Agree with you guys here. I had about 2 years worth of learning and playing the electronic organ, and some years later in high school the teacher in the music class was having us try all the different instruments. I was surprised to find that my previous experience with the electronic organ had trained my brain to be able to play the simple beats but nothing complex. I am always amazed at how excellent drummers make all things look so easy and simple.

It's honestly adorable (in the endearing, literal sense of the word, not the sarcastic sense) when a non-drummer sits behind a kit. It kinda takes me back to when I was first learning, and seeing people's sense of wonder (both at trying to play and with the instrument itself) makes me smile.
I think people who can play drums, even just the basics, take for granted just how much coordination it takes. It's a lot more complicated than it looks. I finally got it. If you have coordination/cogitative issues, pause the video at 0:51 and set the video Playback Speed to .25. Go grab some silverware from you kitchen as your drumsticks and keep replaying it in slo-mo over and over again once you have the beat in your head. I recommend starting with the right hand and getting that tempo down first. Then work in the foot. Once you have those two beats down consistently, introduce the left hand because I feel that is the hardest.
In a way I get what you're saying, but seriously mate... did you really just master 3 component groove in 2 minutes you held the sticks for the first time in your life and never struggled learning?
I don't play drums, but I decided to check out your channel after seeing the unassuming woman who plays down with the sickness in an older video. This really looks so fun and gives me a newfound appreciation for percussionists, it definitely must be harder than it looks. This really makes me wish I could learn to play! Playing drums sounds so cool but I wouldn't be able to do that at home with my current living situation, since they're so loud and also need a lot of space. And I bet it costs a lot too since they're so big and so many add-on parts. Thanks for inspiring my musical interests though! Really makes me consider picking up an instrument again.
These days, we're lucky because there are so many options for quiet (or even silent) practice on the market. Lots of compact options, too. They aren't all cheap, but some are fairly inexpensive. And, of course, the most economical option - a practice pad - takes up almost no space at all, so it's a win/win! Only a drummer would scam $20 out of someone. I can't imagine taking money in front of a camera when you obviously play. You should have known they were drummers by the drool.
I totally would but I would disclose that I can play. How often do you get to play a little something in the middle of the street? That's just fun 😁 And maybe it'll get some other people excited to try as a bonus.
Start with just the hi-hat to establish your rhythm. Then add either one of the drums, then the other. Keep that hi-hat tap going, though. You can practice just tapping on a table. Use two different parts of the hand; one sharp, like a knuckle or fingertip, and a softer, thud sound, like the palm for the bass.

@@Giantcrabz It's very important the riser is level to maintain even drool leakage across the mouth.
I'm taking Domino's 30 day drummer course on Drumeo, watching this I realized I'm not so bad. All beginners start like me struggling at first haha
This was such a fun video to make! If you've always wanted to try drumming, check out 30-Day Drummer with Domino: www.drumeo.com/30-Day-Drummer
Brandon Scott snuck in those clips on the beach. Get him on an episode of Drumeo! He is a beast!
Very fun video idea
Drumeo
You have the most beautiful smile.
I’ve only been playing for 3 weeks and this helps me see all the progress I’ve made
some people are just buzzkill. why would you turn up if you already play? get some shame
I totally would but I would disclose that I can play. How often do you get to play a little something in the middle of the street? That's just fun 😁 And maybe it'll get some other people excited to try as a bonus.
Nice to see people finally came around. That last woman, souks have got $20 for Spirit. Great concept.
8:07 "So this one goes with the.. this guy.. the.. the drum?"
haha is so cute to see people learning things for the first time
9:19 "Didn't I do it for you.."
Lot of people at the end, so cool !
I was wondering how many people would say they didn't play drums just for a chance to show off. Loved the stick twirler. :)
Awesome! I love it!!!!!! Thanks for doing this!!!
:D Domino is so great for this type of video, she has such a great personality.
