Two things about this lap are frightening.
1. Hamilton didn’t have any tow
2. He didn’t even do his quickest 1st or 3rd sector
Pretty close to bottas actually, but still amazing.
Neither did Bottas.
Crazy, his first sector was a little off. But what a lap!
On the live show it showed it bein a personal best 1st, purple second and yellow third sector
Bcos the first and last sector is mostly flatout... this where mercedes dominate the mid speed corner and skillful hamilton really help to get it puple... just my two cents✌🏻

I would have loved to see Kimi in that car. The fastest and most talented driver ever in what could possibly be the best car ever. Lewis is fast but the he relies too much on material. Kimi was pure pace.

@@abdihassan7208 during his lap down right there is a box that says his lap time and how he did in each sector. If it was yellow it means he was slower if it was green it mean it was his personal best and if it was purple it was faster than all of them in that sector. So in sector 1 and 3 it was yellow and in sector 2 it was purple

This car man...Mercedes's masterpiece. One of the best F1 cars ever made.
You can't get the best result simply because of the car. Hamilton is the driver to get this car over the line and break all the records because he is the difference maker. There's a reason why Niki wanted Hamilton in the Merc seat. He's always been a late breaker, pacey racer. People also never credit Hamilton for having a hand in developing the car to what it was (last season was peak). HIs input at the factory is severely underrated imo.

And due to the future regulations making the cars a bit slower around a lap, it is most likely that the W11 will remain the fastest F1 car ever.
That W11 is simply the fastest car in F1 history and one of the most dominant as well. The way DAS can help warm up the tyres to perfect temperature is incredible.
And when Lewis is driving it, something from the outside has to go wrong for him not to put it on pole and win the race.
Lewis was never in a position to win 13 races in a season like Max, Michael or Vettel. 🤔😉

@@thomashayhurst6547 I think the MP4-4 took 15 out of 16 wins, actually. However as my comment stated, the W11 is one of the most dominant cars. Not the single most dominant car. I think however it is the fastest car overall with regards to speed. It broke so many track records throughout the season and had some of the quickest race times overall. Sure the W05, W06 and W07 were very quick and very dominant compared to the rest of the field as well, but if comparing directly with the W11 on lap time or race time, the W11 wins, I think.
@@Toby_Jensen my bad. Statistically the MP4/4 has a higher win percentage (93.75% against the W07's 90.47%) and I totally agree. The W11 is by far the fastest F1 car in history. One of my favourite clips of it is the way it takes turn 4 at the Hungaroring.

People forget Lewis from his first championship in 2008 he went 5 years without winning the championship with not the best car but still won races and Ferrari for 2-3 seasons had the best car but still managed to maintain winning races he had Alonso, button,rosberg as teammate.

@Gianky Visc he understood that he had to leave enough in the tires so he could go green or purple in sector 3. Bottas was leaning on them too much in sector 1 and by sector 3 they were overheated.

ASC D he only went purple in 1 sector out of 3 which means if he had have gone purple in all, that lap would have been a lot faster in F1’s standards. Not a Lewis fan but that so something special

you're basically ignoring the existence of Leclerc, Ricciardo, Verstappen and Vettel. Alonso too next season. @@MT-pp9yy The cars in mid 2000's were purposfully slowed down by the grooved tyres. But the naturally aspirated V10 engine had as much power as modern V6 turbo hybrid at the max engine and ERS mode. In 2004 and 2005 the F1 cars actually had higher top speed than modern F1 cars. For example, McLaren cars in 2005 were pulling 370km/h at Monza in race conditions.

