Give this man a camera company
but all he wants is a perfect camera
some "smart" camera company should put him on their advisory board.
YES! I was just about to comment the same!
He could have a go with Pentax lol
@@rezzoc91 Yeah man let's make it happen🫡 Pentax Conspiracies
You are absolutely right, we had a very serious discussion while I was in Siemens some 20yrs ago...after a long genuine arguments we figured out that the quality products are an outcome of quality customers...you see that is missing now, and the gloriously mediocre corporations are exploiting this abysmally stupid state of customer mindset...
It sounds like the famous egg and hen question. The manufactorers nowadays are not willing to release "perfect" goods. They must just fit to the market. A missing feature is a chance to sells newer models, which itself also have missing features. - Is it possible to sell a good camera with 12 mega pixels having A and S piority modes with manual zoom? That will already fit for most of us.
@@haraldsimon2807 Mods engaging in censorship...this channel is trash because they censor the public
Maybe too many people just do not know what quality looks like. Take Samsung, who dominates the smartphone market with overwhelming market share, also makes a myriad of products, yet Apple who technically sells less iPhones and products by comparison, is a company worth seven times more. Siemens though a completely different market all together, is worth a third of Samsung…
Quality is as subjective as beauty, Mercedes / Lexus / Tesla, it depends on who you ask…
🤔
@@Superz3ro Right, but quality is not bind to a brand itself. This is already marketing. In fact, i owned some cars of premium brands and all of them got technical issues. My last cars are from a typical japanese manufaturer and none of them had any issues. So, what is quality mean?
Ah, yes: Many poeple do not take the time to really get the basics and to learn. That is one reason why many "stupid" things can be sold.
Sadly most tech has gone from "we wanne be the best yeah!" To "Stay with us because the next thing is gonna be crazy! You'll want it trust us.... ah did we say next thing? No we didn't, here a minor upgrade now shut up."
Manufacturers and advertising companies do not ask what you want, they tell you what you need.
I got into this channel a couple years ago, pre gh5 and I thought: “well this guy will have 1 or maybe 2 years of content since the perfect 4k 120 ibis dual pixel face focus camera will exist “…. Well he will be here for a looong time since companies are racing to the bottom. #longlivecasey
"Your oversharpened nostrils are crying to your ancestors."
- "Brilliantly written"
"Now Sony has one-upped them, and removed their best freature..." 😂
I'm genuinely happy for your success.
Theyre going to be playing this video in their next board meeting
😢😢😢Your tears, your abject sadness and appropriate disappointment splatter over us like safety glass from a shattered auto windscreen. The wretchedness you have evoked in camera company boardrooms must surely change hearts and rusted minds of imaging company executives. You have opened my eyes to the evil being perpetrated. I with you, am shocked and appalled, dare I say sickened by the failures outlined by your very good self. I have heard you AND I understand your pain.👈 👈 👈
I agree 💯 that this is a problem.
While capitalistic competition can inspire growth, that competition becomes so tiring that companies subconsciously (or sometimes secretively) find ways to work together to stagnate that competition.
I think one cause is companies trying to trick the market of new photographers who want to "upgrade to a real camera" from their phones but who don't want to take the time to research what specs they need (because they'd rather learn by doing, and I don't blame them)-- so they ask the person selling the gear, "Tell me if I should give you my money and why," or, "will this do all the things I want for an affordable price," and they hope for an honest answer.
This would not be a problem if we lived in a society where everyone were invested in everyone else's well being.
*Fear based competition* is really what the photography community has become, both from companies and photographers. 😬
We'll never keep up with the weekly camera updates. I don't use 99% of the junk in my cameras that's been added for marketing anyways.
I'm actually anxiously awaiting your review of the om5 LOL
Everyone should watch this video until the end and watch it twice. Appreciate your critique of the camera industry in this videos.
The ZV1F 100% could have been an aps-c sensor camera. That would have been unique for street photography. 1 single competitor to the Ricoh GRIII, but wider.
Spot on! Still trying to sell that Fooj. Maybe the second time’s the charm. The x-h series do not hold their value like the x-t. Just accept the fact that you are going to lose at least 35% of its value and move on. Put that money toward the FX30. You will LOVE the form factor and cinema features!
YES. Truth. The competition is such that the consumer is a pawn.
This is one of your best videos yet
You got the thing completely right. SUPERB!
I was a little scared that something beyond "Can I sleep in your shed" is going to come. Thank god Casey you stopped there.
13:32 voightlander its actually been a Japanese brand since the seventies, when Cosina bought the brand name ans started producing lenses in Japan. Cosina also manufactures most of the Zeiss and Leica lenses you own.
It is made by Cosina which aquired brand name of the Austrian guy with name Voigtlander.
