- some origins of the samples from some popular vocaloid songs. mostly maretu lol. also on an uploading kick hope you love it.
LIST OF THINGS IM STILL LOOKING FOR AND WOULD LOVE HELP ON!!!
Sand Planet - Hachi (the voice/speaking played at the beginning/throughout)
Suji - Maretu (“What the hell” I heard some people saying it may also be nostalgia critic, but i’ve also heard the hunger games.)
I’m high - Maretu (“Stop” and “I’m high” they sound like they could be from the same thing?)
Magical Doctor - Maretu (“welcome to the hardtek” specifically, but the song has a lot of samples)
anything else from Sasuke Haraguchi
can’t think of anything else rn but ILL UPDATE THIS - บันเทิง
thank you all for the contributions and suggestions, i’m collecting a bunch for a part two :) keep them coming!
Add this in part 2:
Most of Project Voltage songs was referenced/sampled by some from the Pokemon OST. Fo example, "The Pokemon Inside by Heart" was sampled to Pokemon Center Theme, is because Hatsune Miku was collaborated by The Pokemon Company.
hi! not sure if it's a sample, but in Shun ran by John, there's some voice speaking/playing in the beggining and throughout of the song. In some animatics the lyrics are shown as "Stand by me- but i bet i´ll never be back" or in japanese forums, it´s "Stand by me. But never i'll go back", yet i can´t find anything about it, nor the original person or source who said those were the lyrics, sorry i can´t provide more info but i guessed it would be interesting to search for :D
OMG I WAS WONDERING WHAT FIXERS SPACE SHUTTLE PART CAME FROM
ME TOO
these producers sample anything i'm cryin😭😭
It truly is hilarious
They be taking recourses
YEP. Abu-se-ken sampled Martin Luther King’s speech once 🤣
Edit: if someone is interested that song is called “Let’s clean up”
VAQEII???????
Actually, all producers sample anything 🤓☝️
I need a whole video just about Maretu samples 🥰
i would love to! hopefully one day
@@v4mpirism yay!!!
@@v4mpirism commenting so i get reminded if u do post it :0
In the new Maretu song Delicacy sounds close to sampling Jerma singing aeiou. XD
Edit: It's Figaro's aria, I didn't know about that and considering Maretu sampled Nostalgia critic of all possible options my brain just tried to connect to the closest thing I knew.
it’s actually believed to maybe be figaro, but still up in the air! thanks for the contribution
omg
Meat grinder moment lmao
I feel like it sounds to clean for that to be the case
definitely not jerma, it's from figaro's aria from the barber of seville (opera by rossini). it even follows the same vowel pattern i -> a -> o at the start
Another sample i found in hitomania is about the person who screams F*CK at around 0:33, the sample is from an old vine of a guy screaming F*CK, i found out about this thanks to a friend of mine who pointed it out jgagsdjsg
there’s also that one specific yay sound in the song
@@justkojiro11
It might be from Sound Ideas. Then, some immature phonophobes will be raged about it.
another sample in hitomania is the yell at 1:17, i dont know the exact source but its a soundbyte used in a lot of gachimuchi videos (which, if youre unfamiliar, are a genre of videos that edit/remix clips from gay porn for comedic effect) so...one can assume the kind of video it came from lol
Given how Slipknot also used the “here comes the pain” and “the whole thing, I think is sick” samples in some of their songs before Maretu, something tells me Maretu might be more familiar with some parts of American culture than I initially thought
i JUST said this bro 😭
I think he’s just a slipknot fan
yeah given how he did make a slipknot cover once
Hes a huge slipknot fan if i recall correctly
On his website he credits many artists as inspiration for his songs, Slipknot being one of them
SAW FIXER IN THE THUMBNAIL FIXER SPOTTED (now i finally know what bro says)
SAND PLANET SPOTTED TOO
I WAS SERIOUSLY WONDERING WHAT HE WAS SAYING
for a while i thought he was saying "after a successful acid trip" and it raised my eyebrow every time
THANK YOU for the fixer one omg
But is there a specific place you got that audio
@@GalaxyLuz323 yes! nasas soundcloud lol
on.soundcloud.com/r9YythjbStYQZvFg8
Thank you!
Never realised Housewife Radio/Black and White was sampled from a game!
Also the entirety of Teto Territory is a parody of the Touhou doujin song shown here iirc
i feel like maretu is/was a slipknot fan or at least was interested, cause there’s the “here comes the pain” sample from Carlito’s way that’s in Tool, but also (Sic), and then “the whole thing i think it’s sick” sample from the manson documentary is in slipknot’s self titled intro track 742617000027, but also Maretu’s Taste of the Cockroach.
didn't they also cover a song by slipknot?
