You have to read the book 'The Color Purple' before you make a comment about it-I agree. Too many critics do not read books closely enough.

Anyone with any kind of sense would not follow or admire a woman who mistreats her own children yet go on a crusade trying to help the world... That's sickening ...has nothing to do with being human... Has everything to do with being trash...would u want to be reading your mothers books on self improvement if she dogged u out your entire life? I don't think so.... The lady is a complete hypocrite... What's done in the dark will always show up...

I'd heard often that Alice Walker was a very angry, bitter woman. But I'd never heard until recently that she'd abused her children. How is this known. Abused in what way?

Alice walker is a total hypocrite... She treated her daughter like crap her entire life... Please do not celebrate this woman

Anyone with good common sense knows she's only human.

Balancing her work and parenthood is challenging for most. Name me one human that is perfect. Don't judge ppl esp. When u don't know the entire story.

I actually liked her until I saw her daughters interview. After that u see who she really is... A really sick woman.

@@carolinespence15 So her daughter is lying? Why you believe Alice over her daughter? Why are you trying to invalidate Rebecca life experiences with her mother?