Nice message in this video.
Avoid the Panasonic G100 convection oven. It crops too much to fit in a pizza.
You speak to me from the soul. Everything today is just so underwhelming. This is why I still stick to my old but still good enough EOS 550D and a cheap chinese smartphone from 2019.
I just bought a 5D. Dailying an xpro1 and abusing a Nikon EL2 and Yashica Electro 35 every other weekend, I think this degrading (reflection of a) world is telling me we're truly living an inverted life and I better hold on to all the solid bits.
Thanks a ton man!:) Keep it real, always.
i feel like your points can be applied to life in general.....society is a hot mess
Glad you finally acknowledged the C100 mk ii, superior image.
Got my thumb to up this for the opening analogy alone.
You remind me of an astute Happy Gilmore in the nicest possible way. Love your style. Subscribed.
I don’t see the affiliate link for Montellier water 🤔 best product placement ever … the bottle was more in focus than you were 😂😉
Nice heartfelt and higher consciousness encouraging episode... Of camera business and consumerism :p. But yeah: I'm totally feeling the same for the world, and about Nikon's righteous push.
"...and that new friend of his..." Haha brilliant. Come for the thoughts, stay for the snark
Since digital photography started taking hold suddenly everyone is a professional photographer, and they can prove it by sending you to their crappy Instagram filled with over photoshopped/over filtered photos taken on their phones featuring their pet of choice or the ever popular Dutch angle that makes them feel super artsy. That is their target market and their research at least got that much spot on correct.
Bro... Snobbery about digital photography? Really?
Yes make more video form cameras and leave our cameras alone that are creating outrageous prices. Fully agree!
Camera companies could learn a lot from the craft beer business where brewers share information readily and often collaborate to make a beer that they market as a collaboration and credit the various brewers involved in the project. Imagine camera execs. sitting in folding chairs around the brewing equipment drinking good beer and listening to brewers from different companies sharing their ideas and recipes. They would be aghast, but after consuming enough beer they might actually talk to each other and share an idea or two. Then again those camera execs. may only drink very expensive wine made by 300 year old wineries. Daydreaming again.
The first thing all these camera companies need to do is condense their whole camera lineup down. Each company just wastes so much time and money on excessive crap. It’s a fricken nightmare for regular people to sift through the crap.
That just an uninformed consumer problem, to be honest. The big 3 already have a very stripped down offering. They all have a low mp video centric model, a mid ground hybrid, and a photo centric high mp model. That’s pretty much every company today except the weirdo ones.
"Fuji with your leather pants." 🤣
Sony, we await your return to the actioncam market.
I don't zoom on ZV-1 because it's super LOUD and annoying. Literally terrible for when recording video, so it's always on most wide, which as you know, is still too narrow. I still really like that cam though, it's my studio cam now. Works better for that than outdoor shoots to me.
Outstanding info--love your observations and entertaining style. Glad I found your channel...new sub!
Sensor speed, for equal megapickles, is the same regardless of sensor size, just the heat output changes. The bitstream and processing power needed is the limiting factor not sensor size.
I love this video quite a much!
I really like my G100 and am learning with it. I will buy a GH6 when I can use it competently and access its benefits. Then I will buy the Sony 7S V or Vi. It’s a long journey of many choices for how to make good pictures and the many compromises along the way
What a nice mindset, good sir.
Nothing but the Truth in this one!
The breville tabletop convection ovens are great.
Yeah my parents have a delonghi toaster oven that's still going 25 years later
I wish I could hear the slow mo song on loop continuously irl
Who’s gonna snitch and give me the name of it…
Best video by far
Thanks to TH-cam pinch to zoom feature, CC videos are even better. Try it. You’ll thank me later.
"Is this a race...to the bottom " - lol
Voigtlander is actually Japanese. Great company!
The nicest looking video you have ever had on this channel is the Olympus.
The reason I prefer the GoPro form to the Sony one is for mounting on a helmet. You are forced to mount on the side with the Sony and then the helmet gets in the shot. With the GoPro, you can mount it on the chin of the helmet to get much more accurate POV shot.
Exactly. Every single camera should be designed specifically to mount on a helmet. In fact, we should only make cameras that are built into helmets so China can't make money on cheap plastic mounts anymore.
@@jaaxxone well that's just silly. I simply stated my preference and gave my reason for it. I have a dozen cameras and they are all for different things. I never claimed only GOPro form was legitimate for everyone.
@@TommyJonesProductions I did not mean to imply that was what you were saying. I was trying to point out the absurdity of every action camera manufacturer making cookie cutter copies of GoPro rather than innovating or broadening their customer base.
