Your story is so sad but you should be super proud of yourself. You survived the hardest time of your life without help from anyone. You do not owe anyone anything. I'm so proud of you young man.

Hmong people are like that, when you become successful they want to acknowledge you and want to be a part of ur life but when you are struggling and needs help they don’t bother, I’m happy for you brother, you over came all obstacle that came into your ways and succeeded with out the help from anyone, I would not go back and stay away from ur uncles, your a strong person and may god continue to bless you……..

So glad u never gave up and continued with your education. You are where u are today because of you no one else can take that credit. Don't look back and don't let the past keep u from going forward. You have a supportive wife and children to enjoy your success with. Best luck to u and your bright future.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. My heart quivered in agony. I admire you so much and wish that I could've hugged you as a child and a growing child. I had a very loving and fulfilling childhood so I can't begin to imagine the kind of heartache you've had to endure. May your Mom rest in peace and may your life be greeted with nothing but happiness and peace

It was so wrong of all your relatives to place the burden of guilt of your father's crime on you. Shame on all of them for treating you so badly, and they now want you in their lives once you became a success in life just so they can now use you--shameful, absolutely shameful of them. You don't owe any of them anything, don't ever let them talk you into giving in because they don't really care about you, they just want to use you. Everything you earned (education and job) you earned on your own through hard work and perseverance. It's despicable that your father tried to guilt trip you into accepting him back into your life when he's the one that killed your mother because he didn't love her. Stay strong and support only those who supported you during your darkest hours.

Your story made me 😭😭😭😭😭 how can anyone turn their back on their orphaned nephew/grandkid. It is absolutely inexcusable! Absurd! What terrible people your relatives are. Your tais was truly a hero. I’m so proud of you for not letting those people who mistreated you get in the way of your education. Love yourself and love your wife. Forget everyone else. They only want you now for benefits. Your maternal uncles, they are ashamed and hopefully trying to redeem themselves, but your paternal family, forget about them. They basically threw you to the wolves in fear of your tais’s curse. Of course she would curse them! Their person killed her daughter in cold blood. Now that he has no place to die he wants to claim you as his son! How shameless and thick face. All those years in prison didn’t teach him any lesson. He still thinks you owe it to him for conceiving you.

This is Hmong culture at its cruelest level. Orphans are viewed as less than human in our culture even if they are our own family members. Abused, neglected, and taken advantage by your own family. Very sad indeed. So glad, you made your life better so that you challenged the view our culture have on orphans. I don’t blame you for how you feel about your family.

I'm so sorry for everything you had to go through. I swear Hmong people are the cruelest and that's why they don't have a land of thier own. I can't believe this happened here in the USA. I hope your uncles and Aunt get KARMA back. I'm proud and happy you made a commitment to pursue your goals and dreams and never gave up. Remember to love yourself, your life and everything you have. DOn't even bother to give in to other people just they looked down on you. Always remember you deserve to be loved and deserve every right just as much as any other.

Brother bless your soul. This is probably the saddest story I have heard to date in 2022. Not only are you humble but wise. I'm glad you stood your ground and you didn't let anyone try to take credit for your hard earned success. Continue to hold those that truly love you near you and distance those that see your success as their opportunity to be relevant. Although my story is different than yours mine is similar in that mistreatment only makes a conscious person work harder to make it in life owing to no one. Let go of the pass and live life how you want it for you and your family. I'm pretty sure your mom is with you always in spirit and proud of you. Hats off to you brother.

I’m sorry you had to endure so much pain at such an early age but I am glad to hear that you had your grandmother to love you. Although you may have not been treated equally with much respect growing up, God definitely watched over you and had plans for you! All those years of heartache you will forever remember but please continue to be that righteous man that you are and forget your past so that you can move forward with your life. You have become an intelligent and successful man because of what you’ve experienced and we are so proud of what you have gain; strength, knowledge, purity. Continue to inspire, grow, and love those who matters most to you and close to your heart. Everyone deserves happiness and kindness! May god continue to bless you with good health, happiness, wealth and may you never have to go through such pain and heartache ever again.

Life was definitely not fair but through dedication and perseverance, you were blessed with an education and wonderful wife. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He shine His face on you and May you continue to walk in His truth and love. You were not alone for God was with you then. You just didn’t know it. I pray that you will be able to forgive those who didn’t love you and continue to pour love into those who loved and care for you. I don't usually comment when I listen but I just want to say, you did great. You held your ground, fought your demons and at the end came out victorious. What both family wants from you they will never get it. The only thing they got at the end was Karma. I pray you and your family happiness and success. God bless.

Very wrong for your uncles to make you help pay for your grandma's funeral. So glad you fought it through and is having a better life now. No need to go help those who were never there for you to begin with. Best of luck to you brother.

So... glad you followed your foot step brother. I've been through that route. The only thing I'm lacking is been a soft heart and think of others beside me. I support others but at the end I was the one who suffered. Those that I've support, at the end they back stabbing me. Back in 97 I should of concentrate on my education like what you did. Thanks for sharing your story. Whomever been through then that person know how it's painful.

God the the only one who knows what's your life going ?
Good for brother , you have strong followers your plans.
But you said know you are believe God, if that's true, you should be forgotten what's your dad doing to your mom.
Because your dad is dad no matter what? Even god still considers he's your dad ok. Humans make have mistakes. Hope you learning the mistakes from your dad and loving your wife and your kids.
    Thanks
