    Hi! My name is Rachel. I am the creator of Sleepy Santosha. I am a certified yoga instructor who specializes in yoga for chronic illness. Although I hold two teaching certifications, the classes I teach are largely inspired by my own firsthand experiences with chronic illness and my personal yoga practice.
    Because I know what it is like to live with chronic illness, I am able to create yoga classes that intuitively support the needs of someone who is experiencing chronic pain, fatigue, brain fog, etc. and many of my classes can be practiced in bed.     Thank you for this restorative yoga class this morning Rachel. It was just what I needed to unwind in this season of doing! Over time during the long holds I could feel myself letting go.     This looks like a terrific program for fatigue. However, it's not appropriate for CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) patients. Bending, squatting, deep stretching, and even sitting/standing upright can induce tremors in CFS patients; and sustaining any physical activity for 45M is out of the question. Sorry to sound like a crank (NOT my intention!) I'm posting this to raise awareness about the use of the term "chronic fatigue." It describes a devastating neurological disease and should not be confused with being tired. This distinction is super important to the legions of CFS victims struggling to be "seen" and helped. Thank you!

      Laura Stanley although I agree that this is not the right fit for someone with severe CFS, I would argue that they would not be searching youtube for a 45 minute yoga practice. My diagnosis is CFS and this is exactly the intensity of workout that is appropriate for my body. Not everyone with CFS can be painted with the same broad brush. There are many faces of CFS. Listen to your body, don’t push very far outside of your comfort zone and be kind to yourself about your abilities. On top of that, listen to your own team of doctors about what is the right fit for your next step on your personal journey. We are each individuals.
      On a somewhat unrelated note, not directed to your comments at all, I cried during the guided mediation. Bringing greater awareness to the sensation of my fatigue, the thing that has stolen so much of my life, was very painful. I appreciate the release of some of that pain. ❤️

      I agree with you, i have severe cfs but I find this very helpful.

    I love doing this restorative yoga practice. I feel so relaxed and energized when I'm done. True bliss. Near the end I feel like I can actually feel the blood from my heart pump through my entire body. Such a wonderful feeling! Thanks so much. 🙏🏻