"That's how things used to be made, for respect. They wanted to give you the best they had." #righttorepair
Indeed, the world of tech is in regress, and camera tech especially - in the affordable range (Sony is hardly affordable, but I digress). And cripple hammers everywhere, it's savage.. it's a new bronze age, a bronze age collapse even...
i’d buy old film cameras over digital any day, they’re insanely cheaper and have better quality
Agree.
I don’t remember the brand but I got a toaster oven from Costco that was also a convection oven and also an air fryer but used metal basket instead of the Teflon stuff
"Race to the bottom"
What do you think about voigtlander 23 1.2 for fuji? Any chance for 3d pop?
Sony was supposed to unveil a successor to RX10 mk4 with computional photography abilities included. It would be the 1-type sensor race horse with powerful slowmo and what not. Where is it?
A leader through & through
Grandfather turtle running away from a slug. Got it.😀
Can't beat Panasonic Micro-Four-Thirds convection ovens!!! As long as you don't need your food in sharp focus all of the time....
You should make a video about Sony RX0ii! How Sony lost this battle!! I would like to see a RX0III (if it is ever released) to have uncropped full frame 4K to 5K 60 readout 10 bit with 16 to 20mm fov, variable aperture f1.8 at it's widest, continous autofocus and yes talk with gopro and get rocksteady stabilization in it with 1 inch sensor ofcourse. Now that will be a game changer for action, vlogging camera market!!!
We have an even older still working microwave bought in 1984..I think...I have the 18mm Batis ..it's amazing...Today I left the P50pro at home & went out with the RX100..it's faster to use easier to control shutter/apature iso focus point..still great to use and fits in the back pocket...video is only possible with integent active stabe on a tripod....the P50 has excellent stabe ..but the RX100 is more fun...why Sony even bother today with a zx..f useless as a studio cam..zv1 is perfect..useless as a vlog cam. ZV1 can vlog but any phone is better..& for $399 zv..f you can buy a used P40pro/+ P30pro or S10 S21...LG V40...mostly for $200 or less...hear you can buy a Batis 18mm for around $350 today Thailand less still
LUMIX G100 with digital stabilization on and Leica 8-18 looks way more stable than Sony ZVE10. I love it’s bright screen and easy S&Q.
I love PENTAX.
If camera vlogging was in the world of Highlander, you would end up as The One 😅😂🎉
No company makes one thing that is the last thing you'll need to buy of that type. That's bad business these days, and the newest is often touted as the best, regardless of it's apparent defficiencies. As you say, camera makers are stripping features out rather than refining them. The camera industry really doesn't know right now if it's making their items to a specification that people will pay for due it's superiority over previous models or if they're being made a to a pricepoint with a ceiling that more consumers will find a attractive. They're lost their way in the last 10 years, it seems like no one knows what to do and instead of taking risks they keep on hedging their bets to keep relevant to their existing market without attempting to grow it. It's also worth noting that smartphones make people dumber, and the challenge of getting the most of out of any decent camera isn't something a lot of people see as a worthwhile investment in time and learning based on the results they're already happy with on their phones.
Sony ZV-1F in general, DJI Action 3 focus issues and the Insta360 X3 picture quality. Who has the bigger fail?
Dude, you’re funny!
The Sony Rx100 VI and the Rx 10 IV are great little 1inch sensor cameras with decent 1080 240p
i also wonder , if go pro can add an auto focus..
Another case in point: OM-5.
Benefits to 6:30 am feeding of the baby, being first to this video!
2nd to view, going to bed in Australia 😉
Congrats!! ♡
Standby for OM-5 disappointment. Same 5 year old 20mp sensor and way overpriced. I’m predicting the longest frustration/disappointed pause ever at the start of the video for that one. (I hope I’m wrong but I fear I’m not)
The Lord Of The Rings ship just turned into Titanic 🤣🤣
The camera industry is a business running without any sensible business reasons still in existence for running a camera industry.
ooooh were do I get Fuji leather pants ?
I think most Panasonic zoom lenses are stabilised. Not the ultrawides though, and very few primes.
People need to understand, it doesn't matter that you shoot in 8k, TH-cam MIGHT let you upload it in 4k. Then when you watch it on your smart phone it might be in 1080p, probably 460p or whatever it is. That's what this is on and he uses a 3500 dollar camera. You probably don't need 8k.
(12:35) interesting how Fujifilm and Nikon are not cutting it with their Phase Detection systems. I wonder why people think Lumix would magically be any better if they adopted PDAF too. OM even has 1053 focus points to add to their PDAF, nine times more than previously…
BTW: Look into the Breville Convection Ovens, they can air-fry and dehydrate too, amoungst other things…
🤔
Take a drink every time we hear “Stabe”
A drink of Montellier lemon water maybe? Just tell us they are a sponsor. If they sponsor you, congrats! Well done sir, you’ve worked hard for it! I hate product placement though.
