I remember making these as a child. We would use our regular school paper and scribble all over the paper with crayons and make the beads. We would make them with newspaper as well. Great memories. ❤

I have tried those beads and you made it look so easy. Mine just would not stay straight. I may have to try them again. I can also tell you another crafter showed using nail polish over them. Especially the polish with glitter in them.

I watched your video on your new Planner and kit. I love the new kit. And the pink lace on the outside matched the pink in the cover material perfectly. So beautiful. I didn’t comment on that video or this one till SUPER late on Sunday night (11:25pm) because Friday was my 3 1/2 hour trip to get to our Cancer center. We stopped first at my Pain Drs for an appointment then on to the clinic. It was such a long hard day. Lots of pain involved (my back and knees being in the car for so long. Not good). So it was rough. But I had some really good news from my Oncologist. First time meeting him. He said he won’t do Chemotherapy on me. We are starting with a Hormone blocker. Hopefully it will shrink the cancer. Still going ahead with surgery. IT’s scheduled for May 19th. But we’ll see how things go. And we’re not sure about radiation yet. But watching your two videos helped me so much. Thank you. 💗💞💗

Lovely dangles and beads Barbara! This brings back memories of the 70's 🙂 we made necklaces with beads created from magazine pages. Covering them with transparant nailpolish makes them even more durable. And shiny too, so you need to consider whether you want that.

What absolute treasures from your mom! SO CUTE!!!
What a wonderful dangle, how lovely it’ll be to look up and see that as you’re working at your desk. You could always make knots and add some glue to end of bead to hold the beads on. Just a suggestion, ❤❤

I've made a junk journal ready for our next cruise using nautical and tropical themed things. Now I will look for suitable charms, keyrings or jewellery in each port to make a souvenir dangle like Barbara's. I always purchase the ship magnet on board each new ship so I have fleet of magnets on my fridge to bring our trips to mind.

That red horse dangle is a Swedish horse. Its called a DALAHÄST in Swedish, dalahorse in English probably...
Dalahäst is one of Sweden's most famous souvenirs...
They are made in a part of sweden called Dalarna. Im definitely not an expert in this area but im Swedish so. 🇸🇪

Even though I am not a glitter person (I can handle some around Christmas time), I varnished some of my paper beads with glitter nail polish from Dollar Tree, just for fun. They were cute additions to a journal I was making at the time.

Ich meine, du hättest die Schätze von deiner Mutter auch schon einmal gezeigt… zumindest hattest du es mal erzählt, dass deine Mutter solche Sachen an Bücher gehängt hat 💚. So schöne und besondere Kleinigkeiten 😍. Ich habe tatsächlich noch nie Papierperlen gemacht, obwohl ich eigentlich weiß, wie es funktioniert… aber man soll niemals nie sagen 😉. Deine sind sehr hübsch geworden, auch wenn sie heute noch nicht zum Einsatz gekommen sind. Irgendwie hänge ich auch fast immer etwas an meine Journals… sehen sonst so nackt aus irgendwie! 🤣

A bead roller is a good investment. I coat the beads in clear nalil polish. Your charm turned out so nice!
You could actually put a little hot glue on the knot to also help keep the beads on. Thanks for the tutorial on paper bead making.

Barbara, I made those paper beads a long time ago from a lady who had a craft show on tv. There are no such crafting shows anymore sadly. Anyway I had forgotten all about making those until this video! I will be revisiting making those again. Love your dangles. It’s like around the world dangle! Love it. TFS! ❤

Love all the different dangles
Love your charms! When making paper beads, you can seal the outside with glittery/shimmery nail polish instead of the gel medium and embossing powder. I keep a couple bottles of Dollar Store nail polish in silver and gold on hand just for doing beads :) Bigger glitter looks grungy on the paper, while a fine shimmer looks more elegant.
I used glitter nail polish as well, love the way they turned out 🙂

I used wall paper at that time. It was such fun. Thank you. I have a buttons and things my dad bought back from WW2. They are so very easy. 🐼🐼 Love you back.

There many types of templates for paper beads the triangle is common shape to use. I love to collect random charms on my travels and can easily make them by upcycling kinder egg toys or capsule toys known as gashapon. Origami papers can be use they often have nice colourful designs. I never thought of adding dangles/charms to junk journals until I took part in last year 's dephemember (December daily challenge).
I remember making the paper beads in my Girl Scout troop when my daughter was young. They turned out great from magazine pages, and then we made necklaces.
