Hey guys thanks a lot for checking the video out! Leave a comment to let me know what you think! Otherwise check out part 2 of the build here: th-cam.com/video/2emae-NpRIQ/w-d-xo.html
I made as many failures and mistakes as anyone else, I always ask myself if people want to see that or not. I've heard the same thing several times already that people do want to see it....maybe I'll include more in new videos :) thanks for the nice words!
With the single rear wheel so far back it would naturally transfer the weight of the load more towards the bicycle wheel. I think (for me personally) that I would prefer a more conventional two wheeled trailer with the wheels closer to the center of the load to balance it all out. It wouldn't look as cool, and it would make you a little wider, but I think the balance and simpler hitch design would be worth the small increase of rolling resistance from having another wheel on back. Plus the trailer with two wheels wouldn't flop over when unhitched, lol.
Nice idea there. Hope in the future I can do that bike cargo. Thank for sharing. Hope to see more concept for a bike. Watching here San Juan batangas Philippines
A smashing trailer , if only I had a welder the know how how to use one as well as the space I might give it a go . Until then I will use a cargo bike .
Seriously.. any of the decently built trailers for sale are way overpriced. Been researching and procrastinating building my own for awhile now. Very helpful 👌
@Terry Bolton yup. I actually picked up some free kid bikes ppl were getting rid of and plan to chop those apart and reassemble them. One even has a suspension frame, the shock absorber from which will be perfect for a one wheel build. That’s the only thing missing from this one ☝️
Loving the video but wish I saw it before I started making a trailer last year, I made the same mistake with the pivot point. DOH! Worked totally fine until I used an old disc rotor as weight and the trailer nose dived to the ground and took out the mount (hitch) I made. I will get back to that project once my brother returns my welder or I buy a new one
The pivot / connector was always the part that put me off making my own bike trailer. As it needs to be able to move in 2 directions and pull the trailer as well as be able to be removed. My idea was to use 1/2 inch universal socket swivel. If attached to a steel rod it becomes the joint and when the socket ball spring is removed and drilled through it would need a bolt as a retainer Never built the trailer as I don't have welding equipment
WHAT DID YOU SEE ABOUT YOUR TRIAL RUN THAT SHOWED YOU THAT YOU HAD TO ATTACH TO THE AXLE RATHER THAN THE OTHER REGION? WHAT PRINCIPLE DOES IT FALL UNDER THAT TELLS YOU THAT THIS ISN'T GOING TO WORK?
Esta chida la carreta para bici creo que voy hacer una espero que me salga bien lo intentare no pierdo nada atte. jacobo de alcaldia azcapozalco saludos bandas
You got all the tools...why not stuck to the original idea...we all know it work very well...I got a bob ibex trailer...it look very easy to built yourself
why buy when you can build in 79 easy steps plus a $2000 tig welder, $50 metal supplies and a $120 drill press. assuming you have an old bike to chop up.
Precisely. I had a Bob trailer but wanted to run a 20" wheel . Voids the warranty and it would have required welding as well to put in a couple of inches to length. I will look for a homebuilder who does not have a welder .

All valid points. Depends what's more important for you! :)

exactly my thought process for just about everything. “i looked online. Didn’t like anyrhing. So I thought I’d do it better. Blew up the shed”

А какого профиля труба, выдерживает большее сопротивление на изгиб, при одинаковом весе? Круглая или квадратная?
Excelente, obtuve la información de como voy hacer un remolque para mi vici.
Que lindo!!!! Intentaré hacerlo
Great jobb with the carrige weeler! 👍😁
Speekee dee Eengleesh? Or, Spellee dee Eengleesh?

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, in practice...

This is really cool! I can't believe I just put my bike out for trash, I could have used parts from it to make this :(
Go to the scrapyard and find one! :) Glad it could inspire you!!
the horizontal axel at the front is useless because there is only one wheel at the back and the trailer can lean with the bike...
top

Nice but seems way too low to me.
Я конечно же извиняюсь но почему не по русски ?

IMHO, very low (for Russia ground roads). For sport bicycle enough.
Okay - I'm pivoting to part 2 now ... c u there
Good
The time it took you could of earned the amount of money to buy one
Of course anyone can go and buy anything. The creative and learning process is lost unfortunately.
Nothing new under the sun. Look at existing bike trailers for design hints.
Excelente

Very poor design.
Well you design and build one then
Wrong 👎
