Not surprisingly and as expected that we will see a lot of these derivatives of Millenium Milo 1.5. It is good though for consumer and DIYers. So that we can get the optimum price for the best product. :)
Really happy to see you guys creating content. I wish more manufacturers would show us "behind the curtain" of what they're working on, it's sooo cool. Maybe you guys want to come on the podcast and tell folks about your channel and all the news?
The V-Chonk looks like a really fun project, I can´t wait too see all the mods people will come up with. Also, the production quality with the new studio is absolutely incredible!
I like that the core XY is growing fast on the community. The density compared to bedslingers is great for closet setups etc since you can fit a larger build volume on smaller footprint.
Congrats to the winner, seems like an awesome machine! Cant wait to rep out v chonks on my 500 I just bought! However, I think the first couple things people are going to do is find a way to break it into smaller parts, and to enclose it!
awesome to see more cncs , i am currently in the process of buiding a 5ax trunnion table, and i think it would fit verry well on the ratrig mill. its really helpful for konplex multi-op parts
I have 6 Rat Rig printers (including the first in the world V-Core 3 - no, I'm not going to live this down), some are already in the basement, others in the office as I don't have enough room in my house. I still badly need a V-Chonk and a Mill :D I don't know where I'll put them but that is not a factor now :D
I filled in the form regarding beta testing one of the mills. Is it also necessary to provide movies/pictures of your own creations made with a hobby CNC or to show your 3D drawing skills?
Like the idea, but how many printers with bed size 400x400 or more are here really? Even 350x350 machines are quite rare AFAIK, to make it popular I think it's necessary for parts to fit at least on 300x300 surface. Could the be e.g. mini size of the same with 120x120 which could be printed on more widespread printers?
Over 80% of the printers we sell are 400x400 or larger, so you will definitely find a lot of Rat Rig users with those areas - make sure to join our communities!
the mills look amazing and i'm very excited to see and hear more about them! v-chonk is a cool design exercise and seems very nicely designed, but i'm not sure it is the most marketable product. in the projected price range there are many good options, open source or off the shelf, that are likely better by not focusing on the design constraint of being mostly printed. i guess offering kits of non-printable components shouldn't be too difficult for you so theres no harm in it, and if you need usable parts to run through your testing print farm then thats an advantage, but i don't see it as the most exciting end product. as a refined building block and contribution to the empowering, decentralised open source rep-rap future it is a beautiful achievement though and it can bring alot of positive interest and recognition to your company and brand. in that vein, i would suggest the name REP-RAT which i feel is more meaningfully descriptive and more clearly associated with you, it's designers. or, although it has a bit less of a ring to it maybe RAT-REP because rep could stand for replicator and representative at the same time and make a little more sense, because i see the design as an excellent calling card for your main product range. i guess the thoughts work with both variations of the name.
Heresy I know but would be cool if the option for differently coloured extrusions was offered :) a black and green machine sort of stands out in most homes lol
It doesn't have to be so different. MM is a derivative of Openbuild MiniMill's design, correcting the flaws they made. RR Mill can do the same; that is the nature of open source. That said, from what I have seen, there are some structural differences. For example, the Z-axis does not move the plate; it moves the whole structure to keep the volume changes by the change of the spindle position (that might raise a question about the stiffness there though), and there are a few things the MM folks needed to do, such as adding bellows to cover the linear system. I also see some disadvantages, like no additional workplate. In the end, all these are good for DIYers since we get the best product through collective development at a competitive price. You should wait and see what will happen when Chinese manufacturers realize this design. :)
How dare you, you dropped information about the milling machine and then, "WE CAN'T FIND PRODUCTS MATCHING THE SELECTION." there is nothing on the website yet. I'm super hyped! :-D :-D
"If you always wanted to have a CNC but could never convince your girlfriend to fit one in your two-bedroom apartment, this is your best chance ever" This hits really hard. Wanted to get VCore3.1 300 but had to get the 200 Sadge
It's nice to get news, but the mills we've been waiting for being slightly customized Milo 1.5, with an aluminum frame and no ballscrews... that's a disappointment
You are several orders of magnitude from a self replicating machine. Until you can 3d print a controller, motors, wiring, nozzles, heaters you are not remotely close.
Congrats to the winner! V-Chonk looks like a fun project. I imagine the first community mods will be splitting it down to smaller bed size builds.
This would be an incredibly fun project
Ratrig for ants
@@danielbatista3090 Mouse Traps?
I'm waiting for those mods so that I can print its parts on my K1.
V-chonk-XL ???

