This video is about garbage disposal swap we needed since the old one seized. This is the model I got amzn.to/3kTGrao It's cheaper elsewhere but I wanted to provide that link for reference. you'll also need plumber's putty... amzn.to/3mWqnqa That's actually cheaper than local! Here's ALL my Amazon tested products: www.amazon.com/shop/robdaman
This was both incredibly helpful AND absolutely warmed my heart the way you interact with your family. Thanks for such a great video, and for the help!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the informative video 👏👏👏. My 15 year1/3 hp Insinkerator (home built in 2006) started leaking through the bottom, which my wife was not happy with, lol. I went to the big box store and bought the Moen 3/4 hp,which by coincidence is the one in your video. I watched the video, then took out the old one with your tips, installed the Moen and 90 minutes later,I was done! All good and no leaks! Thanks for the tutorial.
It's been 3 weeks and she's still working!! Thank you!! I'm off to build a fire pit now. Really trying to kill this horrible bush thing while I'm at it. But thanks again!
This was an informative video…if I may add a few observations: 1) instead of cutting the disposal elbow b/c it was too long, I just re-used the existing elbow from the old disposal; 2) I didn’t have a snap ring tool but it didn’t take more than a minute getting snap ring on; 3) the old disposal (insinkerator) was very tough to get off, partly b/c (in error) I unscrewed the phalange and realized I needed to keep it screwed, also it was really stuck in there but patience and perseverance got it off 4) there was not a “front” marker anywhere on the sink parts so I assumed it didn’t make a difference and 5) my previous set up the dishwasher didn’t connect thru the disposal, and when I changed that to connect to the Moen disposal, the hose didn’t fit the disposal dishwasher hole, so I had to go to local hardware and get a hose connection kit that fit the 7/8” disposal hole. It was my first garbage disposal replacement. Took longer than it should but now it runs great..thanks for your video.
It always pays dividends to read thru the manual 1st. I tried not doing that and ended up using duct tape to hold the flange up - it worked but the little blue plastic piece they give you and in the instructions would be most useful. Also since I was doing this job by myself - it always better to have someone around to assist or if there are issues. All the time I was working on it I was worried about mixing "Power" - and water. I could have been zapped or something and be in real trouble. Over all the product fit well and I didn't have to buy a power plug like the others, I wish the Stainless steel blade mode was more in my price range - but glade everything works and was about $20 cheaper than the competition due to power cord included.
Thank you guys for this video. I just got the same one today at the HD because my last one seized after a bunch of glass got stuck in the blades and gears. This really helped me get a better understanding on how to install it. Thanks!
Do you guys have a loud click when you turn it on? I installed mine turned to the side to fit the pipes I already had, not sure if that would be doing it, thanks!
How difficult was it to break the old putty seal loose from the sink? I remember exchanging a faucet and had a heck of a time undoing the old faucet’s putty seal
The old one was 1/4 hp so definitely a power difference I could tell immediately. Also MOEN's run at a much faster RPM. Noise is actually lower because of the casing of the MOEN which appears to be insulation. I think it's an awesome unit.
Try telling your family friends dogs neighbors whoever that you're about to film a video and we tuned in to see the main subject not all this other stuff couldn't watch shut it off

You guys are AWESOME!!!!
Thank you Jesse!
good work jesse 👍
Super helpful guys!!!!! Thank you!!
Thank you. God bless you and your family.
Installing this this same one now.
I came here for the last step and the video is blurry and therefor unhelpful lol
Also did you replace a Moen or a different disposal. You and your kid are cracking us up! Awesome video!!
Old unit was a cheap no name that kept jamming. Moen is a beast
What is the switch that this is plugged into? Good video - thank you!
it's similar to this amzn.to/35aeklh
WAS THAT blu plastic RING RETINER TOOL in you box or did you buy it somewhere?
It was included
Do you guys have a loud click when you turn it on? I installed mine turned to the side to fit the pipes I already had, not sure if that would be doing it, thanks!
Yes it's normal since it's spinning up so fast. If it keeps on clicking then you have some issue
How difficult was it to break the old putty seal loose from the sink? I remember exchanging a faucet and had a heck of a time undoing the old faucet’s putty seal
i didnt have issues but really old sinks could
So since it's been a year, do you like the Moen? I'm having to replace the insinkerator that was already installed when I bought the house..
it's a keeper
So did you have to redo any wiring in the unit? Seems every other video I've watched involves that.
Fortunately no. Many disposals need wiring installed but not this model 👍
@@RobDaman Awesome. Thanks for clarifying!
How do you rate the performance and the noise level compared to the disposer you removed?
The old one was 1/4 hp so definitely a power difference I could tell immediately. Also MOEN's run at a much faster RPM. Noise is actually lower because of the casing of the MOEN which appears to be insulation. I think it's an awesome unit.
Just got one of these does yours click when you turn it on ?
Didn't notice. You can hear it in the intro
did you try to fix your old one?
also you meant to say the sink guard disposal has a non standard mount (which it does)
Yes I tried to fix it several times and it would work then get stuck. It was over 10 years old so it was time to upgrade.
Nice to see
Great kids❤
Thank you
My Moen unfortunately didn't come with a dang snap adapter
🤨
Could not see full install in the end
Lol kids are annoying af 🤣 gotta love em though.
Peace out
why was this useless he flashed the parts in front of the camera for 30 seconds 😭

Damn, it must suck being a loser.
Brilliant.... shit for brains
Great job
