Yeah, he’s really great. I completely recommend him. His Cities Skylines series it fun, and honestly, all his videos and streams are great. His Phoenix Wright series’s are fantastic too.

It was funny, of course, but Etalyx was really robbed lol. I know this was just for fun and not a super serious competition or anything, but it seems like a real lack of integrity on Dan’s part to essentially cheat the whole “philosophy” part of the grading rubric by outright lying about his initial vision and not telling Jerma upfront that he wasn’t originally gonna make a Barbie house. Also, him looking up Barbie info on Wikipedia while everyone else presents their houses seems kinda cheaty. Again, he didn’t know any of that shit when he was building the house. Seems kind of unfair to use your position as one of the last people to present to look up info you didn’t know during the building phase to try to apply to whatever bullshit you made. I think RT even went over by a couple seconds and continued painting a wall even after the timer stopped. I know I just wrote a lot and probably seem like I’m mad or something. I’m not lol. Again, it was pretty funny. But cheating is cheating, even if it’s for a no stakes friendly competition, and him winning just really rubs me the wrong way since it really wasn’t deserved based on the grading criteria for the event. If it was a lying competition, sure, he should win hands down. But he deliberately circumvented certain grading criteria he knew he would lose points on by playing it off as intentional, like saying he planned on building a Barbie house from the start, or that the paint bucket he forgot on the ground was actually ice cream, or that the toilet sticker on the wall is historically accurate when he really just ran out of time.
I know I’m biased as an RT fan, but I believe the entire tournament was just about entertainment. Nobody else is having serious tournaments about building houses (to my knowledge) and there wasn’t any money involved, so fairness doesn’t matter. RT’s lying made for hilarious content, and I feel that’s the most important thing
