Your Wingman most likely slid upwards when you put your weight on the ring of steps and made noise because it has no teeth on the platform which stops you from setting it. Look into the Mobile Sniper from Treetop Hunting. It is a 2 piece one stick with a 12x14 platform. You will love the size difference 👍

Very nice set up. I have been looking at the Bullman outdoors platform steps for the contoured steps. But definitely like the squirrel steps.

Awesome setup, you are well on your way to ultimate mobility lol. One suggestion I have to take it further, maybe look into a rope mod for the squirrel steps? Not sure it is possible, but you might be able to go with like a trucker hitch with a tender. Maybe the Amsteel guy's ultimate stick attachment or Hang Free Attachment System (sewn in tender) or just make your own hitches. I think you could ditch some metal and maybe some weight.

Love my squirrel steps, noticed your not using the Guide ATC in this video. Did you change to a different setup for one sticking and rapelling or is that just for this video since you weren't planning on rapelling down?

Glad you got to get some meat for the freezer. How long can you stay in the tree on these little platforms before your feet and ankles get tired? I would think a foot plate more in size with both feet would be less of a strain on the ankles??
