tons of great guitar players , not that many great bass players. I’m 56 and had my first gig at 15. Great bass players SOUND good. I have playedwith technical players who don’t sound good. You have to ride the fence. I did a bass gig for a about a year . I Played with two top player singers. I approached it as being the bass player i wanted to hear as a guitar player. I’ve played with countless bass players and know how the good ones sound and what they do. So i approximated what I heard from my side over the years. What I did as a favor to my friends to fill in turned into a year because they we so impressed by how I played and sounded . Bass is
phenomenal . You can move the room, reinforce the drama. peak the sound , support the song , swing the solo section , make the band sound giant, lay the band back , make the band sound aggressive, be melodic here and there . great musical instrument

Dude shreds 🎸🤘🏽 big fan of the galloping bass lines. I’d like to get him my patented bass fretboard mod to try sometime.
My only suggestion on this vid is to smooth out the tone a bit more. Kind of buzzy tbh plus he’s picking directly on top of pickup. Just sayin. No hate. I like a smoother heavy tone. You can add percussive tones just not like buzz from the strings. Prolly just the fact he played kinda low volume so you could hear him speak as he wasnt mic’d. Keep at it!