@@eftscreenshotter8817 for real? which one? im interested lol
Maretu’s sample work is just lovely
TY FOR THE HOUSEWIFE RADIO ONE I WAS WONDERING ABOUT IT
Hello fello ghost fan
Reckless Battery has so many references, it even has its own video (in the description of the song). I think it's an exception since it's a close reference instead of a mere sample.
yup :3
1:50 If that's the actual sample, it's funny how it's edited to sound like it's Miku saying it, it's so well mixed with her vocals!
Also, at least to me the "MIND BRAND" sample is one of the biggest discoveries of the Vocaloid community! That sound has been in my head for years and always saw it as one of the coolest and most fitting and iconic sounds for a song ever, it's crazy to know it came out of a TH-cam video review xD
I always wondered where that classic samfree “whoo!” Came from
Another song that I know has quite a few samples is Zunda Shaking, which samples Undertale SFX, Windows XP error sounds, Skype sounds, and a GUN.
ah i love zunda shaking, do you happen to know what sfx it uses from the game?
me when undertale (i have severe brainrot)
DUDE YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW SURPRISED AND HAPPY I WAS WHEN I SAW CHEAT CODE TO HAPPINESS AND THEN RIGHT AFTER WAS ZERO ESCAPE 999 I LOVE 999 SO MUCH
I'm not sure where it's sampled from, but Junky Nighttown Orchestra has a bunch of English chatter in the background at 2:24
"Me and the boys, we gon keep on rocking, is that alright?"
"Check it out!"
"No, wait!"
"Step aside."
"Now let's just see what this sounds like played backwards!"
"It's completely unnecessary! But a lot of fun to watch!"
"We've got some fresh new young talent, ladies and gentlemen in-"
I have no idea where these samples come from, and I'd be really interested in finding out where!
OMG yes thank you for reminding me of that, the song came to mind while researching but i couldn’t place why. will definitely look into this one
@@v4mpirism if it helps, I found a clip of just the samples, without the rest of the music
@@v4mpirism drive.google.com/file/d/15C12VmUpzxvfSjfsepauUTWKoz71Ebi4/view?usp=drivesdk
Respectable pfp
and the amen break literary everywere
Wait until you find out about copyright free sound libraries, like really old ones that came on cds. Everything uses those, it's insane. Getting your hands on one of them is like discovering a skeleton key to every sample musician in the 90s and 00s
Utatap sampling 999 is insane what
THE 999 SAMPLE OH MY GOD?
maretu sure loves sampling
I DID NOT EXPECT FOR CLASSICALOID TO BE HERE BUT I AM HAPPY THAT IT DID :DD
folks found the sample before but distorted princess by hachioji-p uses a sample of an english press release about alcoholism of all things. definitely a fun one to share! cyberpunk dead boy and brain fluid explosion girl also both use common japanese "this number is not available" type messages iirc
idk if this is true but apparently one of maretu’s songs has a South Park sample? I forgot which song tho, and apparently it might actually have been from another American tv show (I saw a thread about this on Reddit a while back)
yess!! packet hero “it’s not fucking funny” i tried looking for that one but i wasn’t able to find the exact thing
the rap in protodisco by nulut is sampled from the song out of control by tiesto!
thank you!
FACKING FINALLY i being wondering for years now where in the hell had Ghost got those Radio sounds and voices for Housewife Radio/Black and White that shit was so cryptic and NOW THANK YOU OH MY GOD
Omg now we know where that bit from fixer is somewhat saying! Thanks for the hard work this is rly cool :3
the "it's party time" is indeed from that song, but its also a popular sample found in the ZERO-G Datafiles, which are a collection of sample CDs that have seen a truly incredible amount of usage since the first CDs release in 1991. i'm willing to bet a lot more vocaloid songs have sampled from the CDs!
idk if this would count but in 'CYBERPUNK DEAD BOY' by Maiki-P, at the beginning (and at a second time at about a minute and 40 seconds in) theres a robotic voice type thing where google translate was used !(i dont know how to describe it but)
Tricolore Airline has a sample in the beginning with the announcer saying "thank you for waiting ladies and gentlemen...". I heard it used in a different video so I'm guessing it's from some stock sound library.
Digital Girl also uses some dial-up sounds during a certain part, just like in Hito Mania.
I'm not sure if the Kasane Territory one counts as a sample of Kero 9 Destiny so much as a cover of the "Always Cirno's Turn" version with parody lyrics about Teto in place of the original. That would technically make it a parody of a mashup of a parody/remix of a Touhou song, which boggled my mind when I realized it. Definitely did use the instrumental, though.
