I grew up in this brownstone! In the 80's my grandparents moved out of their kitchenette(they shared a bathroom with other neighbors on the floor, that was located in the hallway) into their first apartment, which was located in this brownstone. Their apartment was located on the first floor straight to the back of the brownstone. It had a huge living room and a cute court yard in the back, where we would have cookouts for the holidays❤❤. It was such a cute apartment😍😍❤❤. My siblings and I spent many weekends and holidays here visiting our grandparents ,after we moved to Brooklyn from Harlem in 1980. I've moved back to Harlem 20+ years now and I often walk down this street, just to walk pass this brownstone. And I always say out loud, thank you granddaddy and grandma...for such a beautiful childhood ❤❤❤❤.
Hold onto your bloomers... In March of 1977 this house sold for $28,000! May of 1999 it sold for $110,000 then in September of 2016 for $1,550,000.00! It’s currently listed for $3,250,000 as of January 2021! 3,250,000 ➗ 28,000 = 116 (116.071429) Aah real-estate! It’s a beautiful townhouse and the location is great however, the renovation is too modern for my personal taste. Why are there two full kitchens? Is someone planning on splitting up the townhouse making several apartments? The first kitchen did not appear to be a kitchenette, that’s why I’m asking.
There are 2 apartments. The door going into the living room on the main floor is the divider between them. The main floor kitchen and living areas at the back go with the bedrooms in the basement. The second apartment is comprised of the the remaining floors. The front rooms on the main floor are a common area for both apartments.
@@jeffreynolds4416: Floor plan sounds a bit confusing. I have a friend in San Francisco who has a house with a separate living area in the basement with a living room, bedroom and kitchen. There are other houses like that, some with only a bedroom and small kitchen area, always on a separate floor. But they don't have a common area where they hang out with their tenants.
It's actually two apartments with some common space, more suitable for an extended family than two unacquainted families, so prospective buyers will be limited. They may have to wait a while to find someone.

I used to live on 136 Street and seventh Avenue in the brownstone! They had plenty of room because I remember six rooms including just one bathroom though!
This whole video just gave me sexxy vibes from Da music to Da camera angles positions and speed Then I just inserted myself into this well done masterpiece of a home. I caught a nice vibe off of this😁
I could stand it for maybe three years, if that. Who wants to go mountain climbing every day when they come home from work? 😓 This is a house for very young people.
Lol right. Get your 10K steps a day in just at home!! Forget the fact you'd be living in NYC and all the walking that goes along with that YIKES!! LOL Beautiful property though.
I would have knocked down the wall between the parlor and the livingroom to join the two. The cabinets in the kitchen are awful and the kitchen in general looks awkward. Stairs are Beautiful 😍the entire second and 3rd floor as well as the basement bravo, well done 👏
Nice furnishings, nice amount of space. the layout tho is all jacked-up. in its for-poor-folks-"heyday", it probably had six oddly-shaped apartments. more should have been done to make a better flow throughout.
A woman commented her grandparents lived in this brownstone in the 80s and you are exactly correct. 6 apartments with kitchenette and shared bathroom with 1 other tenant back in the day.
@@janedoe805 I had both of my knees replaced also and thats still too many stairs for me. Ppl think you get your knees replaced and before you know it you're running up and down the stairs, hiking, and jogging. Maybe for some ppl, but here it is 2 yrs later and while the horrible pain is gone I still have problems with stairs. Really like the house but need a lift.
It's everything..beautiful outside, charm and elegance on the inside, with coziness not lost in all the lovely < space >. Wished I had seen a larger master suite with his/her bathrooms. But this setup is purrfect any which way. 💐

To do a major renovation, then sealing the fireplaces makes no sense. Gas fireplaces would be cleaner than wood burning, which I would have done. Anyway, very nice taste here.
This is stunning as a personal purchase intended for a person or family. However in typical nyc style🙄 I’d bet several people will be renting out rooms(which I hate about nyc living!) 😤

If the camera work had been slower and smoother instead o f swift and jumpy, people would have gotten a better sense of the layout. I never saw a washer and dryer. And some of the bathrooms were not fully shown. Ridiculous

Were these brownstones once multiply dwellings?

I love this area of Harlem. This home is hands-down gorgeous. Beautifully and tastefully updated :)
two kitchens? however really nicely done reno
Beautiful home!! I would need an elevator!!
Me too.
Why didn't they show those 2 empty rooms on the 3rd fl?

Beautiful Home. don't understand the two kitchens tho?
Unique home, but did I really count 5 floors? 6 counting the basement or lower level! OMG! Who wants to walk that everyday?

I agree that space in the parlor is kinda small for a dining area might as well extend the room ... but it may be a load baring wall 🤷🏽♀️
The door between the parlor and living room is the divider between the two apartments. The parlor is a common room for both.

Why are there 2 kitchens? Confusing. Gorgeous house.
the two kitchens are for extended family, parties, one kitchen for the caterers , Air BnB, a kitchen for the kids, that part
Absolutely beautiful 😍 ❤ god bless 🙌 8
Why dont you show the bathrooms? End why are there two kitchen?
My thought exactly.
There are 2 apartments.

Too many 😩
I lost count.
5 with a rooftop terrace. Pretty standard for Manhattan townhouses.
Beautiful 😍
With the high rents this is the end of the working class and poor in Harlem.
Beautiful, but needs a elevator!
Yes, the people in the apartment on the upper floors will be paying hefty rent and will expect an elevator. I would.
OK call me naive 2 kitchens? Ground level one seems worthless as there is nowhere to eat inside on that level.
The dining room could have been @1:32 instead of that waste of space.