Would love to, let's talk! :)

How about a "not so chonk" printer, that can be printed on a 300 bed. I mean the v-chonk print volume is almost the same like the v-core 200.
The mill looks bonkers! Awesome!
100% call it the V-Chonk! Chonkyboi
Using the linear rails free floating versus using linear rods is interesting. Why not use linear rods?
Congrats to the winner, seems like an awesome machine! Cant wait to rep out v chonks on my 500 I just bought!
However, I think the first couple things people are going to do is find a way to break it into smaller parts, and to enclose it!
The V=Chonk looks like fun and the price seemed reasonable. Might find a home with my RR 500 and 400
Great job on the mill you guys!
This is a fantastic! I am excited about the printer and CNC mill!
Does the Rat Rig Mill have ball screws or lead screws?
awesome to see more cncs , i am currently in the process of buiding a 5ax trunnion table, and i think it would fit verry well on the ratrig mill.

That looks REALLY interesting.

The line about convincing the girlfriend to have a CNC in the apartment was inspired by you! :)
time to expand your house
Like the look of those mini mills!
Super excited for this. Will use my V-Core 500mm to print this...... 😀
The V-Chonk looks very interesting. Another Printer to tinker with like my The100 😁
I filled in the form regarding beta testing one of the mills. Is it also necessary to provide movies/pictures of your own creations made with a hobby CNC or to show your 3D drawing skills?
Have more information about the mills? Good enough for steel?
lovely give away would love the little brother ^^
Soys los mejores, me gustan todos vuestros proyectos, seguid así, un saludo.
Best open source printer! So well documented and fun to build
My 500 rocks
Love the V-Chonk - I will build one.

sounds good V-Chonk
Love the mill, awesome work
News letter link isnt working for me, says page not found

Me encantaria probar su nuevo modelo y darlo a conocer a la comunidad 3d de Venezuela.
I'm a huge fan of the V-Chonk name
why did the v-core 200 is no longer available ?
So in which way(s) do the mills differentiate themselves from the millenium-mills Milo v1.5?
It doesn't have to be so different. MM is a derivative of Openbuild MiniMill's design, correcting the flaws they made. RR Mill can do the same; that is the nature of open source. Make a portal mill.
2024 Will be the year for the mini mills, first the millennium milo and then this. Exciting times and can’t wait to see the final offerings from both!
Interested in the mills in particular.
Will certainly be filling the beta form in for the mill 😁.
How dare you, you dropped information about the milling machine and then, "WE CAN'T FIND PRODUCTS MATCHING THE SELECTION." there is nothing on the website yet.
I'm super hyped! :-D :-D
Requires print bed 400x400 to print parts -> looks like design from low skilled engineers. The video shows how the printer parts shake.
Fantastic
Make it! I would love to win one!
Cant wait for the mill!
Wow i Like my Minion but this could b a fun Project to build
❤ I want one
And the mill 😍
What a beast printer
Very nice ❤
Fuck, those mills look stellar
V-Chonk sounds good but how about a V-Cube?
450e for a Full Kit would be Awesome.
I mean even a V0 Kit is easily 450e+
"If you always wanted to have a CNC but could never convince your girlfriend to fit one in your two-bedroom apartment, this is your best chance ever"

Boa Malha! n vejo a hora de ter alguns €€! abraços farenses 😅
that will be my milling machine!
It's nice to get news, but the mills we've been waiting for being slightly customized Milo 1.5, with an aluminum frame and no ballscrews... that's a disappointment
mechanical kit?
pls put it to sale , that 3d printer is a beast for the price
looks cool
Klicky probe in base project please
ratrig please send me a v-chonk 🥺
You are several orders of magnitude from a self replicating machine. Until you can 3d print a controller, motors, wiring, nozzles, heaters you are not remotely close.
You look stupid for this comment.
V-chonk-XL ???
Please make this official
dang, another sexy mill like the milo, now i guess i have to get one :/
Really interested in the mini mill! Loving my vcore 300. Non stop printing for a year and a half now!
I need a new one pls I need it😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 v chunk
On the mill, fill the extrusions with epoxy-granite.
WOOOOOOWWW
450+vat dont get me wrong nothing special about this kit to be bought....
Those mills will be so loud using aluminium as the frame 🤢
Fill with sand kills the sound and vibrations.
