Karasuno and Shiratorizawa rivalry also exist too from both coaches. Innate strength vs evolving skills.. .that's why it was called Battle of Concepts
100% that match is probably the best when it comes to analyzing pure team philosophies, but in terms of a rivalry I don't think it quite has the history so I didn't mention it in the vid!
18:18 when hinata told kenma to come next year, then it shows Nekomata's face. This is so subtle but I love it so much, it is a call back to what coach Ukai said to coach Nekomata every year when they are young. now the relationship is passing to next generation and Nekomata can retire with no regret
So good!!
The scene where Hinata Just jumps and forgets to hit The ball is a huge step in his character development. It shows he doesn't Care about scoring as much, he cares about other things aswell.
So good!!
This is my favourite match in the entire series, the build-up and the emotional beats are just so on point. One thing I love about Kenma and Hinata is that yes they're rivals but they're friends first and foremost. When Hinata got sick during the Kamomedai match, the first person to seek him out to try to cheer him up was Kenma, bringing a tablet because he knew Hinata would want to feel closer to his teammates in some way. That's such a sweet thought, it makes me tear up every time
What I love about this series is that in almost every team Karasuno played against, they always learned something new and uses it in other matches. The long feint Hinata used against Kenma was from the match against Tsubakihara.
This video almost made me cry. Haikyuu therives on rivalry, be it individual rivalries or team rivalries.
Happy you enjoyed the vid! It is so true, the rivalries in Hiakyuu are really unmatched
I found your channel after I watched the haikyu movie. Your analysis, it brought me back straight back to watching the movie without all the adrenaline. You perfectly encapsulate why I love this anime so much and why I was so excited for this movie.
Glad you enjoyed the vid!!!
I LOVE this match. It was amazing from start to finish, and when I got to the image of the practice match in the manga, I have to admit, I broke down and sobbed. If the movie does this justice, I might be embarrassed in the theater
This is the game that made Coach Washijo believe in Hinata. And also gave him his golden ticket to success.
Thank you so much for making this video ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!!
I was so happy seeing kenma have a full smile and genuinely be happy
I just want to say thank you for making this amazing video
Glad you enjoyed it!!
dude I’ve never really seen people Analyse haikyuu before omg THANK YOU FOR YOUR PREACHINGS
I love this video!!! Especially cause I’m not allowed to read the manga so this was really helpful!!
It's a great video, but is it intentional to pronounce date tech and furodate as "date" when the correct pronunciation is "dah-tay" and "foo-roe-dah-tay"?
I wasn't sure if it was a bit since I've noticed it in other videos and it has obviously not been corrected.
Man i still remember while reading the manga Nekoma is such an tiresome opponent they won't let the ball drop so easily .It was struggle to get even one point against them . And the best thing was we as a readers were able to feel it.
I had so many expectations going into this match and somehow the manga exceeded them all with flying colours
Loved this!
Can't wait to watch the movie, hopefully we don't have to wait too long for it to come to America! Glad you enjoyed the vid and in the beginning it was meant to say that they have opposite personalities not that they play as opposites, but now that you point it out I can see how it is confusing ahaha
The ending to the match made me confused when i first read it but i love it. I could not see another ending to their match
Nothing gets me emotional like when it cuts to them practicing mid match
I think a great testament to how incredibly written this rivalry is, is watching reactors' view of the "Battle at the garbage dump" evolve as the story progresses. In season 1, when it's mentioned first, most are laughing at the name itself and often waving it off. Yet, when we get to season 4 (especially episode 18), many of them can't stop their excitement about the fact that if Karasuno beats Inarizaki, there will finally be a Battle at the garbage dump.
This was a great video! I just watched the Blue Lock video as well which was great too. You have a way of covering the matches that isn't just a simple recap but a deeper dive into them while still covering all the significant beats, good presentation, too. Would you ever consider covering the Inarizaki game like this? I've had it on my mind since my mate just finished S4, and god damn it might be my favorite haikyuu game, besides the last game. Well, the Kamomedai and Nekoma games are really good, too, I don't know lol, it's hard to pick with this series. I suppose it depends on the day. Do you have a favorite? With a title like "The greatest match in sport anime" I may have to assume it's the kamomedai game though haha.
Really glad you enjoyed the vid!! I did make an Inarizaki video when season four of the anime concluded but I may revisit it in the next couple of months. I am doing a WatchAlong of the fourth season of the anime on my Discord through Patreon starting in about a week, which may be the best way to get my up to date thoughts on that match! I think Kamomedai is the best match but they are all so great it can be hard to choose!
I was so sad when the ball fell out of kenmas hands but in saying that it was an incredible match and one i could watch for weeks and still joy from
Seeing the flashback to grandpa ukai and nekomata when they were younger was SO NICE seeing them as volleyball idiots
I love this since it's a friendly rivalry. There is no bad blood whatsoever between anyone.
best anime ever!
Im hoping the movie can adapt this match faithfully
Goku vs piccolo as opposed to Goku vs vegeta 🤔
Another hypothetical situation I thought of was what if Hinata started working out in his first year? Like every week or so, Hinata would be able to stay at Yamaguchi's house or a senpai's house to go weightlifting instead of his long 30-minute bike commute home. How would this affect his strength and power as a potential ace? Given his tenacity, would he have been able to go head to head with the other aces? Would he have been able to learn about the importance of rest days and self-maintenance early on? How would have this affected his high school career as a volleyball player? I really needed to get that out of my system lol
Karasuno vs Nekoma: Birds of Prey declaw the competition.
they're are not opposites, hinata plays middle blocker and kenma is a setter😀. Anyway, great video and I cant wait to hear your thoughts on the movie!
i’m pretty sure “opposites” is used to describe their play styles and/or personalities, not positions on the court, although i may be wrong.
some jokes land, some jokes dont.@@brightonhigbee1834
he's talking about their view and attitude for the sport. Hinata is very passionate while Kenma is nonchalant when it comes to volleyball.
Cassual stuff right here
Damn great video mate :D
Let's leave tons of comments to boost the algorithm ;)
Ye
Agreed
Much appreciated!!
"Please make a video on the Karasuno vs. Kamomedai match and the Schweiden Adlers vs. MSBY Black Jackal match. I really like your voice-over videos!"
I already have a vid on the Kamomedai match!!
Why is the thumbnail Hinata and Kenma fighting with knives
That's a real chapter cover.
Goku vs piccolo my…..goku vs. vegeta
They are both iconic!
Ch no
*I don't want to say it, please don't say it* This plus the manga is better than the movie
aight just gonna stop you on the title and tell you as peak as Haikyuu is, this is not anime's greatest rivalry
