Idk how I ended here... but I think you deserve more subscribers! Great vibes. To me, in this game Coda and Davey have always been two sides of the personality of the author of the game (Davey Wreden), and in a certain way of every artist. Coda is the part that actually creates, that finds value in the work and puts all the effort to see it through and enjoy it himself. Davey is the side that is always craving for attention, seeking the validation of others, wanting to expose that work for the world to tell him back that they like it, that he is liked. In my mind, this game represents the internal conflict that many creative people struggles with. I also like that, in the process of trying to show Coda's work to the world, Davey is constantly trying to smooth corners, changing the original work. It shows how sometimes we will fail to ourselves and change the work we really believe in here and there to fit what people may want or what we think people may want. In pursuing this exposure and attention so desperately, Davey ended killing partially the part in him he that qas creative, who faded away and prevented him from finding new games to make (or, from the metaphor of the two people, from having new games to show to people).
Omg I love your take on the game. It makes so much more sense. When he started to show people it became of a "I need you to tell me that you like it" rather than I am doing this because I like it. Thank you so much for the explanation sometimes I need time after a game to understand what happened. Also thank you so much for leaving a comment I love it when we can start a conversation about the game this is basically why I do youtube.
I think you may have misunderstood Thor. As far as I remember, he didn't recommend this game to people aspiring to become game developers, but to people who feel creatively paralysed. This, of course, can include aspiring game developers, but the game is definitely not about inspiring you to make video games.
Oh no no no. The way I understood it was like: If you get stuck because of ideas and don't know what to do the game might help. I think I explained myself poorly. For me worked with video games because I had no ideea where to start like an idea a story or something I guess. Thank you for explaining better in comments I really appreciate it!
The thing that always gets me is that in the first half, everyone is on the side of the narrator, then pretends (once the twist happens) that it’s wrong to be the narrator. Just interesting to me
I mean it seems that it starts with good intentions and then it seems that it's losing his purpose and maybe forgets why everything happened in the first place and he gets lost without an idea of what is wrong

@@ChillwithLinaTV well it is only my interpretation 😅. It may have different meaning for different people.

Plays The Beguinner's Guide. Less than minute in: "You know what, I trust you"
*Nooo, don't!* 😢
But he sounded like such a nice man🥲
