This is so similar to my step-father's life story. After he divorced my mom, his life went downhill. All the ladies that he thought he had all dumped him. He was only attractive to them because he was married to my mom. Now, he's in a nursing home too. So sad..

Why is it so hard for me to pity this uncle? He choose his own path and let his ego get the better of him. I don't blame his ex-wife for not wanting anything to do with him - I would do the same if I were her. Actions have consequences and it's probably too late for this uncle. However, admitting your wrongs and reflecting on what your wrongs is the first step to move forward and finding your own happiness.