Nah man. Great talent, but most people don’t like him personally. Also Bottas success should tell you how much of it is the car. His talent capitalized on the opportunity but give him a car that’s not glued to the track and it’s a different story. He’ll probably win his 8th title this year but he still leaves a sour taste in people’s mouth. I wished the sport would go back to mechanical grip and force the drivers to drive. You still have to have generational talent to win at F1 like he has but his recent Mercedes championships say more about his team and manufactures than him. I respect 2007 more than recent years

I know it's getting boring to watch but we are probably witnessing the best driver-team-car combination in history of F1. The new regulations will bring back close racing in few years but until then even if you're not Hamilton or Merecedes fan pay close atention to what they're doing because we're going to talk about this phenomenon for a decades.
Bottas, a perfectly average F1 driver, is always close to Lewis and gets ahead frequently. Take literally anyone in this field and put them in Bottas' car and they'd do the same or better. Lewis is great, he's not the best driver on the grid by a longshot and he knows it. Lewis is bored stiff out there and has been for a long time. This is horrible for F1, I can feel myself moving on from this series, FIA rules were a response to a 4-year Red Bull dynasty and they created an 8-year Merc dynasty that looks to become a 12 year dynasty. May as well not even have drivers at that point. I'd rather watch this entire field on equal karts every two weeks than this farce.

Also I would never call Valteri a avarage driver. I see why you might not rate Lewis that highly, that's why i called it best driver-team-car combo because Lewis wouldnt reach the hights he reached without Mercedes's support and awesome car and Mercedes wouldn't be so dominant without Lewis behind the wheel and his work in car develpment (that's just my opinion).

Don’t get me wrong, lewis was extremely fast, but the car… on that second sector, with a low aerodynamic pressure kit, IT STUCK TO THE GROUND LIKE GLUE at 250+ Km/h… that’s just crazy. W11 is the pinnacle of the F1 technology, a beast.
Technically, Lewis is just as fast as his car.
Because he's in it.
mercedes really have the most perfect package in F1. rocket engine, slick aero, well-balanced chassis and a beast behind the wheel.

Don't forget, in a few races they will have the most statistically successful driver of all time to match their impressive resume.

@@XenoghostTV let me break this down for you. When I say statistically, what I mean are the basic parameters of what would be needed to be considered as the most successful statistically. Race wins, pole positions, championships, podiums, laps led etc. Percentage wins will always be better for the earlier pilots of F1 because the seasons had far less races. So if a driver had a dominant car in the earlydays, the probability of higher percentage wins were inevitable.
Based on the bulk of the metrics that are measured in F1 records, Hamilton WILL be the most successful very very shortly. Hope that clarifies my earlier statement.
and that with virtually no slip stream and no "party" mode... Their domination may be frustrating right now, but one day we are gonna realize what an amazing feat this really is

That 2nd sector is *literally flawless*
IMO in hindsight and after some replication on my own I only see fault with the second chicane, a slightly further braking point would’ve given him speed to carry out of the shallow second part- which in my experience is generally several hundreds faster than how he took it. You can see the car step out and have to be wrangled back in. Other than that a perfect sector sounds about right

@Safwan Ahmed their times were simmilar today because they had to use the same engine mode all the time. usually they switched on extra power for q2 and q3 which made them around half a second faster

@Jean Arenas if you ever owned a car, you know there is 2 brand that you won't question their reliability- Toyotas and Mercedes. Hell, 90s Mercs can still perfectly driven on the road, as long as you maintained them properly.

That car was like glued to the track. Power came on so early in the corner. It’s fantastic!
The commitment to some of those corners was amazaing! Trusting that the car will grip and turn. Brave stuff :)
This guy is incredible. The real Mcoy. Just the physical athletic ability (G Force effects, reactions and sheer mental skill alone) to handle that beast and get the absolute maximum from it.

Everyone is shocked by what he's accomplished, but look how steady he holds the car and his reaction time is almost perfect on those turns, this guy has reached God level. This is a perfect lap and I too am not a big fan of him. But fair is fair, that what he did in this video is very difficult to do, he hardly made any errors on this run. Congrats on this record L.H.
That car is just something else. No corrections whatsoever. Just steering input and the car goes where Lewis wants it to go. Just incredible

Rekenen You’re missing the point. Today’s record wasn’t the fastest lap time ever it was the fastest average speed ever. At the Bahrain Outer Loop it will likely be the fastest lap time. Likely sub 1 minute.
