  • In this video I show my full process for a CPU transplant. This includes preparing the donor board, reballing the CPU and NAND, and moving the EEPROM. This technique is mostly necessary for severely physically damaged and bent motherboards, which causes disconnects under the CPU.

    Nice video! We have a 12ProMax that a local repair shop told me the CPU was cracked due to a drop. Can you confirm that a CPU can’t be replaced and still allow data recovery? That’s what I’ve found from reading online due to the encryption design. We’d like to recover the data but I don’t think that’s possible. 😟

    Please mention temperature and air during the time of blowing.

    Great content as always. Wanted to ask what temperatures do you use on the iron and hot air for the underfill remove on the CPU ?

    • @iBoardRepair
      @iBoardRepair  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like to use 200 - 220c on the hot air when I am just using it to support the iron like that. Iron was at 350c. I am not very firm with my temps though and sometimes change them.

    I saw your post on facebook and decided to take a look at your video and I would like to say that I really enjoyed your video, my congratulations!!
    I have some questions to ask you if you don’t mind to answer me…
    How millimeters is you nozzle, what is your temperature when you removed the CPU and when you cleaned the CPU? I appreciate it sir.

      @iBoardRepair  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure about how many millimeters. I don't usually measure things like that, it is just by feel. My temp when removing was about 365 - 370c and about 220c when cleaning. But I am not strict with my temps and I sometimes change them. I think some people do it hotter then that. Maybe some do it lower too.

    Aaron where could I be going wrong ? So I have attempted CPU work on the A14 series about three times now and everytime I turn it on after a CPU swap I get a shorted ram, where am I going wrong is it the heat I use when removing the CPU ?

    • @iBoardRepair
      @iBoardRepair  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just need practice. I don't know where you are going wrong, it can be anywhere. Too much heat, too little heat, too much pressure, who knows.

      I just use the normal temp I use for all other types of soldering, which is about 360c and 60-70 air

      I have the old quick-2008 also the one that you have 861 and i prefer the 2008 , but in the end everyone can master his own machine , so for making videos its really disturbing when live videos you make .
