I have a 351P and I love it. I'm skeptical that the new powkiddy is better, BUT it's much less expensive, even today. So it may still be the right choice for the majority of people looking at those two devices.
This is what I hoping to see technology become more cheaper, reliable and better, not expensive, easy to break and cut so many feature from previous tech.
I have an RG35XX-H, and later I bought an RG351P dirt cheap (for $40) solely for GBA games. I installed ArkOS on it, and to this day, it's a fantastic device for that purpose. I only use it for Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Golden Sun... It's my dedicated JRPG machine! The thing I love most about it is the battery life. It lasts for 8-9 hours with GBA games, while the 'H' model lasts for 6-7 hours, which is also great. However, the 'P' model doesn’t lose battery life if I leave it unused for a week, while the 'H' loses about 10%. This is still good, but it’s a drawback of the stronger H700 chip.
Glad you enjoyed it. It was between the 351p and the 350m for my first purchase. I got hooked when I started building my own frontend similar to Adam image.
I have a RG351P in that exact color. It goes everywhere with me and I got it very cheap here in Brazil at the time. Sometimes I think about getting a XX device just for the wifi + HDMI + bluetooth combo that could change how I enjoy the device.
Thanks Adin, this is exactly the topic which I was searching for and I´m not the only one. The best comparison in terms of 4:3 display would be the RG351MP, but metal against plastic doesn´t fit well. So the choice to use the RG351P is a very good compromise. Great video 😍
not gonna lie I love my RG351P and I got the 351v and the 353p also, I love this video because as of the past couple weeks I have been contemplating which is my favorite, and I gotta say the simplicity of the 351p is just so respectable and anything SNES or GBA looks pretty stunning in my opinion
Not directly to to you, Adin, but I find it a bit funny that some reviewers do a rattle test and make it such a big deal and then say that loud buttons presses isn't an issue to them. I mean, I rarely shake my device when playing, but I do occasionally press some buttons 😅 I am talking about rg35sp and Retroid Mini reviewed by other famous youtuber that I like as well. Something I really don't like about cheap handhelds is inability of fast charging. It's not actually that much about time spent charging, but more about forgetting to use usb a to usb c one day, especially since those adapters are becoming obsolete
Yep. I try to be as down to earth as I can with these things. The buttons on this were not very clackety apart from the shoulder buttons. But what I do is filter out info that may not be relevant to the audience of the device. And ya, charging will continue to be an issue on cheaper devices.
That chipset is "flipping old", huh? ...but is it "Fargin Icehole" old? That is the true question. Why that made me think of that quote is beyond me :p Thanks for another great video, Adin!
The translucent black is nice but that green LED shines too much through the plastic and there is no option to turn it off. It's a much smaller light on my gray one. Also the START + SELECT to quit a game is working on my RGB10X not sure why you couldn't do it.
You and I are the exact opposite when it comes to Rocknix vs arkOS. I love arkOS and then Rocknix bugs me to no end. I get that it's easier for people that don't want to tinker, but for me, it fights me when I try to set up my different cores the way I want it to be.
I bought a 351M back in the day, and I hated it. The screen was nice, but is was just so heavy and cumbersome. Last year, I bought an 351P in white, because it was dirt cheap. So much better. The weight makes a difference, and I love having the analog volume control on the side. With JelOS or UnnoficialOS, it boots really fast, but it has less features than AmberELEC.
Ah I forgot UnofficalOS is available for it. But wait, isn't Rocknix also available for it. Now I'm feeling nostalgic for the 351p with AmberElec. Maybe I will take it on my upcoming trip and play Goodboy Galaxy on it.

Yup

Yes definitely a good thing!
Congrats on 20k, you deserve it
Hey Michael. Thank you. Honestly I'm suffering from a serious feeling of relief. Now to regroup and focus on 40k
You are pivoting again? To Warhammer?
Lol. No! Just straight up gaming
Good to see the old 351P mentioned..lol. Good video.
Hehe yup. A classic... An overpriced classic haha

wow, that IS impressive
Really enjoyed this Adin. A little different approach 👍 Also, 351P was my first device. The start of a new passion.

The 351p is special. The XX devices just don't have the same charm. Maybe the RG40XX V?
For an extremely budget device it's great. This is definitely one of those devices you can use as a gift to friends and family.
Yes! Great Christmas gift.
Oh man Adin videos are so good... The intro has a nice vibe too
Congrats on 20 thousand subs! You deserve much more
Thanks so much.
Congratulations Adin!! Well deserved
Hey man thanks. Now you need to catch up! Let's soooooo thiiiiiiiis!!! 😂

Yes. I actually wondered if this is just another clone of the rg351mp

Hey man. Yes the RG351P holds its own. For new buyers the RG35XX H and the new Powkiddy are cheaper.
Dat front LED indicator lighting directly to your eyes. Seriously???
Very detailed video! Congratulations on 20k!!☺
Thank you. And thank you for your support.

Tempted to get one to be honest. Oh I love the pocket test Adin! Has anyone done a pocket test but without the handheld?
typo on the title "better that" should be "better than"
thanks for the video!
Oh gosh thank you. I had more time for this vid than usual so I don't know why I missed that.
That chipset is "flipping old", huh? ...but is it "Fargin Icehole" old? That is the true question. Why that made me think of that quote is beyond me :p Thanks for another great video, Adin!
Good question!we shall ponder this through the ages.

Hmmm. Ya no start+select quit here
@adinwalls I'm not sure if it matters but I updated to the latest version of Arkos and you might also want to check your Hotkey settings in Retroarch.
You and I are the exact opposite when it comes to Rocknix vs arkOS. I love arkOS and then Rocknix bugs me to no end. I get that it's easier for people that don't want to tinker, but for me, it fights me when I try to set up my different cores the way I want it to be.
Fair enough!

Price makes this worth it but it's the same with RG351P
My rgb10x has a game reset with select and start (tap tap). I think you can just turn that setting on in ArkOs settings.
Thank you.
could be much better without stick but with large front-facing stereo speakers, super-thin bezels and built-in wi-fi
Yo Adin, do ZA customs charge you for every handheld you get?
Not from LITNXT
CROTCH TIME CROTCH TIME CROTCH TIME
RG35XXH from Wish 😂
Ag Ag
Silver silver?
