I have a line 6 pod Go that I recently purchased and can't afford an FRFR right now and I'm going through a Marshall origin 50 combo. Two things that I've learned so far as yes I turn off the cabinet emulation and yes do a bit of EQing but also I put a basic delay pedal in front of my line six pot go as a buffer since I can't afford a buffer right now and I have had some good results. I'm using the line 6 pod go primarily for gigging cuz I'm in a cover band and we cover a lot of different genres and tones I'm really going to try to make it work I'm doing the four cable method and then going front of house with the Right main out.

From what I understand is that you turn the cab blocks off on the Helix if you're using the built-in cab emulation of the PowerCab. At least that's what a Sweetwater and Line6 engineer told me at NAMM, and so far it's worked for me in practice. The reason being is that the speaker emulation on the PowerCab is already EQ'd to that speaker model. I might give that a try and see if you can save some EQ blocks on your patches. Good luck!

I’m not using speaker emulation in the helix just eqing the green back on the power cab model the original greenback is on the left power cab on the right you see a cab in my helix chain it’s not being used

Line 6 really needs to revamp the PowerCab. The speaker emulations aren't even close to what they're supposed to be. The Helix has matured into a very competent and professional product, but the PowerCab remains yet another one of Line 6's half-baked, forgotten products that will probably get axed before it sees any new firmware/improvements. It's a shame, too, because if they'd made the PowerCab as good as the Helix, the pair would've been a killer setup.

Agreed, I don't use the stock emulations on it no more, I just use it as FRFR with a good IR and it sounds great this way. It's still one of the best FRFR speakers out there

@@user-hc2rz6vs8h They’re not the same. The cab models in Helix are mic’d cabs, like pretty much every other modeler out there. The PowerCab was meant to be the true sound of an “amp in a room” by simulating the direct sound of a *speaker with no mic* . That is one of the big features of it and one of the main reasons it exists. However, those speaker simulations don’t sound all that accurate next to the real speakers they’re trying to sound like.

@@MotoRiff77 volume is key, at medium low volume it sounds so muffled but at high volume (rehearsal or live) its amazing, I compared my 212plus with greenback using the Fractal FM9 JVM410 versus the real amp with a 412 greenback cab and the only difference was the feel betweein the 412 vs 212
