How quickly can you complete EVERY Shrine in Breath of the Wild? [1/2]

After preparing for the entire month of October, I managed to pull off an All Shrines Speedrun in under 12 hours! Using a crazy amount of glitches and tricks you're able to do some pretty amazing things in the game! Hope you enjoy the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild run!

@@nielsvdw6141 Glitchless runs are the most boring and uninspired things to watch. Huge waste of time for the same result, hell I'd argue they aren't even speedruns. But that's just my opinion.
@@MeruXYZ personally I am a fan of No Major Glitches speedruns. so you don't see the game completely break apart. (looking at Super Mario World, Super Metroid and probably a lot more)
"Nobody does glitchless" and then proceeding to walk through the wall is correct. He said that no one does it without glitches, while he just used glitches, confirming his point. It is quite absurd how some wouldn't see him not using glitches.
I'm of course elaborating over the chat.
Boomy zoomies aren't actually glitches, everything in the game is working as intended. The first bomb sends the second bomb flying into link at extremely high speeds, which causes link to move extremely fast. Everything is working how the developers intended, so it's not a glitch. The same can be said about stasis launches; everything is working as intended, so it's not a glitch. The only thing you wouldn't be able to do in a glitchless run is BTBs because that uses bullet time mechanics in an way that is unintended by the developers. So the travel time between shrines would be slower, but still pretty quick. Also, since boomy zoomies aren't actually glitches, you can still use them to get to the end of many shrines. The only huge difference between glitches and glitchless would be the tests of strength because skew clips would be disallowed, meaning that you would have to stockpile a LOT of weapons during the run, which would probably make it less enjoyable to watch and to play because you'd be spending like an hour of the run just gathering weapons.
TL;DR: Boomy zoomies and stasis launches are not glitches, but BTBs are. Travel time between shrines won't really be affected all that much by a glitchless run. The major difference would be tests of strength because you can't do skew clips.

Imagine the troll-faces on the developers if you had to do the entire Tarrey Town sidequest chain in order to unlock a shrine....

Actually, that wouldn't even take that much time. The WR for Marriage% is 43 minutes. More than 16 minutes of that is just the great plateau. A lot of time is also spent just to travel to all 4 regions but since he has to go there to complete shrines anyways, he could save a lot of time through efficient routing. I skipped through the Marriage% WR and if one were to do that quest in an all shrines run, I'd estimate that it would add about 15 minutes or maybe a bit less to the run (including the cutscene btw). Or I guess how SmallAnt would've phrased it "About 20 minutes"
@@MysteriumMystery Well sure, but for casual play when you don't know the inns and outs of the game, a shrine being locked behind unlocking all of tarrey town would be annoying.
@@Twinrehz If you're playing casually and decide to do all shrines, I doubt you wouldn't stumble upon the quest and after that the game guides you to completion anyways. On my first casual playthrough I finished less than half of all shrines, yet I still completed the Tarrey town quest

What even constitutes a "Glitch" is completely subjective.
In my mind Clipping can't be considered a glitch, and a high proficiency at bending the game physics to your will can't be either.
And that's basically all Ant is doing here.
@@Broockle its more about semantics than it is about definition. If you use the word glitch in these context its understood to encompass the abuse of the engine, mechanics, design, structure, etc.
I would say that definitively you are correct. But semantically, "glitching" the game would entail playing the game in a way that the creators DIDNT intend. Not necessarily in a way that they tried to prevent, but usually in a way tht they didnt forsee.

Hello, Ant! I just want to say how much i love your streams and how much they make me laugh. You have also really inspired me to attempt speedrunning. I’ve mainly just been working on bomb launches but i’ve been using trees only cause im not good and the other methods are a little complicated for me. I also just have your streams on while i play botw. I also really like how you tell people 20 minutes, that’s the funniest joke ever honestly. Thank you for being an awesome streamer and keep doing what your doing because your doing it great!

I got the 12:50 shrine by making my own fire and continously lighting arrows on fire and holding them to the ice without firing. works like a charm.
