The Color Purple was the first novel about the complete struggle of black women that I ever read and it’s still one of my favorite books. Thank you Alice, it’s a timeless masterpiece.

THANK YOU Alice Walker. Like James Baldwin your words went where angels fear to tread. A pioneer in radical acceptance about the complexities of this world. We still need your wisdom. More please.

Am I the only person a little annoyed by the fact that the audience is laughing while she's reading? It's like once she switched her voice to read the dialogue they jus found everything she said funny and it seems like they are missing the message. But she's so grounded and elegant and doesn't let it phase her ✨

Loved "As soon as I found out God was white and a man, I lost interest." So true!

Who says God is white or a man? God is within your heart. Trust in God. Do not trust in man.

'The Color Purple' is a novel which I want to read as soon as possible, after reading
    ' Alice Walker. A Life', by Evelyn C. White. White's biography is a page-turner.

I could NOT put Color Purple (the book) down. I took it to work, in the back of a cab and it was a short read. Real good book.
