Maybe because they didn't find anything on your stool (normally, they tell you to come back 2-3 days after) or they didn't preserve/examine it properly.

Normal saline allows you to observe live motile trophozoites in stool since Lugols iodine kills most parasites but demonstrates morphological details that allows you to differentiate between various parasites.
