Vocaloid is always there, it just fades to the background but when you find a new song or nostalgia hits you, you end up listening to the entire internet's worth of Vocaloid songs. Then after a few months it fades to the background once again. Rinse and repeat.

Except for her case it ain't happening. Why? Well I'm used to be a former hardcore Vocaloid fan and a 1 and a half years old Touhou fan (the same occuring to her except she's 3 years old Touhou fan). And in case you wonder how good is Touhou music (only the music, not the entire games), to simplify thing, it's soundtracks relevant of Vocaloid music.

I started by being addicted to MitchieM and older Vocaloid songs, grew out of it for about 3 years, and then rediscovered it recently! I love artists with lore behind certain songs, and while I no longer consider GHOST a Vocaloid producer because they quit/took a break recently, I still enjoy the stories and subject matter! Other honorable mentions are PinocchioP, Kikuo, Circus-P, Neru, and hachi!

    Imagine completely quitting Vocaloid
I had a few short fall outs where I’d start listening to something else, Fall Out Boy, Set it Off, and recently Mafumafu to list a few examples. But at some point or another I always get roped back into Vocaloid. After Sand Planet I feel like I just become even more invested in Vocaloid then before and started appreciating some earlier classics I didn’t fully enjoy when I first got into it (but I still listen to new songs too!). Personally it’s really hard to me to totally drop something and to this day I’ve still got Vocaloid music in all of my playlists. Some songs get removed from my playlist I will admit but then I just add newer songs.

Hey guys, people say stuff like "aw I got into Vocaloid after the hype was already over", but does that really matter? It's not about following trends right? It's about discovering something you like! Apart from Vocaloid, I also like music from the 70s/80s and I don't care that it's 'old' and 'outdated' music because it's still really good! Besides, people might say that the "golden days of Vocaloid" are over, but it's up to us right now to keep Vocaloid going! Fans are the only things Vocaloid needs because literally anyone can make it's music and draw it's pictures.
Another thing: I don't think you don't have to be constantly hyped and excited about something to be a fan. Yeah, sometimes I don't listen to Vocaloid songs that much, but that doesn't mean I feel like I don't count as a fan anymore. It's okay to have multiple interests in music. I say this because sometimes I feel like there is some sort of a pressure on people to keep the label of 'fan': they HAVE to know the latest producers, the newest Vocaloids and all the trending music because if they don't they are 'fake fans' or old fans who no longer care about Vocaloid. This is not true! You can have an 'on and off'-relationship with Vocaloid and still count as a real fan.

I pretty much only follow the artists of Vocaloids rather than the Vocaloids themselves nowadays and referring back to the song "Sand Planet" pretty much gives the message that most people see the Vocaloids first rather than the artists themselves who are the real OG's making the music, which is ultimately sad but true. The artist I'm currently bopping to right now is PinocchioP as he makes some really good songs that hit me. It's kind of sad to think that 10 years ago, Miku had a huge influence in my life (Albeit really cringe) but as time passes we just move on to pursue other interests.

The little human thing for representing the Vocaloid producer Kikuo is accurate as frick.
I don't know whether this person had a messed up childhood and decided to make it into a song to bring awareness or use it as a coping mechanism or if they are a sucker for cynical and dark topics that not even Neru covered in his songs.
I love Pinocchio-P's music and Wowoka was a classic (god bless his soul)
But Kikuo man. Their songs really get me thinking.
I do know Neru had a reason for those darker songs related to school.
Mostly because Japan schools are strict af and Neru was still in school when Tokyo Teddy Bear, Lost One's Weeping was made.

