As someone who struggles with this level of depression, Ican honestly say I read the ending completely different. It brought me to tears in a sucky way. Clayton starts talking about how he's not going to let the anxiety control him anymore. He's not going to let it win and keep him silent. Then at the end he's right back where he started, unwilling to open up about his struggles. Those are the moments that always hurt the most. When you've decided you're going to be stronger, only to immediately fail.
Bro, you got what Clayton was saying. At 7:46 - 8:13, he said, “I was LOST, but I was FOUND like that… He PLACED HOPE deep inside of me… I’m announcing now that the DEVIL CANT HOLD ME… I found my ESCAPE in the form of a SAVIOR.” The ANSWER to Clayton’s deep anxiety and depression is HAVING HOPE in the SAVIOR, Jesus Christ.
So the ending; it was self reflection as mentioned but he didn’t feel comfortable expressing himself outwardly. Detailing its more of a mental and interior battle than something you can expect others to help with. At least from my end.
I’m 14 at the moment and severely depressed and have several anxiety disorders. I relate to this so freakin much. I have sever anxiety and panic attacks to the point of fainting and getting sick. It sneaks up on you randomly and sucks tremendously. I’m on anti depressants now but took 5 years and a near suicide attempt in middle school. Music saved me. I feel it was God using the one thing he knows would work well which is Harry styles. He makes me happy in my worst days and for a few minutes of a song, I feel ok. If anyone is struggling like I am, take a deep breath, calm down and take it one step at a time. Stressing yourself out makes it worse. I know it’s difficult but you’ve got this my friend :)
I love Clayton!! His poetry is 💯. Please react to more of his content!!! He is amazing. His poetry tells his story that so many of us can relate to!!! 💯💯🎤🎤
"Supportless" group... My view on this is that both anxiety and depression are such debilitating and very personal battles and each person's battle with these conditions is their own subjective experience thereof and unique to each individual. The battle is our own and regardless of all the help and support from our external world, it is and will remain an entirely internal battle, fought by the sufferer. It's like encouraging a clinically depressed person who isolates him-/herself from society (a criteria of clinical depression) to stand in a room full of people so as to not be "alone" and isolated"... It comes down to the understanding of "being within a room surrounded by people and yet feeling more alone than ever".
I highly recommend you react to Tell The World first then Godless America and God Bless America in whatever order. These are all by Clayton Jennings and mostly uploaded 4yrs ago
Jesus is the truth, the way and the light.....only HE can set us free. Speaking of being set free, you need to watch Pentatonix's new release, Amazing Grace(My Chains Are Gone)
the struggle of knowing what you need to say (when he see him saying everything), but then still not being able to speak.