Really, really hoping someone out there figures out the Sand Planet one. Seems like it comes from a movie or tv show, possibly from the US. Trying to find one with a group in it somewhere called "fact detectives" would probably be a good lead.
i put that information for teto territory on the on screen text /nm
I always figured it was hachi or someone he hired to record the lines. I have a hard time imagining another piece of media that'd happen to say "back a decade, remember i was born" and thought they were lines he wrote.
@@Jessnyan I'd always heard it as "Fact Detective member, I was one." "Wow.", which does sound like it could be a line from a movie or TV show, maybe some kind of futuristic cop drama or something.
"Back a decade" would certainly make more sense in the context of the song, though. Now I'm really curious as to which one it is, if either.
@@Jessnyan Yeah I think I always heard it as "back to December(?) remember I was born" - surprised someone else heard something similar!
@@glaceRaven i've always heard "respect the member, i always wanted"
theres also the beginning of rondon political officer job by masa, which is sampled from an adaptation of 'and then there were none' by agatha christie. i dont know which one tho. nice video ! i enjoyed discovering those
WE FOUND THE SAMPLE FOR FUCKING HOUSEWIFE RADIO? my lifes been saved
OH THATS WHAT THE HOUSEWIFE RADIO / BLACK AND WHITE RAFIO SOUND IS FROM
THATS cool !1!1!2
In N-buna's "もうじき夏が終るから"(idk the title in English, sry), there is apollo mission's radio sound. But I couldn't find the exact original track.
Distorted Princess by Hachiouj-P has this at the start: "We don't have enough data to call it alchohol abuse. We have no way of knowing if these are the only two incidents that have ever occurred in the history of the astronaut corps or if they're the tip of a very large iceberg." lol
You can google it, there's and NBC article that quotes this but I don't know where to find the original audio.
Maretu needs to be put under a microscope and studied because why Nostalgia Critic of all things lil bro
Can’t wait for part 2! This is honestly so fascinating and a great addition to the vocaloid and producer lore ❤️
I’ve been waiting SO LONG to find out where the sample in fixer came from 😭🙏🙏 thank you kind person
NO WAY ZERO ESCAP
the full welcome to the mind fuck clip is so funny
thats so cool! thanks for all these cool info stuff!
GHOST AND PALS AND MARETU MENTIONED 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 WTF IS A SANE HAPPY SONG 🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🦫🔥🗣🔥🔥
IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THE FIXER FOR SO LONG THANK YOUUU
not gonna lie i want hitomania's samples' origins to have its own video
THANK YOU FOR THIS!! MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED RAHHH
0:38 I'm Scared of Girls mentioned? Now I know that wasn't just my fever dream 12+ years ago? Great AND concerning
gods work where do people even begin to search for these things TOT
thank you! this is so interesting
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR FIXER'S SAMPLE
hard challenge: find the samples used in dune/sand planet 😆 both the one that goes "back to [???] remember [???]" at the beginning and the one that goes "YAAA" multiple times throughout the song
I love vocaloid videos like this, make more!
TY FOR THE FIXER ONE I NEEDED TO KNOW IT SO BAD 🙏🙏🙏🙏
i just found out about the mind brand one a few weeks ago, i never expected that lmao
This is so cool! Thank u for this!
Zero escape mention!?
Excellent video. I didn’t know Cheat Code to Happiness took a sample from the 999 soundtrack. Which shocks me because I adore both a whole lot www
One you missed that I think is interesting is that Proto Disco by nulut samples Out of Control by Tiesto!
TY FOR THE GHOST ONE IVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND IT FOR FOREVER
maretu sampled the nostalgia critic?? holy hell
BRO I'VE BEEN WONDERING WHERE FIXER'S SAMPLE COMES FROM THANK YOU
lol i didnt expect these wide varieties of the samples
Nice video!
here are some sugestions I would like to give you:
get back bed sample on yada hatarakanai by Lamaze P
The rap on secret after school, and also the I love you whisper on the beginning.
There's a voice yelling Fireeeee on
Megu Megu fire endless night.
BRO WE NEED MORE
Iyowa - 1000 nen ikiteru also sampled Modest Mussorgsky- Picture in An Exhibition “Promenade”
Classicaloid fan here!!! The show is basically about a scientist who revived classical composers as a homunculus. It's utterly hilarious and full of madness... Since they're homunculuses they're not exactly themselves, and some of them even became the opposite gender of themselves (Tranz Liszt real) They sampled so much pieces into a new song, although some may sound goofy i actually love most of them 😭 Also fyi Chopin here is a chronically online hikikomori who managed to produce all of these vocaloids despite not be able to afford a home
0:50 I GENUINELY SLAPPED MY KNEE WHEN I SAW THIS. VOCA PRODUCERS SAMPLING 999 IS LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE
maretu truly has the greatest samples
The same wow at 2:21 plays in Toby Fox's Big Shot i think or at least one of Spamton's songs. Makes sense, since it's an earthbound sample
In Ayase's Last Resort at 1:57 there or there abouts, theres another sample that ive always been curious where it came from! Itd be awesome if you could maybe research that one too!
