    The ski sauce store is fully restocked. Grab sauce, gaiters & stickers while you can! I'm bad at math so I probably didn't buy enough inventory again 😂www.skisauce.com/?srsltid=AfmBOopH6C2-mmRdeBQH55hSzBGZftjoUOB01jeG_1BSa2yr26ZGViWZ

    We love road trips!! Fernie is the kind of place you'd want to be your home mountain. It's pretty big not a lot of crowds with good snow and excellent all around skiing. Not the hardest stuff out there but that's ok. Mad props to Laura for hitting the corner pocket!! Yeee Haw!! Happy New Year!! 🙂🙃🙂🤪

      Thanks Andy. You're totally right, such a home mountain kind of vibe. Snow ride really good every time I visit, it must not be fluke at this point. Very stoked for Laura trying Corner Pocket. She's a way more confident hiker than me so I think she was more comfortable down climbing than she is skiing LOL.

      No worries. I tend not to do it at places I've skied before as I have included lots of run names in previous years videos. It takes additional time and sometimes if I'm editing on the road I have no wifi to make the text so thats why it ends up without.

      Fernie is such a vibe. Super fun good tree runs and amazing bowls for someone like me that loves hot laps hitting jumps cliffs and chutes it is one of the best playgrounds ever. My best advice is stay high. White pass and bear chair. And explore some super cool stuff to find and sometimes entrances that seem scary but are actually chill will hold amazing snow

    That “cool building” at the end of the video has a ton of history. It is currently the ski patrol boot room but it was originally the ticket office at the bottom of the resort. In between it was actually relocated mid-mountain as a small warming hut. That building has been moved all over the mountain doing different things.

    Fun fact: The A-frame cabin you pointed at beside the maintenance lot, was the one of the OG buildings/cabins on the resort. Used for various things throughout it's life time. The hill is the backdrop of the town, it's basically at the foot of the resort, right on the Elk river. I always enjoy the views on the drive into Fernie approaching from the east, because the resort towers over the panorama, and is visible from 20 kms out... Highway 3 winds it's way through the first couple mountain ranges, this side of the prairies, and most of the towns are situated right along it. Makes for some nice easy access, compared to say, WhiteWater or Kicking Horse. You'll love Fernie. Gotta eat at Nevados if you like tequila bars.

    Hey James not sure if this would work but I have a problem with my instep as well and there being too much pressure in the top of my foot where the tongue presses into it causing the numbness and pain.
    I bought a new pair of boots that I couldn't wear for longer than 10 minutes without my feet going completely numb and useless and I got recommended to try 2/3 length insoles inside my liners instead of the stock insoles that come with them.
    Saved me from having to return an entirely new pair of boots, Night and Day difference.
    Literally Zero numbness going on anymore and I'm actually able to wear the boots all day riding with zero complaints.
    I'd suggest trying the 2/3 length insoles before going and cutting apart your liners. That extra 1/8" of space in the Toe Box from swapping the Insoles made the world of difference.
    Very cheap fix to a horrible problem (cost me $25 for the insoles)
    Lemme know if you try this and it helps you. They were 2/3 length High arch support insoles the brand I got was RooRuns $25 on Canadian Amazon
    Keep up the great content Brotha!

    • @riseandalpine
      @riseandalpine  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      The solve I have found is to cut the tongue right out of the boot where bump is. I also have no issue with the foam liners in my Unlimited touring boot. If you have a 'higher volume boot' it's not going to be the shell, it will be the liner. I'f you're gonna invest in liners, get zipfits because you can keep inserting and removing foam and they will last for ages. I'm thinking about Zipfits myself but don't have the $$$ saved to cough up.

    • @CanadianTracks
      @CanadianTracks 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@riseandalpine I've got 2 year old Intuition Power Wraps with an extra piece of high density foam at the shin area. The fit is almost perfect. Just that they have a little more room after 2 hours of skiing and then requires the usual adjustment of buckles. But ... there is a small issue of heel hold that surfaces when doing moguls in tight steep trees. So the fit is 85% to 90% the way there. And the Zipfits (plus new footbeds) is $$$. Seriously considering it but reluctant because at the end of the day it might be only a bit better (or worse!) and the only way to know is to shell out (punnn) the money and try. I don't see any negative reviews of zipfits. Which may reflect that they really are the bees knees -- or maybe that no one wants to admit things are not perfect after shelling out (punn) valuable ticket money. I do like the idea of a fit that lasts years though. But is the cake real and for what feet types is the cake the wrong flavour.

Currently, I'm not paying for boots so I try to work with what I'm given. In this case the boots feel totally fine if I put my old liner in them or my foam touring liner. It's 100% a liner issue, not a shell issue. I got home and cut the tongue right out of the liner... No joke, no tongue. It's working okay but I think I'm gonna put j-bars on my old liners and keep humming in those until I can afford zipfit.
