Wunderschöne Interpretation dieses kompakten und fein komponierten Klavierwerks im lebhaften Tempo mit klar artikuliertem doch elegantem Anschlag und mit angenehmer Dynamik. Einfach wundervoll!
Yes, I am aware of the discrepancies, but I did not regard them as sufficiently important to go hunting for the edition that the artist uses in this performance. I am not even sure that Ekier is using the Chopin edition that he himself edited.
@@davidhertzberg Upon checking with my Chopin National Edition (Ekier), I would say that your copy is very similar but without fingerings and ossia. The strange part is that the performance is rather different. But that's not a complaint!
It's my understanding that some pianists choose to improvise those repetitions of the downward leaping motif. I've heard a version where the pianist went wild with them, this performance is a bit more conservative in that regard!
Those E naturals though...
Way back then: When my neighbors heard me play this Mazurka ...
they could tell that I was happy 😊 Thanks for this fine rendition !
This is the best interpretation of this Mazurka. Its freaking beautiful ❤

Grace notes (such as acciacatura) brighten the Polish atmosphere.
Which edition are you using for the video display? It is curiously at odds with the performance. 🤔
Thank you for the chance to hear this master play.
