I’ve got this model - but any tips for getting the wings to move as intended? Mine seem to mostly hang uselessly twitching a bit. Or they will move forwards once and then just sit in a forward position. (the point where the wings connect with the motor mechanism barely seem to connect and they constantly “jump out”). The back cover plate seems to do nothing to keep them in the tracks either.
Hard to say what's wrong without seeing it, but my guess is you didn't lock the pieces all the way in place - they should really snap together with a click.
Another great video bud!,there's some quality paintwork on this kit for a mass produced and relatively low priced kit,it must be fairly time consuming, I'd love to see how they do it in a production line environment. I really like this kit and that wing dragging thing is reminiscent of the creature in the game. I'll hopefully get around to assembling the one I bought soon, what we could all do with more time! 👍
Yeah, I've always wondered how the paint application works at the factory. Someone pretty much would have to manually mask all of that stuff, I don't see how else it can be done.
It looks so good. I've never gotten the original Sonic Bird so this one is going to be my definitive version of the Zoid for sure. Especially happy it will get to double as a Monster Hunter collectible as well. I think the reason they come with all the extra CP units is because they're trying to tap into the spirit of Monster Hunter where people fight giant creatures with unreasonably oversized weapons. I guess they thought making a Zoid embody the respective monster isn't enough and we need to slap guns on it too. I think it's great but I only wish the weapons could've had their own painted details so they didn't just look like toy guns.
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the ZW CP sets either, they just don't look all that great, but hey, extra parts is always good. I think they might have just included these because they mold them on the same sprue as the ones that you need to build the Laeus, though.
@@spacehamsterZH Well I don't mean to say that I dislike the ZW CPs, I just think they could use more care to look better. I'm not the type to detail them myself is all

Noice! Mine is in transit, should be arriving soon. Looking forward to it! The bland blue is boring. I have the pseudo-KO of Sonic Bird, which is red, and smoothed out, much sleeker than the original. A little detail painting and a couple white Zenevas emblems and it looks pretty sharp. I haven't worked out a good way to bash a 1/72 cockpit in yet, so it's "fake it til I make it". But I digress! For the Laeus, it can be a Monster! 👹
Well, the head should be big enough for a 1/72 cockpit, now that you mention it, it's more a question of how you're going to saw one out of there and have it actually look good I'd think. Were those ZW KOs any good then? I decided to skip all of those, but they did look surprisingly decent.
You can do the same thing as with the Laeus because the wing parts are the same, but it'll look pretty weird. The Sniptera actually had a separate mode where it walked on all fours, but the Sonic Bird is really designed to just walk on its legs or flap its wings.
Thats a good looking version, imo better.
Im glad theyre still releasing new zoids models,
Them having a lot of collabs is a healthy sign

Yay can't wait to watch this later. I LOVE how this one looks

@@spacehamsterZH They're the gold standard for sure
@@spacehamsterZH ZW weapons are big, chunky, kids' blocks. I got one set when I got my Buster Xeno, and well... there they sit.

just wondering cant the original sonic bird put down its wings to do a walking crawling position?