I’ve been a vocaloid fan since 5th grade and honestly I don’t think I’ve ever fell out of it completely lol.
As a kid I’ve seen miku around a couple times and I liked her design, just didn’t know what she was from. I actually did listen to some vocaloid songs before knowing what it was, but the first time I actually found out about it was by watching the iconic world is mine live concert video. It got me interested in miku, but it was kind of a temporary obsession until I ran into vocaloid again. What really got me hooked and wanting to learn more about it was gigap’s remix of electric angel with rin and len and it’s super adorable pv. After watching that I was fascinated, the video was so cute and I wanted to know more. Ever since that I’ve just been discovering more and more songs, watching cool music videos with great art, reading comments on the meanings of the songs. There was something so nice about seeing people’s different takes on a song.
Rin and len became my favorites until now. My favorites now are Kaito and Meiko, but I still love rin and len. It’s hard to pick a favorite song since it keeps changing, but I’ll say I’m glad you’re evil too is my favorite right now. Some producers I’ve been really enjoying are niru kajitsu and Mitchie m
What made vocaloid really special to me was the community that it thrives on. I’m a senior in highschool now and I still love vocaloid, it’s brought me a lot of comfort growing up. It still is a source of comfort for me today! I know that someday I’ll probably move on from it but for now I’m going to enjoy it as much as I can.

I'm 16 right now and I literally dedicate 2 hours a day (from midnight to 2 am, just like your memory cinema) listening to UTAU, vocaloid and Cevio. I don't know how, but these less or more human sounding voicebanks changed my whole personality since I discovered it when I was 11. I managed to quit p*rn, online toxicity, started working out and learning japanese (and gave me an irrepressible desire to move to japan), they even changed my system of values.

I completely lost interest in Vocaloid a few years ago because no matter the genre I was annoyed of the whole robotic voice thing and the same songs over and over, so I moved on trying to listen to other types of music that were quite the opposite of it? (ahem, k-pop infected me for a while and I don't know how I should feel about that, not only that but general pop songs!) after just one year I got so bored and annoyed again that the music wasn't making me vibe and get hyped at all so I started listening to the old era of Vocaloid little by little AND here I am completely attached to it again, listening not only to the good old 2010s highlights but also keeping up to other recent bops and producers like MASA and Hachioji-P! oh and sure, I'm ABSOLUTELY conscious that the fandom is pretty much dead since 2019 started sooo, hi how are you

I’m back at my Vocaloid phase because of the upcoming new mobile Rhythm game Project Sekai, that feature both original singers, and of course the Cryptonloids. All the songs are from vocaloids and the vocal can be interchangeable between Human/Human+Vocaloids, or just the Vocaloids(basically just the original song). I’m pretty hype because it features both famous old songs, and new songs by popular producers(GigaP, Deco 27, PinnochioP, MitchieM, etc. I believe MafuMafu also contribute iirc). i can’t really follow a fandom religiously. stuffs like Vocaloids or any kinds of entertainment will just come and go, but there’s always a way to spark my interest again. and i’m probably the minority here, but i really really love Vocaloid voices, idk why. but maybe because they are the reason why i love music now(well, i only like Japanese, Chinese, and game musics, but musics are music).

You know what's funny? Ghost Rule was exactly the song that brougt me back!! I'll tell my history, because I thought it's a funny idea
I always played all types of games and watched all types of animes, since I learned how to hold a PS2 controller and to look at the TV, I guess lolololol. When I was 9, I told my oldest brother that I liked the games that he and my older brother dowloaded on our pc (they're 2 and 3 years older than me), but I wanted something more mine, one game that it wasn't downloaded for them and I played too, but a game downloaded especially for me, and then he told me that he would do it for me. Then, I think at the other day or a little more, he told me that he downloaded a game called Project Diva, with that cute anime girl singing and dancing, and he told that it was a rythim game with a thing called Vocaloid, like a digital singer, and he thought I would like that. I loved the game since I looked at it, thanked my brothers all day long and I passed the rest of the afternoon trying to learn the controllers lololol
The first song I ever heard of was World Is Mine (the first song of the first game) and I lived every trace of it!! After finishing it, they downloaded to me Project Diva 2nd, with other Vocaloids and clothes, new controllers system and a bunch of new songs!! Then I heard and learned about the 6 Cryptonloids (and some Fanloids that are in the game too lolol Haku, Neru and Sakine Meiko), loving everyone there
After this, we started looking for more songs, and then we got punched in the face with discivering the existence of others Vocaloids (Gakupo and Gumi (which I thought Gakupo's voice didn't have emotion and Gumi was a Rin 2 (????) lololol)), Mothy songs about The Seven Deadly Sins and the Bad ∞ End ∞ Night series (which we were so early that had only 3 songs lololol), with other stuff like Triple Baka (just c l a s s i c s (and then we learned about Utau as well)), Alice Human Sacrifice and Dark Wood Circus (we were so afraid of Alice lolololol we loved to read creepy pastas at that time, but I also didn't sleep back then lololol)
After these, I continued playing the games and listening the songs, I think until I was 11 or 12 (I really think it was until 11)
I stopped listening to it because I didn't have the games anymore (our pc crashed back then, and I wasn't really remembering of it)
Then, some years later, I found a song called the The Portrait Of The Pirate F, from Yamashizuku (the same ones who did the Bad ∞ End ∞ Night series), but I didn't want to hear the "non-official songs", the ones that wasn't at the games and were "fanmade" (only the "fanmades" I already listened years ago). What a innocent child lololol
    I'll continue at the comments

