This is a great video... I built these washers in my hometown testing the machine and boxing them was fun. This test makes me wanna buy one from the factory itself. Thanks for this.
Just a tip - when you're spraying the vinyl, try and position yourself to spray down rather than straight into it. Less likely to force water behind the siding..
The main thing that I sometimes find difficult is getting the air out of the system. You want to do that before starting the motor, and it can be very difficult if you are downhill from your water spigot. Also store this thing in your basement in the winter -- if you freeze the pump you'll need a new one.
Flush the pump with RV antifreeze. If you have to just pour a couple cups of antifreeze down a garden hose and pull the recoil cord to pass the antifreeze through, you don't need to start the machine. Remove the high pressure hose to see the antifreeze come through, and blow out the high pressure hose with a compressor. Not to complicated. Some of the seals and rubbers inside a pump might not be petroleum grade rubber so might not be good advice to use oil...
I got one of these the old manager at my work just gave it to me all because the pump needed replaced the inlet cracked so I have $100 for the pump in it that's it not bad for an almost $400 unit
The height is for a lower center of gravity. Due to its higher output. if it were to have the other style mount it would tip over by a simple jerk of the hose.
Exactly, this is one of the reasons I specifically went with this style. Less likely to tip over when moving around etc. I had a Generac before and had to always be careful when pulling on the hose and moving it around not to tip it over. Much easier to happen than you think. This was thoughtful design by Simpson.
Question if I'm not going to use soap dispenser do you think the fitting should be capped or anything,I was just wondering if it would cause a air leak since it's not sucking any soap, Thank you if you or anyone could answer that question for me. Also great video I saved it for when I purchase mine thanks 👍 again 🙂👍
Im having a really hard time getting the soap tip to fit In my pressure washer. Is there anything I can do? Every other tip fit's fine just not the black plastic tip.
I think my soap one was also tight. You can try spraying a little WD40 or something into the locking mechanism where the tip goes in to see if that will help.
So I hooked up the siphon line to the one gallon bottle but the spray is Not spraying any of the chemicals from the bottle, is there a switch or a handle I must push for the chemicals to spray out the nozzle?
With the hose on but the engine off. Spray the water without turning the gas engine on. You'll have some air go through for about 10 seconds before water comes out.
I just ordered the Simpson PS60919 it’s rated at 4400-PSI and 4 GPM. I wanted to get the ALH4240 but it was not available. The PS60919 it’s rated at 9HP and the ALH4240 it’s rated at 13 HP. Can someone explain why the difference in HP when they both have the same Honda GX390?
I know a siding distributor. He says to NEVER wash siding under high pressure such as in this video because there is a thin protective film on the siding. Use low pressure and some form of detergent only.

Home Depot customer support tells me that this can siphon the water out of a bucket. I’m needing to use this where I don’t have access to a continuous water supply. Have you found this to be true? Does it work as well when siphoning the water out of a bucket vs. using a garden hose?
What is the fastener for the tire called. I bought one of these. The tire falls off because it didn't come with the fastener that clips around the axel. It's not a nut or a pin.
i ordered the 3200 psi model the other day. pretty much the same thing from 4 years ago but I dont think mine has soap dispenser which I really dont care about. my main desire was to replace the troy bilt power washer that Ive had for about 8 years. I finally blew a second pump . It had a honda motor which is a big deal to me but the pump was a vertical type at the bottom and that kinda sucks. plus the frame kinda sucks as well. hard to move around. I needed a honda motor with a horizontal pump which this has so we shall see i guess
I ordered this unit online and they shipped one with the wrong handle. They called and left a vm that said they were aware and needed me to call back for some reason. I have no idea why they did not just send the right handle to the same address as they shipped the pressure washer to! I called back and they put me on hold for a half hour. I eventually had to go to due being extremely busy. I called again and again and just got their vm. I left vm's confirming all my info and please send the right handle. They never did. I spent 2k and they are pitiful. Won't buy from Simpson again.
They arent the same specs by a long shot. The Stihl has a 430cc engine and a 4200 psi pump. It also has a vibration dampening system and a much higher quality pump. The Simpson is for residential use and has a low quality pump. There is much more technology and quality in the Stihl unit. Its like comparing a Chevy Cobalt to any BMW. Yes, they are both cars and carry the same amount of people but, there is quality in one and just a few cheap components thrown together on the other.
@@Killobyte my pressure washer kept turning off when i pushed in the lever. so I left it out and i pressured washed for about an hour and a half until it died out. When i checked the filter it was covered in gasoline. I have not tried to turn it on since then. Do you think i ruined the engine?
This power washer is useless. It has not soap tank. So I guess they want you to carry around a 3 gallon soap container with your 3rd hand. Or if you prefer you can move the soap bucket every 3 feet as you move around the house. Let me add that it sits about 1.5 feet off the ground so if you are taller than 4 1/2 feet you have to bend over every time you move it and do a crab crawl if you are moving it any distance. Did I mention the muffler is right on top of the motor with no protection from the hose touching it and blowing a hole in it? What about no fuel shut off, did I mention that? In the back of a truck it will get flooded and won't start, come storage time, you either run the gas tank dry and carb or use stabilizer for the fuel (which I do not like to do) Just purchased this unit and will be returning it tomorrow. Thanks for the review, this is not directed towards you, it is towards the manufacturer.

I suppose you could cap it but it works well stock.
Does it have a way to shut off the fuel so it won’t build up bad stuff on the fuel lines?
I don't recall a fuel cut-off. I'd recommend using a fuel stabilizer or siphoning/running it out of fuel before storage.
