    One of the most detailed trailer builds on youtube. Especially the the attachment point. Been looking for ideas like this for a long time but no one seems to explain how the trailers attach. Very well done! 😁

      Dont make life difficult for yourself...a lot of research went into the building of the the Bob Trailers...and its very easy to buildt...stick to that idea.

      @@truth-Hurts375 yeah, i kinda went the bob direction especially with how the trailer attaches to the axle hehe.

    Very nice project. It may have one or two flaws, but for a DIY it is absolutely great. I built a cargo tricycle myself and it has some flaws too, so I know what I'm talking about. Be proud of your achievement, you did what few others have done 👍

    first of all i just wanna say one thing, mistakes are how we learn. with that being said you really helped me with my project trailer , mine has a larger rear wheel, 26", to match my bike tires. but seeing how you overcame the obstacles during the process and came out with a really nice light weight trailer got me fired to do my own! thx brother! great job!

    I have made two of these 3 years ago it's been very useful and hauled many loads with this. It have well over 1000 miles on it and still is holding up well. Good job the issue I had when weight was applied to my basket it would sway when I got above 10mph but I have solved that problem no sway even at 20mph with the electric bike

    The bounce means it's flexing..it needs another piece of tubing or 2 going from the hitch to the bottom of the trailer

    How have the eyelets (intended for rack/fender mounting) held up to the strain of the trailer pushing and pulling on them as you accelerate and turn? I have been thinking about doing a similar build, but wasn't confident that the braze-ons would hold up.

    • @DmitriIvanov
      @DmitriIvanov  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As most of the load is in shear, they have held up fine. I don't think they are brazed on, they are part of the dropouts as one piece of stamped steel.

    That's going to bend with a single hitch tube coming up from the trailer, should have another running parallel with it up to the top of the bike head tube you have for reinforcement.

    An interesting answer to carting stuff around. A query or two, why such a small wheel on the back as a 20" is less resistance with better tire choices ? Your trailer is gonna hit speed bumps in the parking lot of the grocery store as it is very low. Just how much does your trailer weigh?
    I wish i could learn TIG welding but all the classes around here are for people who want to weld for a living not us who weld for ourselves.

    • @DmitriIvanov
      @DmitriIvanov  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mostly because of looks, and available garbage :) also we don't have parking lots here and therefore no speedbumps :)

    • @DmitriIvanov
      @DmitriIvanov  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to learn, open up youtube, watch all the usual suspects and then go on your local Craigslist equivalent and buy a nice tig machine. Not cheap crap. Reason: if you decide it's not for you...you can just resell it for the same price or even more if you got it for a good price!

    • @brucewmclaughlin9072
      @brucewmclaughlin9072 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DmitriIvanov I have done gas and MiG welding but TiG is something that gets a far nicer weld and I have yet to try it. A bit hard to do as I now live in an apartment where I am not allowed to do any welding. I will go check my lottery ticket and see if I can buy a small house and an enormous garage!

    No issues with assembly for me th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".