(This happened when I was almost 13, I guess) I really loved this song and then I thought "well.... I can hear to it, but I don't want to fullfill my head with fan-things, so I don't know..."
After hearing that song and Aka To Shito To Kuro No Keifu (same producers), I showed then to my brothers, which they liked (my oldest brother loves Vocaloid until now, my older brother says he liked, but just can't listen to it nowadays, it's just too robotic) and started searching about the "official" songs and what were them, but then I found out what Vocaloid REALLY was and that this fan-thing doesn't exist, then leading my mind to listen to whatever I wanted to
Some days later, I heard Barisol's Child Is An Only Child (from Mothy), Mirror's Magic and Magic Mirror (from Yamashizuku) and then I was dragged again at the Vocaloid's hole, suddenly with a feeling of missing and nostalgia!! I remembered that so pure feeling of wanting to listen to good histories, watch PVs, try to connect the puzzles of the songs, just listen to them without thinking much and remember how much they did my childhood
After these 5 songs, especifically, I found about a new ("""new""") Project Diva game (which my pc don't even dream with it KKKKK), that was the Future Tone, and then I found Ghost Rule (a compilation of GR with Vocaloids, Fanloids and Teto, all of once) and then this was the first song I downloaded at my now-with-space (and used lololol) new cellphone!!!
After this, I downloaded a BUNCH of them (which I have and listen until now), remembered about how I didn't really liked the way Gakupo's voice were used (it wasn't a bad voice, but no-emotional one), and then searched more about him (now he's my absolute favorite one!!) and Gumi as well, founding out bunch more songs
As I was hearing my favorite ones, I was founding more and more Vocaloids and songs and learning about every Vocaloid ever (I now know all of them), a lot of Utaites which I'm a huge fan of them, and the main reason why I started learning japanese at my own
Vocaloid appeared again at my life at (one year before) my worst moment ever, so I can never say "good bye" to them again!! I'm actually 16, and they're part of me now, they've helped me to pass through lot, and it isn't much to say that I love Vocaloid, with all my heart
I will forever love Vocaloid 😄💘💖💖💖

@@barbaramarianadeassuncaofr9210 Amazes me nobody just starts looking up "real" voice covers for the songs. Jubyphonic, lizzy, Lollia etc. Instead of just dropping vocaloid all together and stuff.

@@jesseroberts1041 I think it's becausr the fun part of Vocaloid are the vocaloids itselfs. Of course, utaites are amazing, but the "real" singers will be forever the vocaloids

Oh hey look, it's my young teenage life summed up. But with the crucial difference that it came back to haunt me in my early 20s and stuck. I follow artists more than I follow 'loids now, though. Neru's old angsty work was what I needed when I was younger, and I love how sarcastic his more recent work is.

Oooh nice! Not sure if it rings a bell but I'm that person that made the old sonic drawings video (if you subbed because of that. If not then nevermind haha)
