Another fun watch. Can't wait for my stuff to come.
The table, though beautiful, seems conducive neither to land nor sea battles. Not enough land for the former and definitely not enough sea for the latter. I love the passion that has gone into designing the units and the historical setting. I would like to see this with a Lardy style card activation turn mechanic, otherwise it comes down to IGYG dice rolling.
B&P is minimalist in its battle space. It works quite well.
I don't know how I missed this first time. Looks like a great game on a very small area. Very thematic backdrop. Need to check if there is a campaign system to go along with this for the club
This bridge will always be instrumental in such a game: if you try to move across it, the opponent will simply shoot you to bits (you're in the open) and kill you and/or force you to retreat. This gives the defensive player a huge bonus. Also, the French were scuppered from the beginning by bad deployment: why are those Boucaniers parked all the way back? That just negates their excellent Shoot 5 and Ball & Shot.
great game
I watch these, and it seems they are hurried along in their actions. Lighten up the terrain a bit so the game can move a bit faster, and we can see the activations. Also maybe a dice tray?
