i think she banned her because frieren makes her sentimental and she finds it annoying. plus i think she genuinely likes frieren but they dont see things the same.
From what i have seen she doesnt seem to like Frierens view on magic and her not striving for more.
Not enough to hate her, but saying she likes her seems like a stretch
The association banned her for being too powerful. It has been said during the 3rd exam that Frieren would end up killing all the examinees if they continue the third exam as planned hence why Serie took over as the examiner.
Frieren is the living reminder of Flamme’s existence,who she won’t admit she misses very much
@@carjac820 thats not exactly what she was saying, serie was saying weak mages made it through the second test because frieren basically carried them through on her back. then they would have died during the 3rd exam because they werent strong enough and shouldnt have been there.
Serie Just made herself more lonely by banishing the only one that may be able to keep her company every few centuries

remember that she hated the flower spell of Flammes? calling it useless? In the 3rd test of the 1st class mage, she create that flower garden, BY THE SAME SPELL. Yeah she's a big Tsundere. Also she said she's disappointed all her disciplines didn't get to the peak of magic, yet she remember all their name, their favorite spells. It's not the fans are right, it's the truth.

The reason why she's like that to frieren is probably because despite being long lived like her, she doesnt try her hardest to reach the peak of magic. 😊

Mages that don't specialize in close-ranged spell tend to have a hard time dealing with melee fighters. That's why Stark/Eisen was important to their party makeup.
Frieren banned for 1000 years for smurfing in 1st class exam
Smurfing would be if Frieren pretended to be 4th class or lower and then overpowered everyone else. Instead she said she qualified and showed everyone her totem. Instead of people saying "yeah, that's proof of being a powerful mage" the response is "wow, nice antique." She tried to show people her qualifications.

@@alex_zetsu Serie said that the 2nd test wasn't suppose to be that hard, and Sense was suppose the final boss of that dungeon, but since Frieren was in the contestants pools, the final boss switched to Frieren clone solo all contestants, literally she alone can wipe a lot of mage out of the dungeon all by herself, Sense included probably, which is unfair imo, and yes that count as smurfing in my eyes.
If frieren wasn't in the exam, ubel will just oneshot sense and everyone passed. I think serie will be even more disappointed lol.
Serie has got a fun sense of humor. The ban will probably outlast the organization itself, which I'm sure Serie is aware of, so it's literally just "Better luck with the next guild I make"

And then you remember that while a century isn't that long for Frieren 1000 years is pretty much how much time passed between meeting Flama to now. So yeah, hell of a wait.
The magic association will be long gone by that time, even the empire most likely have fallen already.

@@Borderose Frieren is a lot older than 1000. Her apprenticeship to Flamme was 1000 years earlier, and she only looked a couple of years younger at the time.
Personally, my guess is that 1 year = 1 day for elves.

She bans Frieren because Frieren is too powerful to be taking this exam with normal mages. Her potential involvement in any future exam would trivialize and compromise it. A lot of mages were able to pass this time because of her after all. This ban makes sense.

If the reason was because Frieren was too powerful to be taking the exam then she wouldn't have failed her promotion to an A Rank mage which she is clearly qualified for and would prevent her from being involved in future exams. She's just being petty. Besides, a lot of mages would have still passed if Frieren wasn't there because without Frieren that final boss of the dungeon would be Sense who gets hard countered by Ubel. The ban does not make sense.

Although not family, these two clearly have enough history to warrant a similar label.
So when I say this, specifically apply it to family members: NEVER get involved/inbetween the bickering of family members. NEVER! Like, ok, if they're throwing fists, try to keep both of them safe....but don't EVER argue for or alongside them. You just don't do it.
Why? Because as the "outsider" to this situation, you have NO idea what the history between these two are, and you need to respect that if they're fighting, you need to leave it be. Just be supportive after the fact. During the argument, shut your goddamn mouth.

Do elves in this series live a really long time or are they ageless... I can't remember if it was ever stated.
If it's following the elves of Tolkien, then they stop aging after they reach maturity. In other words, they won't die unless killed.
Serie is from the mythical era (which is basically the dawn of time)
Milliarde is probably 2nd oldest and while we do not know how old she is, her name means "billion" in german. Unlike the other elves, we know that milliarde did pursuit a path like all the other mages but ultimately led to nothing which is why she became a neet to waste away the rest of her long life
Kraft is older than frieren, he was a hero way before frieren and the hero gang and his name became lost in history, only to be remembered as a forgotten hero
Frieren is the youngest of the elves and from her fight with aura, we know she is at least 1000+ years old
tldr: no one even knows if its like tolkien, whether they have a set lifespan like humans/dwarfs just in the hundreds of thousands or the current ages of the elves unless yamada kanehito tells us more