Ah, neat. The one I've been wondering about for years is Nulut's Proto Disco's rap sample, I'd love to hear it clearer.
not sure if it counts, but utata-p's song 'a joyful, fun, happiness carnival' uses a lot samples from a sample pack called 'big bad horns volume 1'. i know this because i downloaded the same sample pack and went ''heyyy wait this sounds familiar..'' lol
there's also a sound in his song ''i'm sorry for liking you'' that i'm sure is from a sample pack, because it's also used in Sixbomb's song ''Getting Pretty After''. but not sure where it's from
Idk if anyone has suggested it yet but there's a laugh clip used in both Jeep!?. by A4 and Kuruoze by Yuu Miyashita (ik that one isn't a vocaloid song but he did do covers so it counts 😭) near the end of both songs that I really want to find because it's a very distinct laugh, I think a few other songs use it too but I can't remember them off the top of my head 🤔
you're a hero, thank you
i love the fact that Reckless Battery Burns does a reference to Yume Nikki at the sample
hito mania in itself could be a whole compilation of sample origins lol
this is really cool wow
If you're going to make another one of these videos, another song I know that has a sample is I was Human by Picon. I can't remember where the sample is from exactly, I believe it's an old movie, but there is a comment under Rachie's English cover of the song that says where it's from.
fun fact: a lot of maretu samples were also used in samples from his favorite bands (namely slipknot)
Omg... the housewife radio/black & white one actually is so cool...might play the game just for that LMAO
One song that had a sample I’ve always been curious about is journal justify ft Miku, Rin, Len there’s a man talking in the beginning if you could find anything about that, that would be cool!
OMG ZERO ESCAPE??? theres supposed to be a cheat code for happiness was always one of my favorite vocaloid songs and the fact that it samples zero escape 😭 oh god this increases my appreciation of the song on a whole other level
The fact that Communications Case 1's ominous noise comes from some random RPG Maker game is crazy, cuz to me it so clearly says "I love you, Nancy" in a voice pretty similar to Dex's.
999 mention
THIS WHOLE TIME I THOUGHT THE PARTY TIME IN AGEAGE WAS MIKU 😭😭
Bro really sampled the Nostalgia Critic LMAO
desperately need you to find the "haters gonna hate" in hitsuji ga ippiki
SOME OF THEM ARE SO FUNNY OMG KDJSKDJSKDJ
1:45 oooooh so it was, like, "the whole thing I think is sick" !
In Picon's song "It was human", there's a sample of two people speaking:
"Do you remember pictures i sent to you?"
"I tried to remember, but when everything is coming back to me it's like my memories are paralyzed"
"I don't think I understand. It's because..."
"Good."
"What exactly are you looking for?"
I have no idea where it's from, but it seems like a TV show or a lesser-known movie? Also, MARETU's "I do not seek - I find" is a quote from Pablo Picasso which I think he may have sampled from an interview?
For classicaloid case, the entire anime is basically a remix of classical musics. Especially when it comes to Chopan, his entire OSTs always used vocaloids. Also, Alien Alien sampled The Twilight Zone
Distorted Princess by 八王子P also uses a sample from a 2007 response from a then NASA chairman Richard Bachman talking about the report of two astronauts drinking, another song by them is Baby I love you with Miku and Len that has a robotic voice in the beginning that sounds the same as the Just Dance 2023 Menu theme however is is most likely the opposite because Baby I love you was released in 2020. And The just Dance theme also sampled from other songs so The Just Dance theme must've took the robotic voice from Baby I love You but I'm not 100% sure
in addition to sampling classical music, innocence by kazuP samples pachelbel’s “canon in d”
also i think eazy dance by mitchie m samples “the glow of love” by change
You gotta put Secrets of Wysteria in the next one! That one’s probably the most well known one lol
i almost did but i didn’t know if it was appropriate lol
THANK YOU FOR FIXER
i got jumpscared in my astronomy class when i heard the sample
I DIDNT EXOECT TO SEE EARTHBOUND HERE OMG EARTHBOUND
Im 90% sure Protodisco by Nulut samples something around the bridge part after Flower says "I haven't danced enough yet!" ("mada odori tarinai no!")
I legit have no clue where it's from but it sounds like some kinda rap or other song
