 1".
Anesthesia, it's just a masterpiece
Anesthesia is the best song ever by anyone. But All Hallows Eve is also amazing...really all things Type O negative lol. Just depends on the mood. Please do originals over covers, I would stay on October Rust for now.

Hard to beat a story about turning into a werewolf from performing cunnilingus on a woman who is menstruating lol. Of course it's not literal, the guy just loved to go down, beautiful song. I miss you Pete.

Anesthesia really is an incredible song, it's definitely in my top TON tracks. It's hard to choose a favorite from this band so many amazing tracks.
Definitely one of their best tunes. I love October Rust. It's one of my favorite albums of all time. Just makes me soooo sad that Peter is gone. He was such a musical gift to us. It's hard to understand how he was so epic yet so tongue-in-cheek at the same time. The loss of Peter and Dave Brockie have affected the "underground" heavy metal scene in such a tremendous way.

But “Creepy Green Light” and “All Hallows Eve” are def recommended. Lyrically amazingly dark, so much goth in a good way. And mix it with Peter’s voice… Its just gives me shivers every time. Both perfect for halloween season of course. And sooo romantic in a weird way 🫣
I’m a huge fan, there is so much more to discover about them. There was a “Carnivore” band before, has some gems in it. Most of Peter’s lines were basically top irony and sarcasm. He had such a great sense of humour.
I hope you’ll continue this journey. Love your perspective

Great song and the 2 rants were hilarious. I'm with everyone here Nettie should be your next song. October's rust and up is more modern type type o the ones before sound a whole lot different. I'd say mix it up but that's just my opinion. I hope you react to life is killing me at some point its my favorite type o song. So happy you enjoy this band.

"Girlfriend's Girlfriend", "Cinnamon Girl", "Be My Druidess", & "Black Sabbath" and "Black Sabbath (Satanic Perspective)" are all great song by this band. :D
Any song from this band is absolutely incredible, you can pick any album and get a totally different experience. That’s part of what makes them so great, you can really tell where Peter was in his life with each album. PLEASE check out Green Man and Haunted off of this same album. Both beautiful pieces of art. Haunted is what made me realize this wasn’t some ordinary band. Great reactions, take care!

I knew type o negative from a long time ago, but i was never i into it
But when i listened to this song back in 2019Since then it has been in my playlist till this day and its not going anywhere, i was hooked for some reason. And then i realised the perfection..
The tone of the guitar is soooooo heavy.
With the bass that is watery atmospheric calm .The keyboard doing a very very good work using those synths, keys and all, plus the timings of breakdowns and all.,
The drums just kicking with a heavy heavy intent
Plus the vocals 🤯,there is lot to say about this song

Anesthesia is a great song. My favorite song on that album, but World Coming Down is my favorite song. That and Can't Lose You.
I would suggest Nettie or The Dream is Dead for your next listen.

Oh please don't stick to one record!
Don't get me wrong, October Rust is probably my favorite Type O record but, but , BUT!
You will miss out on too many other great aspects of their sound, that's not (or less) present on that record.
You will miss out on the ferociousness and raw emotional display of they debut (Start with Unsuccessfully Coping With The Natural Beauty Of Infidelity (wonderful title!))
Or you will miss out on the gothic anthems, that launched them into mainstream of Bloody Kisses (As you already did Black Number One, you should continue with Christian Woman, although the title track is also really good).
You would also miss out on the utter heart wrenching super deep depressive songs of World Coming Down (Start with Everything Dies or Everyone I Love Is Dead (They are seriously underrated))
There is also some very cool and a little more straight forward songs on Life Is Killing Me (As you already did Anesthesia (which we damn well know by now ;-) ) you should continue with I Don't Wanna Be Me - such an upbeat and fun track despite its bleak topic).
And you would also miss out on Dead Again that saw the band find the way back to more of their hardcore punk roots as well as lyricism much influences by Peter Steel turning to Christianity just a few years before his death (I think the title track of this one is quite a lot of fun, but September Sun is very beautiful and These Three Things shows his new found faith very explicitly while still being very Type O Negative).
Have fun - you're still in for quite a lot of great songs yet.
World Coming Down is hands down their best album. Could be I think that because that is their most Doom driven album, has the biggest The Beatles influence (besides Less Than Zero) or the fact that I’ve spent the majority of my life being addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, but yeah, TON, (besides Woods Of Ypres) has ironically been the one band that made me realize there’s something better and brighter out there
This is a great song from an amazing album, but I'm sticking with In Praise of Baccus or Green Man being better. I hope you get to those.
The next level would be My Dying Bride, my favorite band. On the early stuff keyboardist Martin also plays the violin, ridiculous.

type o negative is famous in making songs that eventually become melodic at the end of the song then making the build up to be hung
you should just do a full album reaction to this album for your 5k milestone.
I wouldn't recommend sticking only to October Rust. Only a few songs on October Rust stand up by themselves. It was only when I continued to listen to the entire album in one sitting that I began to appreciate those songs. To be clear, the songs I am talking about are still good but they are best appreciated when listened to as part of the album experience.
World coming down is my recommendation.
Just watched again. If you do stick with this album, when you get to My Girlfriend's Girlfriend, I think you should react to the video. It's fun song, and a fun, colorful video. I think I've mentioned this before, so this is just another plug. : )
Certainly appreciate your honest reaction, but this is a benchmark for music that I consider Art. Perfection indeed, this band creates their own niche in modern music and likely blends many elements into a near effortless synthesis of emotion and timelessness
You should think about falling in love with each album before you start skipping around the songs. Each album has a unique feel.

Hard to guess a favourite Type O song but I agree Anaesthesia is something special. They did a brilliant cover of Black Sabbath's Paranoid - Type O were known for amazing covers. Seen them more times than I could count back in the day. Usually with Life Of Agony. Always a good show, near the end not so much. We watched the decline of Pete over the years and that was a sad thing to watch.