I just want a decent 1080/480 slowmo camera. Please, Conspiracy Gods, make it happen
What camera do you reccomend for filming at low light and good dynamic range for fast moving cars and being mounted on another car rig as well. Also something that's able to be taken out of a rig for close up detail of the cars interior. Fuji X-T4 is what I currently have and I love the Fuji magic, but am I missing out on the X-H2s or an X-H2, Or a whole other system? Budget for the camera body is £2500 or about $3000 US, Thanks.
Samsung has done most of the things right. The nx3000 with an apsc sensor and the own lenses were so damn good , i miss quality.
An old man yelling at clouds! I feel the pain...I seen the truth...That is why i use Ricoh / Pentax ;)
I support you through not supporting you(?)… I’m so confused I understand everything clearly now… 🤯😂
Mind blowing comment. This guy is actually super genius, on the low.
It makes no sense because Sony's own phones shit on the zv1f yet they still act like this new generation wants a new, cheaper camera that does as much, but not even better than what their phone can do.
When I saw Gerald's video and saw the output of the zv1f I actually laughed out loud, and honestly I feel Gerald kinda did wrong using the selfie cameras(which yes I know that's what the general public uses).
My Xperia 1 III which can't even use Sony's gimbal and external screen like their newer phones can puts out better video than a dedicated camera they made for that and that is sad.
Even a successor to HX90 would be much better than ZV1fail. Sony made crap tons of smartphone camera sensors . They should know how to make a more modern and powerful HX90, with good Ibis.
Sony clearly wanted something they could offer the market at $500, so important things came out and you get a fixed lens 20mm lens. I'm betting iJustine's fans will have fun with it, Gerald Undone's fans will avoid it (very knowledgeably) and Camera Conspiracies fans with despise it with a passion... none of which will cause Sony to repent and invent a high-end vlogging camera for well-heeled Go-Pro bros.
When Panasonic finally brings phase detect auto focus to the table, they will no doubt be king for a day. Until then, our only options are over priced mediocrity from the competition.
Cheers 🍻
Panasonic will never make pdaf work well. Fuji can’t , Olympus can’t and others too.
Panasonic needs to just make photo cameras with amazing stabilization and stick with their normal auto focus and then make a true line of box style cinema cameras m43 and ff with built in nd,s to 10 stops and just straight up leave auto focus out.
@@colinthomas2525:
I still love my G9, it takes excellent looking pics and records excellent looking video which is my primarily use. I have faith that Panasonic will bring a home run to market and totally spank the competition.
good thing this comment didn't age well and now we're all enjoying the bless that is the s5ii/x and can't wait to see what they do in their s1 line
so the "Z" in the sony zv lineup is for gen-Z?
Yes, Gen Z- Vlogger.
I think you might need to take a look at the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven. I had the opportunity to get one for cheap braely used and now I regret it.
Dude, respect for your work, helped a lot lately! Also my memberberries start kicking in..member digital hi8 .. oooo i wish they put on this for the next cam
And then it happend ... again back from the start, let' reinvent our sjit but now 3ccd and mini dv ... high expectations..some came through... and then...let's do it again ... but I'm rambeling now.
Again, much appreciated
ANOVA precision oven is what your want. Is a bit pricey, but it's well worth it
Product Management is hard
I think the ZVF camera was made for …. Well The BH video I think explains it.
The modern camera industry is just depressing. The cost of this equipment is just delusional. It's the same thing in the silicon industry where computation components are constantly going up in price disproportionally from the actual manufacturing costs. It's to the point where a high end graphics card is now a serious investment. The camera industry isn't any different, probably worse as these cameras are priced multiples higher than the manufacturing cost, with a lot of them really failing to offer much utility beyond my phone. It's no wonder phones are dominating as you get a computational device with an okay camera bundled with it. I mean, my phone was 500 bucks and if I wanted to its good enough to use as a desktop and I can do some pretty decent photography with it.
Meanwhile these companies keep pushing out hybrids with the leading video stats on high MP sensors that for some reason still aren't global shutters for like 5,000 dollars. Meanwhile the dedicated video equipment has worse everything, but they have active cooling. Meanwhile these hybrids with the flagship video capabilities don't have active cooling and overheat all the time. Not to mention the tiny batteries. These cameras are made for no one really but so many youtubers just push the consoom narrative. Personally, all I want is an X-H2S that doesn't suck with active cooling and costs something reasonable like 1,000 dollars or so. And no that's not unreasonable, if anything that's still too much.
Long story short, I see why film has made a resurgence. Spend 100 bucks on a body, 50 bucks on a lens, 25 bucks on film, and now you're composing with a nice lens on 35mm format.
Oddly satisfying❤️
